Dental Hygienist Major Clarification

Hey guys so i’m a bit confused and would love if someone could provide some insight for me to better understand the admission process for this. I have already taken every class I needed EXCEPT BIO 2311 ,BIO2312 and CHEM 1000. My question is do i need to complete all of these before february to apply to the program? Do I need to already complete DEN1100? How does this work? I was hoping to take BIO 2311 over the winter and the other two classes over the spring. Would that work or do I need to move back my timeline? I’m not even admitted into citytech right now which is why I wanted to enroll for the winter sessions and start taking my classes. (I graduated and I’m re enrolling). But it may take too long and there’s not many seats left. Please let me know!!

Is it too late to enroll for the Fall 2026 semester??

I want to enroll in anatomy and physiology and intro to radiology. Do you think I will be able to get department permission to enroll into Intro to Rad for this semester?? I still need to enroll back to citytech in general 😭😭. What major should i select when im enrolling? Also who do I email to get permission for the class, and for advisement ? Thank you! I understand it’s a very last minute decision but my hopes are still up!

What are some paths you can take in NYC to get a good paying career without going through the traditional college to job route? is a degree really the only way?

Is radiologic tech and medical imaging field a good option to pursue?

Im not sure if this is the right subreddit, but given we are all jobseekers, I feel you may have better insight. I recently graduated with a degree I don’t really align with and i’m looking to pivot towards something new. My dilemma is my place of residence will be a bit unpredictable post attaining a second degree (in radiology tech). I may be moving to one of three places (LI,SI or NJ). Would getting a degree in radiology tech be a wise decision? Or are there other fields I should consider and look into? Thank you in advance!! I’m hesitant on getting the degree because of this dilemma but I don’t want to delay getting the degree if I choose to.

Any Early Career Programs? Affordable Training Programs? Anything with High Career Growth?

Recent graduate and like a lot of people i’m having trouble finding a job. I know eventually I will find one but I absolutely hate sitting still and I don’t even like my major that much anyways. Anything that can help me pivot from it and get a job in a different field?

BMCC ACP Program

Has anyone enrolled and graduated from this program? Was it helpful in your career growth and would you recommend it? I’m a recent graduate in EE and i’m looking to go into accounting! Any insight helps!

Pursuing a Masters with an Unrelated Bachelors in NYC. Is it worth it or is it a bad career choice?

I hold a BTECH in Electrical Engineering Technology and currently looking to pivot from that. WGU has an affordable online masters program in accounting however I have zero experience in that or background in it aside from my math skills developed during intensive engineering courses. I don’t like EET (I know it makes no sense because I spent 4 years in a program for it but it took me this long to figure it out 🙃). Does it make sense to go through with the masters in accounting or will it be hard for me to break through the market. Please Advise!

Confused about pre reqs can someone help clarify?

My main concern is the RAD 1124- Intro to Radiology class. Would that be taken after all other pre reqs are taken or is that taken along with BIO 2311 Hunan Anatomy and Physiology? How do you go about admission into the program. I’m in my preliminary search of the program and would love if anyone could give me any insight.

Is a radiological tech/dental hygiene associates degree worth it in nyc?

I’ve already graduated with a BTECH in EET (electrical engineering technology). Don’t like this area much and i’m having a hard time finding a job. Would an associates in either of these fields be fruitful in nyc as they do interest me. My plan would be to hopefully find a job with this degree and then be able to fund further education, whether that’s a bachelors/masters/med school. If anyone can provide any advice or insight at all i’d appreciate it alot!

[I apologize for my lack of grammar 😓]

MTA phone screening and assessment for internship. What to expect?

Is the phone screening more behavioral and then the assessment technical? Is the assessment multiple choice? Is it general knowledge or is it very specific to the position. For example if it’s an electrical based internship would it focus on the basics like ohms law, circuits or would it be more specific like PLC transformers generators exc. If anyone can offer any insight I’d appreciate it!

NYC recent grad, what should I do from here?

I’ve very recently graduated with a bachelors in technology in electrical engineering technology. I’ve been applying to jobs and have had no success. I graduated summa cum laude and preformed exceptionally well in all my classes. However I have imposter syndrome. I feel like my memory is really bad, I’ve forgotten 80% of what I learned over the years. This leads to me being very low confidence during interviews (i’ve only had one). It also doesn’t help that I don’t feel passionate about engineering? (I know, why did I wait 4 years to decide that? I’m not sure either. I thought once I learned and did more I’d like it) I don’t have a drivers license (never needed one as the train has been reliable) so it limits alot of the engineering jobs i’m eligible for aswell. What are my pathways from here? I was considering per scholas cybersecurity and AI course, looking into state funded fellowships, free online programs to learn coding. I’m just not sure what to do from here. I hate feeling still, and not knowing what’s next and I know there are many options but i’m not sure what they ALL are and which one is the right one. Forensic science is interesting to me, so are some healthcare professions but I don’t even have a job to fund these. And i’m also scared of spending another 4 years in school not bringing in income and losing experience when other graduates have continued to build theirs. I’m open to continue learning and applying these skills, I just don’t know what to do right now from this point. I also don’t know if it’s worth switching career paths and wasting this degree and if i should just suck it up and go for a masters through a scholarship/fellowship if i’m able to and of course get my drivers license to open up more job opportunities. I just don’t want to make the wrong choice and jeopardize myself.

