Took a long break and need some advice regarding new release

Hey guys, it’s been a long time since I’ve been active on Reddit or royal road and things like that. I just recently got back into web novels and I had previously shelved the release of a novel I was writing due to unemployment 😭

Now that I’m employed, I have started writing again and have 100+ chapters and feel as if I am ready to start releasing and test the story out on RR. I was acc at a point where I was advertising and making connections and ready to release previously as well but unfortunately I realized I would be too busy trying to find employment to acc consistently release chapters so I decided to let it be at the time.

Now, I feel I’m ready again but I wanted to ask you guys if things have changed. Are there newer release tactics? Or is it the same as before where we network and try to get shoutout swaps or review swaps and things like that?

For the experienced authors and the new authors how has the platform changed in terms of release and success? Has it gotten even harder?

Is the RR writers guild still the best place to find shoutout swaps and ask for feedback or are there other places
Now too?

Any advice for me as a new author releasing would be helpful as well. I apologize in advance for the barrage of questions, but thank you in advance for taking the time to help me out!

P.s.

Here’s the cover that I’m planning to use it’s the same as the one I workshopped back in may feel free to lmk your guys thoughts!

FY is a cannibal?? [chapter 1487]

Fang yuan killed yu Chen and then swallowed her after chewing in his dragon form. Am I tripping or does that mean bro is a cannibal? Or does the swallowing in dragon form work differently then in human form?

Genuine questions tbh

First client

Hey guys, ima new freelancer. I’ve built a couple of projects and have worked as a contractor before along with internships as well at startups.

I built out a profile on upwork and fiverr. I still have to try and play around on fiverr, but on upwork I’ve been at it for a couple days now and have spent close to 80 dollars on connects. For context, I am a software dev and I can do anything from building full stack apps to helping with cloud deployments and more and my projects reflect that.

I am finding it a bit difficult to land my first client after all the connects spent as well, so I wanted to ask if I’m doing anything wrong? Is there a strategy to landing your first client on upwork or fiverr?

I appreciate any advice you guys can give me and any insights from your own experience. Thanks in advance!

Similar novel recs?

Hey guys, I just recently caught up to this novel and wanted to ask if there were any similar novels on web novel?

u/Late-Scallion-9205 — 2 months ago

Took a break from web novels, coming back to it any recs?

Hey guys,

I took quite a bit of a break from reading web novels. Im getting back into it now and looking for another new and interesting novel to read.

Ideally something that has longer chapters or shorter chapters with a hundred or more chapters released alr. I’m looking mainly for prog fantasy set in a dark fantasy or urban fantasy as well, something that has an interesting power system and a cool world as well I love world building and lore.

Ideally, if it has a mix of academy life and life outside the academy as well like war or exploration of another world, or even exploration of areas in the same world, that would b fire too.

Thanks in advance guys!

Need some feedback on how to market this app

Hey everyone,

I’m building a healthcare based app with features to track your bloodwork, symptoms, and medications and more upcoming. Right now it’s only on iOS and we have it in beta with beta users and it’s going to come to Android soon too.

You can check it out at medician.ca.

However, the problem I’m facing right now, is that me and my co founder need to market it, but we don’t rrly know the best approach. We’re planning some posts on Instagram and TikTok and we made an X account as well. I’ve posted quite a bit on Reddit and replied to ppls comments, but I’ve learned that most places on Reddit don’t allow self promotions so I stopped doing that and just used Reddit for validation.

The results were that we found ppl do want an app like this, but we have no way to acc reach them without getting banned on Reddit. So I wanted to reach out and ask the more experienced developers, how do u guys market your apps? Is there a strategy you use for specific contexts? Is there a specific platform that’s better than others ?

Any sort of tips or feedback would be helpful! Also on a side note if u guys do wanna try out the app u can request the beta on our website. Unfortunately for rn we only have the iOS version ready, but Android is coming soon. We plan to release on iOS this week nd Android next week hopefully.

