Game Night at CREATE Friday Night! (8.14.26)

CREATE Portage County and the Wisconsin Computer Club are running another video game night on the lower level of CREATE's air conditioned facility at 1300 Maria Drive, across from Pacelli from 6PM until 9PM-ish.

The game lineup may vary a bit depending on which exhibitors can make it, but all the fan favorites like the GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Sega Genesis will be there for sure, along with some other surprises! I've added a few photos from past shows for an idea of what to expect.

This event is, as always, free and open to all ages and abilities- we hope to see you there!

HongCube

Early in Hong's campaign, I found out that her round logo was called "Hong_Cube" and I immediately thought of the Nintendo Gamecube. I downloaded the design, then one thing led to another, and the HongCube was created!

When Hong came to Stevens Point in the spring (I forget which event exactly, she visited us many times!) I was able to meet her in person, and she was generous enough to pen our campaign slogan onto the HongCube!

The HongCube toured around the state with the Wisconsin Computer Club's "Retro Pop Up Museum" shows at local libraries from Green Bay to Janesville and all over in between. I'll toss a few pics up from it's various travels. I figure this is probably the best place to share this until her next run for something.

Win or lose, every day we still make better possible! Forward!

Black Splotches on the northside Dunkin' Baskin Robbins building.

Spotted these odd black marks on the Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins building on the north side, and my brother and I weren't sure what it is. It's mighty high up there though. Figured I'd post here in case someone knows, I'm just curious.

Industrial PC that came our way.

This is an Onlogic ML500-50, a tiny i3 powered Windows 10 machine connected to a giant solid aluminum heat sink. According to the manufacturer, it's sealed in there to make it resistant to dust and vibrations, as it has no moving parts. Now we'll just have to get it working.
