I’m a foreigner and I will be in Cape Town for a short visit mid of this month. Looking to get STD tested from a credible yet reasonably priced place since it’s very expensive in my country of residence. Where should I go and how much should I expect to pay?

I’m supposed to start my renewal process by next mid October and I’m already getting anxious from now… I’m Egyptian and have been hearing about all the rejections going on atm, been with my company for almost 5 years, it’s one of the biggest employers in Dubai, and my position doesn’t require a high degree of education (although I have it unattested) is there anything that I can work on from now to avoid any issues at the time of renewal?

I was raised in a devout Coptic Orthodox family and was religious myself until my teenage years — then it faded. I still live by the values I was raised on, I just don’t do the rituals, fasting, or church attendance. I’d describe myself as agnostic rather than atheist.

I had a long-term relationship with a Muslim girl in Egypt who wanted me to convert on paper to marry… I didn’t mind the idea itself, but I couldn’t go through with breaking my parents’ hearts.

I’ve been living abroad for 4 years and dated foreigners who had no issue with my beliefs — but I’ve decided I want to marry an Egyptian (not because of my ex, just personal preference).

The problem: the obvious routes to meeting Egyptian Christian women — churches in my country of residence, family arrangements — all lead to religious girls. And I refuse to fake my beliefs to get married.

Ideally, I’d find someone from a Christian background who’s also quietly agnostic, so we can have a church wedding and keep our families at peace — without either of us pretending.

Is this even realistic? How do others in this situation navigate it?

I’m changing my engine oil and filter and considering brands away from Mazda genuine oil. I’ve used Mazda oil for the past 2 years but looking for something that could possibly be better quality.

I have:
Mazda 3 2015 2.0 Skyactiv non turbo.
150,000 km.
Recommended Viscosity in owner manual: 5w30

Usually short drives within the city, with limited highways.

Looking for oil that can make the engine smoother and quieter and possibly cleaner. Also do you recommend changing the viscosity?

I need a financial advice if it’s time to consider buying real estate for investment purposes.

Here is my situation:
Savings: 170k including emergency fund.
Investment portfolio: 50k in ETF (can be liquidated anytime)
Salary: 9600
Yearly bonus: ~20k (not guaranteed)
Age: 30
Work: one of the biggest companies in Dubai (aviation)
Duration in UAE: 4.5 years
Single male.

I’m thinking of applying for a small mortgage of 300k and buying a ready studio. The studio will be rented out for extra monthly income (aiming for at least 1500/month net)

I know that my salary is low for mortgages. Would banks consider the mortgage amount and my savings or I don’t have any chance.

What do you think of the whole idea? Any tips or recommendations?