We’d appreciate any input, or feedback and most important any tips for marketing or improvement.

Thanks in advance everyone!

Tips for marketing ?

Hey everyone,

I’ve built an iOS health app and it’s coming to Android soon as well. I’ve tried marketing here on Reddit a bit and it has worked to some extent at least to the point we know that our idea is something people want.

The problem is that we just need to figure out how to get it out there at a larger scale.

From the developers who have more experience, this is my first time building and marketing something, so I wanted to ask for any advice that u guys had for marketing.

How can we market and reach an audience to grow our users once we launch?

Built an app that allows users to track their blood reports, medications and symptoms!

Hey everyone,

I have been on Reddit for a while now and wanted to get ur guys feedback!

I’m part of the team building Medician, an app designed to help people keep track of their blood reports, medication, symptoms, and questions for their doctor.

We noticed that a lot of people struggle with the same things:

Understanding what changed between blood reports
Tracking trends over time instead of looking at each report separately
Understanding how to raise or lower high or low biomarkers or just understanding biomarkers in general
Remembering symptoms or medication details before appointments
Knowing what questions to ask their doctor

So we built Medician to help with:

Uploading and storing blood reports
Viewing bloodwork trends chronologically
Comparing reports without manually scanning through PDFs
An educative design where users can learn exactly what a biomarker is, what is cholesterol? What are tryglycerides? Etc.
An in app assistant that helps curate treatments for high or low markers and then provides side affects for those treatments that users can then talk to their doctors about.
Generating summary reports to bring to a doctor
Tracking medications and reminders
Logging symptoms as they happen
Creating suggested questions to ask your doctor based on your reports

We’re releasing on iOS on May 29, with Android planned soon afterward.

Our website is Medician.ca if anyone wants to check it out, join the waitlist, or request a demo to get access to the app directly on ur iPhone!

I’d genuinely love feedback from this community:

What would make an app like this even more useful?

I have already gotten requests to add fitness or weight tracking too so that’s in the works as well!

Also happy to answer questions about privacy, data security, or how the features work.

Thanks!

Releasing an app to view blood report trends over time + more!

Hey guys,

It’s nice to meet everyone I’m part of the Medician team! We see all over Reddit that many people struggle with reading blood reports, keeping track of metrics or their bloodwork, or feel stressed nor knowing what to do for high or low metric values.

To keep it short our app fixes that! We provide the following:

  1. Upload and store blood reports
  2. Track your trends over time chronologically and then generate a summary report of either one specific trend or all of ur blood reports combined to show your doctor!
  3. Compare your reports easily without having to scan through them one by one!
  4. Track your medications by adding medications to the tracker and keep track of what your taking and when your taking it!
  5. Get reminders when your next medication is due to be taken!
  6. Feeling sick? Having random symptoms? Track your symptoms on the symptom tracker when they happen so you don’t forget to ask your doctor!
  7. Get curated treatments from our in app assistant for high or low metrics and get the side effects of each treatment as well!
  8. Report summaries include suggested questions to ask your doctor for you to better understand your own health!

I tried listing out features in short form so it’s easier to read but hope it’s not too long😭 we’re releasing May 29th and you can join our waitlist, request a demo, or just check out our features on our landing page:

Medician.ca

We’re planning to add much more and we’ve alr gotten requests to add fitness and weight tracking in the future, so we sincerely hope that you check us out and again if you’d like a demo then please request one on the website and we’ll reach out to you with the demo link so that you can try the app on your phone!

Right now we’re only available on iOS and will release on iOS but Android will be coming soon as well. If u guys have any questions, concerns or potential inputs then feel free to reach out to us at:

Support@medician.ca

Or you can just dm me directly on Reddit! Don’t hesitate if you have questions about security of your data, about how certain features work or just want to know more.

I rrly hope you guys will check it out and if this is something that you’re looking forward please let us know in the comments so we know we’re not crazy 😭

Thanks again guys!
