unweighted food, once again </3

- tofu is about 100g (~144kcals)

- ratatouille (first picture then had some more as you can see in the second picture) was 35kcals per 100g (but i have absolutely no idea how much i had, i logged it as 300g 😭)

-the rice is whole grain rice, 360kcal per 100g (dry weight) but i couldn’t guess how much i’ve had (by the way i didn’t go for seconds for the rice as well, i just didn’t finish it before going for more ratatouille lol)

can you guys share your experience with extreme hunger

5 months into recovery and weight restored (even overshot a little) but i think i still struggle with extreme hunger, eating >!up to twice the recommended amount set by my dietitian!< in a day..
I suppose this is normal (?) but I have no one to talk to about this (my dietitian and doctors say i shouldn’t eat this much and try to stick to my meal plan, my family share their opinions).

Could you guys share your experiences/offer reassurance (´∀`=)

all you can eat buffet

I went to an all you can eat buffet for lunch, but i’m not sure what all of this adds up to :P
Any help is appreciated (even if you don’t give an estimate of all the plates or the whole plate)

1st plate : avocado maki, carrot maki, cream cheese maki, egg white, two cherry tomatoes, small slices of bell pepper

2d plate : sautéed potatoes, mozzarella stick, caramelized mushrooms, broccoli (with seaweed but i didn’t eat it), stir fried noodles with onion and eggs, curry rice

3rd plate (3rd and 4th pictures) : mushrooms, bell peppers, carrots, onions and zucchini wok with chili sauce

4th plate : mini glazed donut, kiwi, pineapple, mini strawberry jam filled doughnut, apricot in light syrup, small slice of apple pie

5th plate : apricot in light syrup, kiwi, orange, pineapple, mini strawberry jam filled doughnut, mini glazed donut, small slice of apple pie

never ever restricting again

Hi, as a little update on a post i made yesterday talking about how i was starting to restrict again :

I caved in and had kind of a binge/extreme hunger episode and afterwards felt awful both physically and mentally—basically i ate chocolate biscuits and milk among other things until i felt nauseous—HOWEVER it did make me realise i don’t want to go through this EVER again.

So from now on, i’ll try never restricting voluntarily again, as it makes me feel awful and often backfires

relapsing (?) feels too “hard”

I think i’m relapsing.

For context, i was doing pretty bad earlier this year which led me to residential treatment to be refed and stabilised and spent 4 months doing so.
I was able to go home in very early july—the first or second i think—and then i tried to honor my extreme hunger, leading me to >!eating thousands of calories a day, most of the time over twice the amount i was recommended by my dietitian.!<

The thing is, i recently had an appointment where i was weighted and found out i gained about >!10kg!< in the span of that month, making me >!2kg!< over my ideal body weight (according to doctors), with some oedemas but still quite a high amount of real weight gain.
I don’t think i was quite ready to hear that, because combining this with the changes in my body, i just couldn’t do it anymore.

I’ve been trying to restrict for the last two days, eating about >!1200!< a day when i’m supposed to get about >!2200!< and i know to many this seems like a tiny deficit, but for some reason it’s been taking a toll on me.
It hasn’t even been three days, but i’ve found myself to feel pretty tired yesterday, and today, upon waking up, i decided to clean my room a little and i felt kind of dizzy.
After having breakfast i went back to bed to rest a little, but i used to eat less with >!a lower BMI (quite underweight)!< and i’d still use my walking pad for a while after every meal, however, right now i feel too tired to do so.

Does anyone have a similar experience/explanation for this ?
I feel like i’m just terrible at this “eating disorder” thing and like a fake anorexic and i’m so jealous of the person i used to be :(

I’m also worried about the changes in my body and my intake that i have a really hard time not tracking :(

is anyone else in ana recov experiencing lots of binging episodes ?

I was in residential treatment for about 4 months and now i’m home since a bit more than 3 weeks, the thing is, i keep having binges.

I’ll eat all the fruits in the house, a whole baguette or loaf of bread, a whole (small) wheel of cheese, a family sized pack of chips or other similar stuff in one sitting, complimentary to my meal plan and always end up eating >!one or two thousand calories!< over the meal plan i set with my dietitian.

I talked to her after the first time it happened, when i was still in treatment but got to go home for the weekend, and she said that we’d set boundaries with my parents so if i don’t stop eating they will stop me, but they sometimes have a hard time noticing.

It’s really detrimental to my recovery, i don’t want to fall into a binge restrict/ binge purge cycle.
I’ve seen people that seem to say that this is EH and that i need to honor it, but it doesn’t feel too helpful.

I don’t know if i want reassurance or advice or to know i’m not alone in this (perhaps all of the above) but if you have any insight please don’t hesitate to comment this post..

honoring EH

As a follow up to a previous post where i expressed my concerns about extreme hunger and honoring said hunger, i just want to rant a little :P

It’s not even 9am yet and i’ve had like nine slices of whole bread with biscoff spread and nutella, and now i’m snacking on wasabi peanuts because i still didn’t feel full..
I’m just like a bottomless pit right now, but weirdly enough i’m not really struggling with that, more so going with the flow :D

I do wonder, does anybody relate to that and is that the right way to go about things ?

Is extreme hunger real ?

I’ve been in res for a few months and went back to a mostly healthy state (except for my period that’s still missing) and i’ve been back home for almost 3 weeks but i’ve been overeating a lot.

From my experience, it feels like bingeing, i keep eating even though i’m full and have little control over it. I’ll be eating a full meal and then a full pack of chocolate biscuits, or a whole baguette as a snack, or every fruit in the house, or sometimes just feel super hungry even after having a full meal and a few snacks.

I’ve seen posts and read articles that seem to be saying this is normal in the recovery process and just extreme hunger, but i’m not sure “honoring” my hunger or junk food cravings is healthy, it feels more detrimental than anything else.
I’ll end up bloated and feeling guilty.

Besides i’m scared of gaining too fast (this has been happening) and i’ve been struggling with edemas.

Can anybody give me some insights ? I’m just really scared that it’ll develop into BED :(
