My husband had an accident yesterday… now I’m overthinking all these “religious items in car” beliefs

My husband met with a road accident yesterday. He’s stable now, but it really shook me.

Ever since then, my mind is stuck on random thoughts like people saying you should keep religious books, photos, or idols in the car for safety. I’ve even heard that some people believe more items = more protection.

We used to keep a lot of such things thinking it helps, but now after what happened, I’m confused and honestly scared. If something has to happen, does any of this even matter?

What happened yesterday made me feel like maybe nothing external can really “control” safety… and now I don’t know what to believe anymore.

Has anyone else gone through something like this? How do you deal with this kind of fear and overthinking after an accident?

How do people actually attend fashion shows? …. I’m so confused 😭

Hey everyone,
I’ve been really curious about fashion shows lately (like runway shows, designer events, etc.), especially in places like Dubai

But I’m genuinely confused about one thing
HOW do people even get in?

Like:
I barely see any seats being sold online
Many shows don’t even get posted publicly
Some people just randomly show up at shows??

And then later I see photos/videos from influencers or guests, but no info on how they got invited
So what’s the actual system here?

Is it mostly:
Invite-only?
Industry connections?
PR lists?
Or are there hidden public somewhere?

Also if anyone here knows:
How do I start attending smaller/local fashion shows first?
Any websites, contacts, or platforms where these events get listed?
How do new designers or outsiders even enter this space?

I’m really interested in fashion and would love to experience a real runway show at least once, but it feels kind of “hidden” from the outside world.

If anyone has info, tips, or even contacts in the fashion show circuit, please share 🙏
Thanks in advance 🤍

So I need an honest opinion because I’m genuinely confused if I’m overthinking or if this was actually rude behavior.

A few years back, my husband’s uncle was friends with a family (same community) in Mumbai. Recently we found out they live in Sharjah now and are doing very well financially (multiple properties, villa under construction, etc).

Our family insisted we go meet them, so we traveled quite far (metro + taxi) and they picked us up from the station.

Now here’s what felt off:

– The entire time, they kept talking about their achievements, money, properties, etc.

– In front of us, they casually told their daughter to take a Mercedes and not worry about fines because “we’ll pay” (felt like unnecessary flexing).

– We reached around 12:30 PM, but lunch was only served at 3:30 PM (we were starving by then).

– Food was served in very small portions, and when I politely asked for more paneer, I was told it’s finished.

– After that, instead of letting us rest, they took us around to show villas, then made us sit for HOURS outside an office waiting for someone.

– By 8–9 PM, we were exhausted and just wanted to go home. Instead of dinner, they said it got late and offered to order dosa for us to take away (without even asking properly what we wanted).

We finally reached home around 10:30 PM, hungry and drained.

Am I overreacting or does this feel like low-key disrespect / poor hosting despite all the “we’re so well-settled” talk?
