4 & 5 – Huashilai (Haozila?) 783/983 Caramel Set

• Selling the matched pair – FB and Ballpoint

• Nib is two-tone marked “585 Iridium”  Probably SS
• Looks to be F
• Ballpen TTO mechanism is smooth
• Refill writes as expected
• The Caramel color is quite attractive
• Condition – B though the FP has never been inked

Ten days ago, in a difficult act of love, we set him free of his dying body.

These three Sheaffer pens are being sold as a lot.  One price buys all three.

In the late 60s and into the 70s, Sheaffer confused the heck out of many people.  I am unsure if the descriptions are correct.  I had AI help me.  LOL

Frodo is our 14 year old Goldendoodle. For several months his mobility has decreased. We’ve been giving him joint chews and Carprofen.

Two weeks ago he developed a dark growth on the top of his left paw. The vet did a cytology. Mast cell tumor. The wart-like bumps are growing all over his body.

The vet said Mast Cell tumors are typically quite aggressive. I asked if that meant “years” or “months.” She said “Weeks”

We’re sad.

What we don’t know is “When.” We’re watching for signs of pain or significant discomfort.

For any folks who’ve faced this, any advice?

We’re loving a lot on him.

The Brown Tortoise M250 Levenger SE was produced only in 1997.

Pelikan produced a special run of this pen, primarily distributed through the American retailer Levenger. To build it, Pelikan combined components from different model lines:

The M600 Part: Pelikan used the leftover tortoise barrels and the thick gold-banded piston knob directly from the old-style M600. This is why the lower half of the pen exactly matches an M600.

The M250 Part: They capped the pen with a dark brown M200-style derby cap and outfitted it with a 14K gold nib (which defines the M250 designation)

I use the word "rare" carefully. I don't know how many were produced, but it wasn't very many. This pair is a true Pelikan factory Frankenpen.

• Condition: B.  I went over them with a loupe.  A small scratch on one of the caps, (pictured) otherwise only some microscratches.
• Fountain Pen has smooth 14K gold nib.  It's marked “F”.  A writing sample is in the photos.
• Rollerball is a perfect match to the FP.  The caps even interchange. The Blue F refill writes very smoothly.

• Attractive Black & Pearl finish.  In my opinion, it’s the best Duofold color Parker offered.
• Condition: A2.  I went over them with a loupe.  Only some microscratches.  Looking at the eraser, I doubt the pencil was ever used
• Ballpoint Pen - A Twist-To-Open mechanism.  It has a smooth writing refill.  Parker style, of course.  I would replace it with a Parker Gel though.
• Mechanical Pencil – Mechanism is perfectly smooth.  0.9mm leads.  Eraser Spare leads still in the barrel.  Eraser appears unused.
• Includes a Parker clamshell box, though it’s likely a mismatch.
