Roast my app, it’s a bit of a controversial app, so, you have all the input for a good roast.

I’ve made this app 100% vibecoding it. It was fun to make it and I did it out of boredom. Output is on stores, so, you can have some fun roasting it. LovHatAds

For who’s in the mood to test a bit my controversial app..

I’ve made an app about something everyone hates: ads.

I’ll appreciate to receive your take about this controversial app so I can make it more fun.

Just unload your raw thoughts directly.

My target is to make them better, but it’s a hard and long way there: I’m taking it step by step, now on the lowest one from the stair.

Ads are everywhere but nobody ever asks what you feel about their content. So I’ve done something for to find that out: what do you think about this concept?

Basically, you watch a video ad, predict whether you'll love it or hate it before it plays, then vote and rank it after. That's the whole thing.

What you think about the concept (and about the app if you’re curious to give it a spin)?

(not AI, but my text)

The frustration I had and still have: I watch tons of ads on my phone, I guess everyone does, and I have opinions about them (their content, the way they are showing what they promote and so on), but nowhere to put or unload those opinions. So I’ve made this app where you can watch those ads, then vote on them, and basically rank them. Unload your feelings about them. You can also check what others feel about those same ads.

Basically, you watch a video ad, predict whether you'll love it or hate it before it plays, then vote and rank it after. That's the whole thing. And in this process you may discover also some interesting brands or apps (as it has happen to me while having to watch ads on so many other free apps I’ve been using). Similar idea as iMDB, but for video ads.

What you think about the concept (and about the app if you’re curious to give it a spin)?

I don’t have a big database so far, but what I’ve noticed isn't necessarily the average score or other indicators of the voted ads (indicators which may be useful for creatives), but the split: many of the same ad gets almost equally loved by some people and hated by others. Almost 50/50 overall across about 1000 votes so far (this may change with volumes, but I’m not there yet). I guess taste is quite subjective, so it’s difficult with these ones to rank them. Obviously, there are much more disliked ones than liked ones. But a few ones are indeed getting mostly likes, so there is hope for those.

I’m still very early. Ad quality is the biggest headache right now, as the ad network I use serves whatever it serves at this scale (new app with very few users), so the app is getting to show a lot of bad ads mixed in with a few good ones.

Ads are everywhere but nobody ever asks if you liked them. So I built something to find out.

The idea came from a simple frustration: I watch tons of ads on my phone and have opinions about them, but nowhere to put or unload those opinions. So I built this app where you can watch real video ads, vote/rank them, and see what everyone else thinks.

Basically, you watch a real video ad, predict whether you'll love it or hate it before it plays, then vote and rank it after. You can always check the global ranks. That's the whole thing. And in the process you may discover also some interesting brands or apps. Similar idea as iMDB, but for video ads.

Curious what you think about the concept (and about the app if you’re curious to give it a try).

The curious part I’ve noticed so far isn't necessarily the average score or other indicators of the voted ads, but the split: the same ad gets loved by some people and hated by others. Almost exactly 50/50 overall across about 1000 votes I’ve got so far: ads genuinely divide people down the middle. I guess taste is quite subjective.

Still very early. Ad quality is the biggest headache right now, the ad network I use serves whatever it serves at this scale, so you get some genuinely bad ones mixed in with the good.

Curious what you think about the concept (and the app).

How do you handle repetitive ad creatives in rewarded ads?

I'm running a rewarded ad unit and noticing the same creatives showing up repeatedly for the same user. Is there a way to influence creative rotation, or is it entirely AdMob's decision? Any settings in the dashboard that help?

Context: my app shows rewarded ads back to back, so repetition is especially noticeable, and with a small user base early on, it seems even worse.
