3 Year Old Permanent Lights Failing

We had the original Govee outdoor permanent lights in December 2023 and they have failed pretty spectacularly. One specific light is discolored, and two strands are strobing no matter the color or scene we choose. We did some troubleshooting with CS a few weeks ago and they worked again until last night. So now have to send in a video this evening to support because they are supposedly covered by warranty until this December. The failing sections are on our second story eaves and we paid a significant amount to have them installed, and will have to do so again. Are many others finding their lights failing sooner than advertised? Trying to figure out if it’s even worth replacing them

First Post, First Time Talking About This

I have been dealing with an ED in secret for close to 2 years and I can’t tell anyone. I have lost a crazy amount of weight over the past almost 10 years, (I had a serious health condition and needed to lose weight or die basically) close to >!180lbs!<, but now I’ve become obsessed with the number on the scale and I’ve gone too far the other way. I’m engaging in ED behaviors, including b&p. Except I’m not eating large amounts, just small amounts and still purging them because the number on the scale goes up after the meal and I have to weigh the same every day. I’ve fallen into a horrible cycle of weighing myself so many times a day it actually interrupts daily activities. Then I also feel like I can’t enjoy my family fully because it’s all just consuming me. The irony of it all… I’m in therapy for something else (hello traumatic childhood and narcissist mother) but I just feel like I cannot even talk to them about it. I’m in my mid 40s ffs and I’m supposed to be this woman who has it all together, got her weight under control, has 2 great kids, awesome husband, things from the outside are great, and I’m actually a fucking trainwreck. I tell myself every day I won’t do it, I won’t engage in the ED behavior but by midday that all goes out the window. I just don’t know how to stop

(I also posted this in another sub and they removed it so that felt like a kick in the teeth because this is the literal first time I’ve ever reached out about this and then was basically told I couldn’t talk about it. So that was great)

Senior Cat Paw Issue

Our super senior cat is favoring her left front paw, will barely put weight on it and is obviously fairly uncomfortable. Upon further inspection it appears that she caught (?) her claw on a bath mat and had to yank it fairly hard to get free. One of her claws is crooked and has this swollen area you can see in the pics and another one is totally gone. I’m trying to decide is this is emergency vet worthy, or if this can wait until the morning. The other issue is, because she is 18 and fairly frail, we try to limit her interactions at the vet altogether because it seriously stresses her out (We normally have her vaccines done by a mobile clinic that comes to our home for this reason), and, if this is something we can manage at home I’d love to hear ways we could do that. (I do have a video of her walking if that helps anyone that I can share as well)

Front Fascia Question

I am about to pull the trigger on a 2023 Scat Pack and the front fascia has some light to moderate scratches on it. Because the fronts of these are plastic I'm trying to figure out what my options are in regards to repair/replacement or if I should just walk away from this particular car.

If I order the whole front from Mopar I know they only come in black and you have to color match (?) which, on a car that's a few years old will never actually match so that makes me hesitant, too... or can they be touched up and still look decent?

7 Month Old Dachshund With Retained Canine Tooth

I have a 7 month old 10.5lb intact male dachshund pup who, as far as I can tell has lost all of his baby teeth, except his right front canine tooth. That adult tooth has been in for a few weeks now, and the other side fell out maybe a week to two weeks ago.

The past couple of days he has been weird about food, to the point where he won’t eat until very late at night, sometimes vomiting bile because he’s hungry but won’t eat, and today when he grabbed something in the yard and I went to take it out of his mouth he yelped in pain. His gums are not swollen, there’s nothing bleeding or stuck that I can see, but obviously his mouth is sore. This is how he was when his teeth were loose and we did boiled chicken or wet food for a few days and he was fine.

My real question is, at this point or his age, is this a call or trip to the vet or should we just let it be hoping the tooth is just slow to fall? When we saw the vet in June for his last round of shots he still had a ton of teeth to lose and we were told he was right on track, now I just don’t know

Celebratory Dinner

My 15 year old got her permit this week and I want to take her somewhere different and fun to celebrate that and the sad fact that summer is ending. We're local so I really don’t want to do the normal touristy things, and of course when I ask her it’s the same things we always do.

If this was you and your somewhat adventurous 15 year old where would you go?

Sources for Raw Pet Food

I’m looking for local sources for raw pet food. Things like organ meats, raw bones, offal, etc. If you know of any butchers locally, or farms that process their own animals that would be willing to let me buy from them let me know!

7 Month Old Dachshund Help

We have a 7 month old 10lb male dachshund that I’m trying to get a handle on feeding well. Dachshunds are notoriously picky, and tend to get overweight quickly but this little guy rarely eats a full meal and it’s driving me crazy.

Right now for both meals I am giving him kibble, maybe 1/8 of a cup (our vet gave us so much pushback on raw feeding until 1 I panicked) and then he gets raw venison with those meals as well. We hunt, and so we have an abundance of venison, and can also get any other part of the animals we harvest as well, we just never had a need to keep anything other than what we ourselves would eat.

My questions really are, at his age is it safe to just feed him all raw? Does he even need the kibble? Because most of the time when I mix it all together he will pick through and spit the kibble out and eat the meat. If he can go all raw, what else besides just the venison meat itself can/should he have? Again, we have access to the entire animal and I’m willing to give him whatever he needs. Obviously he is a tiny guy, they don’t think he’ll get much bigger, so it isn’t like he needs a huge amount of food every day, but I’m pretty sure he needs more than just plain meat…

Sleeping Outside the Crate?

I have a 6 month old dachshund pup who is… mostly great. We’re working on becoming all the way great, knowing that dachshunds can be headstrong and difficult to train, but this guy in particular is scary smart and so I know he’s got greatness in him just waiting to be brought out.

He sleeps and naps in his crate beautifully; all night from 10:30-7:15 and then 3 solid naps during the day. Has done so ever since we first brought him home, again, it’s kind of strange (especially for his breed) but the problem we have now is he won’t sleep unless he is in his crate. He cannot settle for more than a few moments if he does happen to nod off somewhere else, but even that is rare. We always joke that he’s too nosey to sleep in public, but it would be so terrific if he could just nap in the living room without us having to schlep him into a separate room to his crate all the time.

Is this an age issue, have we trained ourselves more than him, or is this actually separation anxiety and I’m just excusing it in my head as him being great in his crate when really he just can’t be away from me for more than 6 seconds if he knows I’m in the room? Any tips or tricks would be so helpful

A lesson I never wanted her to learn

My 14 year old daughter was groped up the back of her skirt in broad daylight today. I wasn’t with her, she was with my elderly MIL. The cops are involved, they know who it is, they have a warrant out for him because we decided to press charges. We originally weren’t going to, bc we didn’t want to put her through all it would entail. But this gross ass motherfucker that did it has, according to the officer, multiple previous charges for indecent exposure and other “similar type crimes” and so we all, my daughter, husband and I, all decided she would be the one to take a stand against him and press charges.

Part of me is so proud of her for being that brave. But goddamn why is this even a lesson she has to learn or a stand she has to take. Or that anyone has to learn or thing someone has to do. Fucking grown ass married man with a pregnant wife groping children.

Not all men. But always men.

We are moving soonish and I would like to take a cutting (?) of my enormous climbing rose with me. I can trace this plant back several generations and it all started with my several times over great grandmother so it’s important I get at least one viable plant off of this. Any advice on what time of year, where to cut, anything would be so helpful. Yes, I’ve googled, but the advice there is so conflicting.
