I feel like whenever anyone says anything about mcr its never mentioned. its also by far their best album in my opinion, and even having moved past this band, I still think its a great album and it was influenced by lots of my favorite genres. the post hardcore influences shine through and I feel like I can still come back to it often, feeling lots of enjoyment from it.
I recently went there to play with my school of rock group at this little festival thingy they did there and oh my god I could not stop thinking about how perfect it'd be for whirr. The acoustics in there would be amazing and hot take, it'd probably be crazier than Modesto.
I just copped New Orleans tickets because I really like their music but I’m wondering what the live sets are like. is it a lot of breakcore? Is there a live drummer? or is it more keen to a rap show where the artist walks around the stage yelling out adlibs and the crowd goes crazy on the beat drops😭

the song is 100x times better live in almost every aspect, the drops are more powerful, the verses have more build, and even the first two notes that segway into the song hit so much harder live. everything on the studio version is toned back and less crazy, it feels more scattered. I think the only thing the studio version does a little better is it includes horns, but other than that I think everything else is better live.

I just saw them at Gov ball then again in Pittsburgh because I go there for the summers. I live down in New Orleans for the school year and was really happy to see that they were playing the civic!!! I thought it would be something lots of people that I know in the local music scene would be excited about but…. crickets??? ive told some of my friends and they don’t even know who hot mulligan is! also, at the Pittsburgh show I didn’t really see anyone who appeared to be in my age group at the show. I feel like they would attract a young audience but I guess not? even if I’m alone at Nola I will be in that pit getting fucked up and crowd surfing a lot, I just wish other people were tapped in enough to know the show is worth 45 bucks.
I saw them at Gov ball and have been chasing that high ever since. I’m holding out for jazz fest but don’t know how well the huge Trinidad pits would go over there. maybe they’ll come on tour? I don’t know I just NEED to see them again.
I’m starting a new high school in August blah blah blah it’s harder my parents don’t wanna commit to a trip where I have to miss a day of school when they dk how I’m gonna perform Yada yada Yada. just hoping to prove to them I’m chillin and can indeed handle missing a day of school to see one of the dopest tour lineups ever.

we don’t get many concerts here so I was rly excited to see that the garden was coming here with one of my favorite bands, her new knife, as support. when tickets went on sale it said 18+. why? what makes a 18+ show there and what makes an all ages show? Joyce manor was all ages, descendants was all ages, the garden isn’t much different fanbase wise, and it’s not in the concerts nature that is HAS to be 18+ (eg: raves and things of the sort) so why?
