I wanted to share something that happened recently because I think it’s a simple issue that could be fixed.
The restrooms at the place are marked only with male/female icons and color coding—there are no signs that actually say “Women” or “Men.”
I’ve personally seen two men accidentally walk into the women’s restroom because they misread the sign. The same thing happened to me back in February as well. On this visit, I also saw an elderly man (probably around 80 years old) struggle to figure out which restroom was which.
It made me wonder: why not simply write “Women” and “Men” on the doors? Relying only on icons and colors isn’t always clear, especially for elderly people, visitors, or anyone who may not immediately recognize the symbols.
Also, why are women’s restrooms still identified primarily with pink and men’s with blue? A clear text label would make the signage much more accessible and prevent awkward situations like people accidentally entering the wrong restroom.
It was honestly quite embarrassing to have men walk into the women’s restroom, even though it was clearly an honest mistake. Such a small change in signage could prevent a lot of confusion and make everyone feel more comfortable.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to request that the management add proper “Women” and “Men” labels to the restroom doors?
