streamable.comRevisiting OKC’s Paul George Trade After Being Fully Settled
The deal (July 6, 2019): Clippers get Paul George. Thunder gets Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Danilo Gallinari, five first-round picks, and two pick swaps.
Where everyone ended up
OKC:
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The trade centerpiece. Shai went from a promising rookie averaging 10ppg to back-to-back MVP in 2024-25 and 2025-26 and Finals MVP after a championship. He anchored OKC’s title core averaging 31 PPG in his last 4 seasons.
Danilo Gallinari: played one season in OKC, putting up 18.7 points and 5.2 rebounds in 62 games. Presti later traded him; that trade chain eventually produced the pick that became Brooks Barnhizer (2025 2nd-round).
2021 first-rounder (Heat-originated) → Tre Mann (No. 18). Mann was the first pick OKC received from the deal. He was later dealt to the Hornets for Gordon Hayward, who averaged 5.3 points in 26 games with the Thunder before retiring. Mann’s salary in that deal also helped facilitate landing Isaiah Hartenstein.
2022 first-rounder (Clippers’ own) → Jalen Williams (No. 12). OKC used their own pick that year on Chet Holmgren at No. 2, then ten picks later at No. 12 used the Clippers’ pick to take Williams, who became an All-NBA, All-Defense, All-Star player.
2023 Heat’s lottery-protected first-rounder: It conveyed as OKC’s own first-rounder that year (No. 12), which Presti then used in a draft-night trade-up with Dallas, sending the No. 12 pick plus a $17M trade exception to the Mavericks for the No. 10 pick and Davis Bertans. That No. 10 pick became Cason Wallace. (The separate Clippers’ 2023 swap right never conveyed. Irrelevant in the end.)
2024 first-rounder (Clippers’ own) → became Nikola Topic, only indirectly: The pick was shipped out of Oklahoma in the Chris Paul for Westbrook trade with the Rockets before later being routed back after further transactions to land Topic. Topic has battled injuries and has only suited up for 12 games since being drafted. Still a promising prospect.
2023/2025 Clippers swap rights → never conveyed/irrelevant, except the 2025 swap right was later flipped for a first round pick: OKC traded the draft rights for Nique Clifford. Taken with a pick that originated from the Clippers to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for a protected 2027 first-round pick from the Spurs they will make a selection for next draft.
2026 first-rounder (Clippers’ own) → The final piece of the original trade. OKC used it on Aday Mara at No. 12 closing the trade out exactly seven years after it began.
2027 first-rounder (San Antonio Top 16 Protected. Very likely to stay a first round pick as San Antonio is a contender. If San Antonio does not make the playoffs and does bad, OKC’s pick will convey to 2 second round picks instead)
How it’s been for the Clippers and Paul George:
2019–2024:
Five seasons with the Clippers. The Clippers went 233-157 over those five years, with George making three All-Star teams, and their best run was a 2020-21 trip to the Western Conference Finals, lost to Phoenix.
Summer 2024:
George signed a four-year, $212 million max deal with Philadelphia and was no longer on the Clippers.

There are a lot of conflicting sources online about this trade so it was hard to make this list, but I’m pretty sure this is fully accurate.

streamable.comI don’t think Isaiah Hartenstein is going anywhere
Idk where people are getting the idea that we are gonna trade Hartenstein. Why in the world would Presti allow Aday and Sorber who are both in their first season to play behind Chet, especially on Wemby.
Hartenstein is very valuable to this team.
Presti has already traded Wiggins. Joe and Dort are next up probably. After trading in the off season they can easily shed over $35 million in salary. It’ll allow them to decline his $28.5 million option and resign him to a multi year extension, and stay below the second apron.
Yaxel Lendeborg on playing with Stephen Curry: "It’s a full-circle moment for me. In 2016, I’m a big Kyrie guy, so I used to hate Steph Curry."