Cyber Security Course Worth It?

Hi so i’m a recent graduate who’s struggling to find a job. I’m applying for the perscholas Cyber Security and AI course. Is it worth it? Do they actually help with job placements? Can you drop out if it gets too intense? What happens if you fail an assignment or test? What were the interviews like? What are the homework’s and assignments like? Are they manageable? Thank you for any insight !

How to become a radiologic technician in new york?

I wanted to go back to school for radiologic technology at City Tech. However the program is highly competitive and requires 3-4 semesters of commitment before admission to the program and that’s also uncertain. I don’t want to waste more time doing pre requisites over a year or two, to possibly not even get admitted into the program. However radiology/radiologic tech/x-ray technician is something I am very interested in. What are different pathways to become one and what is the expected investment for them both money and time wise? For reference I have no medical background. I hold a bachelors in electrical engineering technology. Thank you in advance!

Degreeless jobs/ boot camps/programs/fellowships?

Is it possible to get a high paying job without a relevant degree, if so which fields and how would you get started? For example things like data analysis, IT, CS or accounting? Or is it better to save up and get a degree?

Recent Graduate Feel Lost, What Should I Do? (23F)

For reference, I graduated with a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering Technology. I only did undergraduate research once, had an unrelated internship, and worked as a college lab technician. I graduated summa cum laude as well. I live in NYC and don’t have a driver’s license, which unfortunately disqualifies me from a lot of engineering jobs since many of them are field-based and require travel.

On another note I absolutely hate this field. Yes I know I spent 4 (technically 5) years getting this degree to decide now that I don't like it but I absolutely dread it, I never enjoyed anything. I didn't ever really understand what I was doing and why, I just did it. I dont know why it made sense either and I feel like I don't even know the basics of electricity itself or anything. If you put a simple circuit in front of me I don't think Id understand it or if you gave me a schematic I don't think Id be able to replicate it.

I do enjoy physics and math individually and feel like I can understand them. But the concept of engineering I dont think I'm made for it. I can be good at it when i'm given a task and know what to do but I'm not sure. I don't think I really have a passion for anything. Medical based things make sense to me logically, I think i'd understand it in a way that clicks. I'm absolutely fascinated with forensics/ crime. I know i'm going on a tangent here but I just feel so lost.

Do I take the FE and try and try again until I get a job (I wouldn't particularly like it but if the money is good who would complain). Do I try to get any job I can and save up for another degree? Do I attempt to apply to scholarships and do a masters in electrical engineering? I'm scared to be in debt. Do I build skills online and continue applying to jobs? I'm thinking data analytics/accounting/finance are fields I can break into by self learning. Is there any bootcamps or fellowships anyone can vouch for? I think life is too still for me with no direction right now and im not someone who likes to sit and wait :,(. If anyone started fresh right out of college, changed direction or did something similar can you please share.

Does anyone else with TMJ have similar asymmetry?

There’s no photos allowed here so i’ll try to add it in the comments. But I HATE how asymmetric my face is, i haven’t gotten a diagnosis for it because i don’t have the time to go to the ONE jaw specialist that takes my insurance. My face used to be very symmetrical. I think i’ve honestly had TMJ since i was 9/10 years old because i remember being able to click and unclick my jaw. Now it clicks when i chew and feels uncomfortable but the mental impact of seeing my face so asymmetric is what’s taking the toll on me most. Please tell me someone was able to regain asymmetry i hate looking this way. I just wanna throw up.

What is going on with this locations guac?

I went to the chipotle near my house like a day or two ago,I always get my guac on the side. When i went a day or two ago i received a guac that looked sooo heavily oxidized i really wish i had taken a picture of it. But I asked for a new guac and the workers said “all of our guac looks like this rn” but repacked me a slightly better looking one. I didn’t question it and just went on with my day (except for when i found a piece of chicken in my veggie bowl 🥲 but that’s not relevant here).

Anyways today I wanted chipotle again and was by my campus so i got mine there, on my way home my sibling wanted some too so i made them place an order at the location near our home again. It’s about an hour commute aswell. I got home and took out the guac The one I got from the location near my campus an hour earlier looks super fresh and bright green, and the one from the location near my house is brown and oxidized again. What is going on 😭 I saw a similar post too a few days back.

Note: It looks worse than pictured because of the auto saturation/contrast edit of the photo. I don’t mind oxidized guac but this looked super inedible. AND i got to keep the other guac from the first time before they repacked it and forgot to toss it and the next day it was literally fermenting and producing gas 😭

Expiration on App is weird can someone clarify

Just showing one reward for an example but today is the 20th. Does that mean I have to use it today and it will not be valid on the 21st? Or is it a glitch
