It took me 7 years to get around to it, but I finally said goodbye to the old MMI

Audi S1 - it won't stay this clean for long, due to the UK hosepipe ban 😔

Took a gamble on this. An MDS-JA555ES on eBay with a "faulty drawer". Of course, being cynical I figured that anyone who owned one of these would have had a stab at getting it professionally repaired rather than selling it off. Anyway, the asking price was £500 and I duly paid.

Turned out it needed around £350 and 4 months to source parts to get it all fixed up, so I am pleased. As it turned out it needed a new laser, new read/write head, the mechanism had been bodged by an amateur and had non-standard screws in wrong places. Oh, and that price included labour - I myself no next to nothing about repairing electronics, let alone something as complex as this beast.

I've seen a few diecast/resin 1:43 models of the Mk1 and Mk3 Jazz/Fit, but only one of the Mk2 - which was a Honda dealer edition. Anyone know of any others??

So I sold a pair of floor standing loudspeakers in December 2024. In July 2026 that same buyer is selling them (which, of course they are entitled to do) - but are using my 2024 photos!! These were taken in my own home.

So I report the listing to eBay as for starters using 18 month old photos is not honest, as well as using my damn photos! Somehow they can still see my Dec24 listing and comment that the photos are all the exact ones I used originally.

I didn't want the listing taken down, I just want the guy to take his own pictures! eBay tell me that they have marked it as priority and I will hear back in 24-72 hours.

Five days later, nothing so I call again. I get the same spiel - even "I know you were told 24-72 hours last time, but this time we mean it"

In the end they rule to do nothing.....

This is my first Honda and only now have I learned about the notoriously thin paint! Every time I wash it, I find another new blemish that makes me sad 😔

My EX wheels are in need of a refurb so I got these Wolfrace Lucca 16" wheels as a stop gap. Not sure if they look strange to me just because they're different to OEM and it will pass in time, or whether I'm not feeling them.... 🤔

Has anyone fitted 17" alloys to their 2nd gen Jazz/Fit? Would love to see photos for inspo, and how was the ride quality affected??

I'm probably the only one but....

I much prefer the white on black display of the 2008-10 Jazz models to the black on orange, so changed my climate control panel to the "old style" one.
