Just pulled the trigger on the GTPlayer GT829 on Amazon for $120 shipped

It was on discount and had some features I was interested in -

- 155 degree recline

- foot rest

- spring cushion

- linked arm rest

I had two office chairs in my office - a bigger one I've had for about 15 years, and a smaller drafting chair.

The bigger one fell apart while I was sitting in it last week and the smaller one had no head support and is only comfortable for about 20 minutes.

Hoping I made the right choice

Trying to decide in personal training / coaching is for me (specifically ACE / PN1 combo)

Hi! I'm Considering a bit of a life pivot and I recently had the idea of Getting certified as an ACE personal trainer and maybe getting the Precision Nutrition certification as well.

Some background on me ( Sorry I know this is kind of a lot, I'm a talker, also I'm anxious and really trying to decide if this is a the right path for me so there's a lot here) :

I'm 35 years old

I graduated from college about 13 years ago and have struggled with direction my whole life.

I got I got an information science degree but didn't really use it out of the gate, worked in an office and then in retail for a couple years before Covid.

I spent two years working as a programmer and honestly found it pretty difficult. I opted not to renew my contract, unfortunately, have spent the last three years unemployed.

I've also struggled with weight my whole life was overweight in high school, Lost weight really unhealthily my freshman year, Gained it back, Lost it all healthily through proper nutrition and cardio and eventually integrated lifting weights.

Before Covid, I would say I was at a point where my fitness was significantly better than the average person- I'm 5'6" and at 180 I had abs (in the right light, admittedly), and for DL / Sq / /Be / OHP was had gotten myself to around 420 / 380 / 275 (for around 5 reps) / and around 155 (around 5 reps)

While I was somehow able to lift a shit ton of weight, I never really followed a super structured routine - just focused on progressive overload and doing the same lifts 2-3x a week.

I spent the last 3 years in a pretty bad hole with the depression, and it was really hard to see a light.

I've also struggled a lot with habits / routines / motivation etc

All that to say I guess I have some idea of things that work ( focusing on lifestyle changes instead of numbers / having a good relationship with food), and things that don't (crash diets / cranking the dial too hard to the point where it's unsustainable etc), and know that the best systems are the ones that work FOR YOU

I recently have been getting back in the gym / moving around for the first time since Covid (been to the gym 16/21 days, 3 active rest days, 1 full day off) - I think it's too soon to say I'm "back in the saddle", as I know that just as any time can be the beginning of the fitness journey, any time missed can be the beginning of a regression)

I was thinking of setting a goal of getting ACE and PN Level 1 by the end of October, and then maybe applying to local gyms / trying to find clients online / in person.

I also have a pretty nice home gym (Squat Rack / various bars / cable tower / resistance bands) so even if I wanted to train clients at home, that could be an option (though I know that would necessitate liability insurance etc)

I've struggled a lot with meaning and purpose and finding my direction, and I figure with these certifications I could use what I learn on myself to start, but then help others change their lives and find meaning in mine that way.

With all this put together - Does it this seem like a viable path?

Thank you for your time!

I really hope apple allows us to use streamdeck / some version of razer synapse similar devices some day

I have a pretty expansive tech ecosystem that I'm trying to use to interoperabily ( I think those are the right bigly words)

Windows desktop pc

Windows HP spectre touchscreen pc

iPad air m2

Samsung Galaxy S26U

I've also got a bunch of accessories including a streamdeck, razer naga pro ( has swappable 2/6/12 thumb plates)

It would be awesome to be able to plug these into my iPad and he able to work with da vinci resolve / paint etc rather than remember the keyboard shortcuts for everything.

Hopefully apple loosens the grip around these accessories in the future.

I made a little screenshot combination of the tutorial for a combat, sharing it here in case anyone else finds it useful

I’m absolutely loving first light and it’s probably one of the better games I’ve played so far this year

I typically play games on the “intended“ difficulty, but with first light, I decided that I wanted to try playing it on the highest difficulty and slowly work my way through it

I’m not great at video games despite how much time I spend on them - it takes me longer than the normal person to wrap my head around all the buttons and concepts, etc.

Sometimes it’s hard to remember all the different moves, and also I noticed the tutorial isn’t available in the tax sim

I took screenshots of all the combat guides and put them together, so I can keep them open on my iPad to reference to while I play

I hope somebody else finds it useful!

Upgraded at Costco - should I ship my s23U to the warehouse or drop it off in store? It was some scratches

I have an S23U and was eligible for an upgrade.

Saw Costco had promo for 1100 off for my phone, decided to go for it

Unfortunately my s23 ultra has a couple of scratches on it.

After talking it over with the T-Mobile associate, he told me that he couldn't guarantee that the warehouse would accept it, but given the promo he said we could try. Worst case is it get rejected by the warehouse, and I have to go through the process of getting it back / set it up again.

I also have a t mobile store ( not an authorized retailer, an actual store according go GMaps)

I saw I could also turn in the phone at the store, would that be a better option?

does anyone have a recommendation for an application on both iPad and PC, SketchUp and shapr3d way too expensive

I’d like to do the following:
- Blueprint / 3d model my house to some extent for furniture planning
- maybe plan out some woodworking ( I’d like to maybe build some components for my desk) / aformentioned furniture / custom shelving
- maybe be able to create edit some models for 3d printing. simple stuff

Not trying to do something crazy like build spaceships / any type of character / game modeling etc.

I’ve got an Ipad M2 Air with a Pencil Pro

PC wise, I’ve got a laptop with a stylus / Touchscreen, and a 3D Spacemouse (bought it a couple years ago before I got the ipad)

Thanks!

Is there any way to get an idea of when my upload speeds might be getting better? Both me and my parents live in central New Jersey, they're 15 minutes from me and get 100+ mbps. I get 35.

I'd like to be able to stream my PC and remote into play games but 35 mbps is pretty awful.

Unfortunately I'm stuck in an area where my only option for high speed internet is Xfinity.

It would be nice to be able to do the following:
Pressing button: Run Multi Action 1
Double pressing: Run Multi Action 2
Holding: Run Multi Action 3

Any way to make the color change faster when switching profiles on the Naga pro?

I've got a razer Naga pro that I use with different profiles. I need the ability to quickly switch between profiles which is easy enough with the different side plates.

However the one issue I have is that while I've assigned different colors to each profile, when switching between them it takes a second for them to fade to the other color

Does anyone know if there's a way to make this happen instantly?

Additionally does anyone know if there's a way to make the pop up that comes up when you switch profiles appear on top of games / Make it appear on all monitors? That would also be useful
