Crazy chemistry at the movies (wondering if it's going to become a genre)

Inspired by the previous poster who shared a similar story. I should have thought previously of this sub as a platform to tell about this, for despite it happened like a few years ago it keeps haunting me.

So I went to a popular artsy venue in London (I am Italian but basically live here part time) to see La Chimera, a film that per se is already a combo of queer-forward sensuousness, I mean, is there anything more alluring than Josh O' Connor as a failed archaeologist turned tomb-robber in the Italian countryside?

Just before the movie starts, a lad seats next to me: he's like the most handsome fellow I had ever seen in my life. He looks like he is out of some book by Jack Kerouac: unruly brown hair, tall, muscular, looking effortlessly cool. As the film starts from time to time we look at each other, during a particular funny moment we even laugh in unison keeping staring at each other, like that scene is the funniest thing we both have ever seen.

When the movie ends - I am one of those boring people who watch end credits too - he doesn't leave the screening room until I leave too.

Later in the night and in the following days I keep thinking about him. The most flabbergasting thing happens a few weeks later, when I go back to Italy. Basically while waiting for luggage collection at the airport, I realize the guy was on my same flight. He must realize it too, for we basically bump into each other in the airport restroom, and keep looking at each other even afterwards, without saying a word.

Needless to say, I never saw him again, but think about this episode from time to time.

End of story.

Has anyone had nice experiences at Ma1: The Bunker?

Hi everyone, went yesterday to Ma1: The Bunker.

I don't know if it was a wrong night, but found it extremely disappointing. Not only there were few people, but I also found the descriptions in their website and on Google a little misleading.

For future reference, imo it's not as maze-ish as it seems in most descriptions, it's just a small bar + small tv area, two small play rooms and a few cubicles. I expected something like the dark room at Electrowerkz, so imagine my disappointment.

Have you ever tried it? Did you like it?

TIA and cheers!

DVS1 @ Phonox (London), who was there?

Went yesterday to see Tama Sumo + DVS1 (house set) at Phonox.

I loved how DVS1 delivered a very peculiar set: I was confident it wouldn't have been a typical "house set", and indeed it did have techno elements within. I mean, watching such an icon of techno music doing something different is quite an event per se, imo.

Really felt one thing with with the music and the crowd, a most special night which I did enjoy until the very end.

Of course Tama Sumo was great too.

On a side note, the club gets a bad rep but I found the venue to be perfectly fine. Nothing bad with 20 yo clubbers in my book.

Did you go as well, or did you attend a similar set by DVS1? TIA.

I expected it to be quite a hit, given the A24/Anne Hathaway/Michaela Coel/Twigs/Charli combo.

Yet really few cinemas seem to feature it, and I am in London as I write (I mean, Michaela Coel, Twigs and Charli are legitimately local icons here). Are cinemas near you screening it? Have you watched it yet anyways, did you enjoy it?

Thank you in advance.

EDIT: I might not have answered every comment but appreciated all your suggestions, opinions and shared experiences, thank you all!

I see a lot of people are complaining about Olivia Rodrigo attending the Met Gala afterparty despite "boycotting" the main Gala event, which also served as a fundraiser.

Otoh when will the public understand that individuals like her, Billie Eilish etc. are rarely spontaneous about what they do and that their image is carefully curated?

After all we're talking of a former Disney kid who at 23 has already published two studio albums and has another one coming, at an age when most independent artists struggle to get their first EP released. She's very much a product of that world, no matter how much she tries to sell herself as a socially committed artist.

I just wish people would be less influenced by media, psyops of sorts and try not to idolize and then destroy people when it suits them best.

Have a nice day, you all.

Genuinely thought they were a duo of Eastern European/Balkan/Caucasus guys based in Berlin (à la Brutalismus 3000), when I first heard their songs.

Was utterly surprised when I discovered they're actully from NY and live in the UK. They clearly grew up loving Eurotrash and Eurodance, even their outfits reveal they have a very deep knowledge of certain specifically European subcultures. Aesthetics aside, I'm addicted to their music.

What's the general consensus here?
