An old co worker told me that a past dentist that decided to go on his own that the reason he doesn’t want to hire me is because “ im a know it all” hearing that broke my heart . I worked hard to be the assistant that I am today and I honestly thought that doctor was one of the good ones but proved me wrong . I don’t know if I’m ranting or raging or just flat out annoyed .
What would you guys do or think if you were called that ?
Did any of you regret going from para to teacher ?
Is it better to do that route than 4 years of schooling ?

What does it mean when financial aid says that you can get 50% reimbursement when dropping classes ?
I recently just changed my degree and my new degree doesn’t require the classes I originally signed up for . I of course just started school 3 weeks ago and they received my financial aid the 26th of August and it still hasn’t been packaged and disbursed but what does that mean for me if I drop my classes ?

I’m a mom of 2 and I mean 2 under 3 . Just shy of 7 month old and an almost 3 year old . I decided that I want to pursue my degree as an X-ray tech and there’s 4 school in my area and they accept about 27-40 students each school if that makes sense . I’m just struggling postpartum and being a mom , a wife and also mentally just started my pre requisite and I just found out I’ll be done next fall to apply to the programs here in my area August 2028 . I guess my question is has anyone got in and not have good grades I mean like lowest c and GPA 2.8 or 3.0 ?
I interviewed one college and they said they look at grades but more so personality and drive and shadowing hours and the other college says I really don’t need to my pre reqs and can apply to start Aug 2028 but just need my shadowing hours , a long letter in why I want to do it and my transcripts and boom I’m done …. Another college wasn’t very helpful and seems cut throat and the other college I haven’t really asked .
I really really want to do it and the only thing stopping me is me . I know me and my kids deserve a better life and a balance from me . I hate my job now ( daycare teacher ) and anything I mean honestly anything is better than being there rest of my life or going back to being a dental assistant and no I do not want to go into hygiene .
I guess I need motivation ? Advice ? Or just rant ? I’m just overwhelmed .
That’s the title ….. why? Why does it when people say just go to hygiene school ? Genuinely why does everyone suggest to solve all problems for dental assistants that are burnt out and just tired of toxic work environment that becoming hygienist is the next best thing just because there is more money involved ? What if I’m just tired of the dental field ? What if I just got burn out trying to find “ unicorn” office ? Why would I want to change to corporate or go back to small office or husband and wife office or no benefits just being a hygienist ?
I’ve even asked my hygienist friends do they like it and they genuinely are like no they’ve had to have surgery already or burnt out as well with hygienist being toxic and doctors being rude or pushing them to sell things . I’ve even asked my assistant friends that switched to hygiene if they still like it if they are enjoying the hygienist life and they tell me no.
Please someone tell me why . Am I being crazy ? Is hygiene really all that ?

I’m 29 and lost . I’ve changed careers 4 times . Yes 4 times I’ve been a real estate agent , insurance agent , daycare teacher , dental assistant and now stay at home mom . I want to go back to school so when my kids are in school I have a promising career to help fund their things that comes with age , sports etc .
I am looking into the medical field and yes I know it takes schooling but I’m not looking to be a doctor or anything the most I think an assistant just a promising job to live comfortably as dental assistant and daycare teacher does not pay well and I do not want to go back to getting licensed for real estate agent or insurance it’s a very cut throat business and i was always on the phone and hated jt . I love customer service side of things I love helping people but do not want to be a nurse or bed side .
What is a good healthcare job ? A good paying one ? That you are happy with and could say I would do that instead of what I’m doing now or I’ll do it all over again in my next life .

How much did schooling cost you overall after everything said and done.
I have a degree and racked up $20k in student loan and Pell grants is almost at max even before stating program and I’m starting to feel overwhelmed and in over my head. Does it really cost $51k 1 year and $41k the next year ?
Is it even doable this late . I’m almost 30 and I feel like I’m just starting to figure out my life and what I want to do and I’m just at a loss as I really want to be a radiology tech .

My boobs are slowly feeling soft all the time and not as full as before. My first born I completely dried up at 7 months and my second one just turned 6 months old and I have a huge stash and donated to 8 babies and I’m just feeling like a failure and my body is giving up? I really wanted to last until almost a year old but I’m just feeling defeated .

I’m looking into starting over completely I’ve been on the fence of radiology or dental hygienist and I’m just so confused on what to do. Hygiene school requires 8-5 Monday thru Friday and I just can’t do that due to have two little ones . Is radiology is the same ? Is it worth it ? Is the work life balance good or great or bad? Has anyone ever had the alert come up in dashboard if so has the dealer fixed it ?
My car is going on 3 months at the dealership getting fixed for this alert and they can’t figure out why it won’t go away after replacing sensor , harness and seats and updated recalls . I called Kia of America and they just opened a case for buyback …. They said it if it not fixed after engineers look at it well it’s defective .
I have to add we bought this car brand new off the lot in march car has been in shop since beginning of June .
Also I’m not talking about the reminder of occupants in the back I’m talking about the alert system .
