Inviting Work colleagues?

Starting to do the guest list for our wedding.

Looking at inviting some work colleagues but we are stuck.

Do we:

  1. Invite work colleagues and their partners (this would bump up the numbers a lot)

  2. Invite just the work colleagues (They would all know each other so don’t need their partners there)

What would everyone do?

How to word dress code?

I'm having trouble figuring out how to word the dress code.

We would like everyone to make a little effort and dress up nice for our wedding. Women in a nice dress or pant that looks dressy. Men in a nice suit but more casual than the groom.

I don't want to put black tie, as it wont be that formal.

But I also don't want to write casual as I don't want people turning up in jeans and singlets (which some people did at a funeral, so I wouldn't put it past them).

I don't care about colours, expect white of course.

Any suggestions on how to word this?

Edit: Thank you to everyone for commenting. I think I have the answer. Another question, should I specifically write "No Jeans, Singlets or wearing White" ? I know most might think this is overkill, but I also didn't think they would wear jeans and singlets to a funeral...

How to include Passed relatives?

My partner and I have a few family members (and pets) that we would like to include at the wedding.

I'm not too sure about having a table with their pictures as it may come across as a bit morbid, also might be a bit weird to see pet pictures?

I was thinking maybe a sign on a seat at the ceremony say it is for passed members?

I also like the idea of the tiny little photo frames you can add to the bouquet.

What have others done that you have seen or what have you done to include them?

What Online Wedding Planner to use?

I keep seeing multiple Facebook ads for online wedding planners (wedding sage etc).

They have an excel component for budgets, but also sections for absolutely everything else (guest list, table settings, dress info, vendor info etc).

I like the idea of these, as i am very organised and like everything in one place, and was just wondering if anyone has used any or can recommend any?

I would like to be able to use it on my iPad.

Best Wedding Website to use?

What website is everyone using?

I would like one to track the RSVPs, and that also gives guests information for the day (Timeline, dress code etc).

I see a lot of recommendations for American websites but are not sure if they would work fully in Australia.

Cold Insulated Water Bottle Recommendations

What cold insulated water bottle does everyone swear by?

I currently own a Owala temu knock off. Its good but it doesn't keep it super cold.

I like the sipping style of the Owala.

I also only want a 600ml bottle.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I used to own a Yeti but it stopped keeping the drink cool after about 6 months use.

Why cant you see the ticket prices before they go on sale anymore?

The websites used to let you the price ranges for each section well before the concert went on sale.

Now you don't know until the sale has begun and you basically freak out and, possibly, spend more than you expected otherwise the tickets will sell out.

Scams to look out for

I am going to Vegas at the start of next year.

Just wondering if there are any scams that I need to look out for?

Whether it be in restaurants or from people trying to sell things outside.

8 hr layover in Vancouver

I am looking at travelling to Vegas next year and one option on flights is to have a 8 hr layover in Vancouver (during the day).

Would this be worth doing?

Would this be enough time to leave the airport and explore a little bit?

The other option has a 2.5 hr layover in LA and costs $300 more.

What would you choose?

UPDATE: I BOOKED THE FLIGHTS! 🎉🎉🎉

Thank you all for your help.

Super excited about visiting Vancouver, even though it is brief.

Australian tour?

Just found out that Post will be headlining the Strummingbird festival in October this year.

Surely he will also have his own concerts while he is here 🤷🏼‍♀️ saves on travel lol. And he hasn’t been here since 2023.

Has anyone heard anything?

I would sooooo love to see him again.

Hey Everyone!

I'm really struggling for lunch ideas.

I tend to like a food for quite a while and eat only that for lunch but then once I don't like it anymore i cant eat it.

For the last while I've been having chicken sandwiches with stuffing and coleslaw. But im starting to get sick of it.

I'm looking for delicious meal ideas with the following:

  • Protein rich
  • No seafood of any type
  • No avocado
  • No tomato (sauce either due to allergy)
  • No salads

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

P.s. I have a fridge and microwave at work
