Why the Fokker 100 Systems Surprised Me - Analysis

What Fokker 100 Systems I Found the Most Interesting

So, with the help of Fokker 100 AOMs, I’ve been doing a deep dive into the systems. I’ve found (and am still learning) many interesting quirks that you simply can’t get from an addon manual. Here’s what I found interesting, which is helping me get the most out of my JF F100 addon.

I also made a video where I am going through the full cold and dark to landing sequence by the book. https://www.youtube.com/live/IlkMp-1tAQ0?si=GzBVZuSrN7KR1k_G

APU**:** The systems are actually very modern and smart. The APU page is automatically presented when the start selector is positioned from OFF to ON. After approx. 2 minutes at operating speed, bleed air will be available. Interesting to note that, inflight, the APU can supply electrical power only.

AFCS: Very similar to the A300-600 in terms of nomenclature such as PROF for VNAV and even map modes. The Pull/Push buttons for speed, HDG, and ALT are very much like the MD-11. Furthermore, LVL change mode is activated automatically when the altitude knob is pulled, provided no other mode is selected.

FMA: The subscripts like IAS_E, IAS_T are fascinating – it tells you whether your IAS or Mach is being controlled by the Elevator (e.g., LVL change mode) or by Thrust (e.g., in a V/S Climb).

Standby Panels: Quite a unique cockpit layout equipped even with standby Engine Instrument panels and Warning Panels.

Cockpit Photorealistic Textures

Hi Blender Artists,

I need some help. I want to make my panel files photorealistic like the second image for flightsim. I have the .obj files which I can open in blender but I don't know where to start to get the desired end result.

Thank you in advance.

Flying the 737 Classic in BA Landor Scheme :D

I took the CSS 737-300 Classic for a spin in the BA Landor livery. I actually have the BA 737-300 FCOM, so that added an additional layer of authenticity to my operations. Who would have thought that BA uses the right hand side engine ignitor for ex-base operations, etc :)

I made a full BA 737 Classic FCOM tutorial too! :)

BA Airbus A320 with CRT Screens! My Picture.

I photographed this rare "Glass Screen" Cockpit on my way to Frankfurt. Aircraft: G-EUUP. Spoke to the pilot about how cool it and retro this is. I've previously seen CRT screens on the Saab 340 but not very often on the A320.

One Year Since AI 171 - A Tribute

Today marks exactly one year since the tragic loss of Flight 171. To honor the memory of the passengers, crew, and those on the ground, I have put together a short simulation reconstruction of those final 32 seconds of flight based on the preliminary report data, showing the timeline and explaining with reference to 787 QRH why there was simply no time left to relight the engines.

Regardless of how we may sometimes differ in our technical opinions or theories within the aviation community, today is a day to put those aside. Please may I request that we all unite in grief and solidarity, supporting one another-especially those who lost loved ones or were affected by this tragedy one year ago today. My deepest thoughts are with the families. May they rest in peace.

We Really Need a 737-200 in MSFS!

Who else wants to go beyond the Magenta 737's in MSFS and go old school with the 737 Classic and Sperry A/p?

I took the Highly Versatile 737-200C on an Arctic spin yesterday and had a blast! So I'm going to do it again this time FCOM Tutorial Style :)

Luckily the FlyJsim 737 is arriving to X-Plane in June, but sadly no MSFS equivalent as of yet :/

How did Jetphotos accept this AI Image?!

This is supposed to be a Douglas DC-8 Cockpit. While the throttle Quadrant looks convincing, the instruments are a dead giveaway! Those do not belong to a DC-8. Its almost without a doubt AI Generated 🤦‍♂️

How to make photorealitic textures?

Hi all,

I've made a 2D aircraft instrument panel but I want to make it photorealistic based on reference photos. Any help would be appreciated. :)

Using My Concorde Flight Sim Experience to Explain Concorde Systems at the Paris Air and Space Museum :D

So I went to the Paris Air and Space Museum and was so excited to see Concorde that I couldn’t resist giving a virtual tour of the cockpit using their interactive app.

Being a hardcore Concorde flight simmer for years certainly helped!

What was originally intended to be a private memory quickly turned out to be an interactive experience as a crowd gathered to hear my explanation. :)

Even other visitors doing other tours started to notice. It was a very proud moment for me.

Here's a short video of the experience. I had to cut out parts where other people were in the video asking questions for obvious reasons.
