The Healey pass and Caha pass in Ireland
I’ve been playing through DS1 again building all the roads and I watched Hokum last night, which opens with the main character driving down these roads, and I couldn’t help but notice

#WARNING EAR SCREECHING SOUND IN VIDEO
I bought a pair of SC207 monitors in 2017 as an upgrade over my JBL 305. I've loved them and they sounded fantastic. However, around 2022, they suddenly stopped working and produced this odd sound in this video. They were out of warranty and Eve Audio just told me to take it to a speaker repairer. I found a local one and they told me it had something to do with the amp, so be replaced it on both, costing me $1,450 AUD. Link to my first post when I got them fixed
They were fine and still sounded great until fairly recently where the exact same problem happened and I am not going to be repairing them to wait another ~5 years of this cycle. I will also note that the monitors failed within weeks of each other.
I'm currently tossing up between Adam TV7 (also ribbons), Yamaha HS7, and JBL 306P monitors. Not interested in passives for this particular setup (desktop + JBl 310 sub). I've grown out of the audiophile mindset for the most part and am happy to stick to monitors in this price range.
For those that don’t know, there’s a song on the Not Kane Pixels channel called “shepardbossfight.wav (real)”, which has this face in the top left corner of the thumbnail/picture. I’m not going to draw any conclusions from it, but I wanted to get a clearer look.
It looks like there’s a larger outline around the face, and I can’t tell if below the face is either a neckline (like the opening in a collard shirt) or a separate, smaller body, cut down the middle with nothing above the shoulders
1.) the area I zoomed to
2.) adjusted contrast, brightness, etc.
3.) color replace to show better depth
He’s an artist I’ve followed for a few years now and he was one of the first people I thought of the first time I saw the movie.
That’s him in the last image.
The resemblance is pretty uncanny
Window muntins (the dividers used in panes of glass) used to be necessary for windows because glass could only be manufactured in smaller panels. It wasnt until the mid 20th century that they weren’t necessary, although they’re still used today but as more of an aesthetic thing.
The windows in the knock trailer are full panes. The doors in the knock trailer and this image also look to be the same doors or at least the same style.
The window frame and hardware in the knock trailer is very modern and clean, whereas the one in the new image is old, dirty, and weathered.
Not sure what to make of it, but thought it was worth pointing out.
Unrelated, but the creature clinging to the wall in the new image has 5 fingers.
I do, he’s directly experiencing the Kanye west affect. You could put their discographies under a microscope and find so much overlap in the quality drop.
It’s Nick playing guitar but how would I recreate this sound. Everything is a synth of we get technical. I wanted to post this in r/synthesizers but it doesn’t come up as a community for some reason.
I tried posting this in the D5 forums, but it's been pending approval for about 6 hours now. So, here is that exact post, and I'm hoping someone here might have some answers.
Hello. I’ve been using D5 live sync with rhino for about 4 months now. It’s been great, completely problem free. About a week ago, the livesync froze and crashed both rhino and itself.
I can load back into the rhino file fine. I can also load into the D5 file fine. It’s the second I enter the “d5livesync” command in Rhino that it stops responding. If I close D5, my rhino file is usable again, but if I keep it open it stays unresponsive.
The D5 window also doesn’t work, once I click “sync with local project” it cannot progress and it crashes. same thing happens if I try to make a new file.
I uninstalled and reintalled D5 (I am now on most current version). I did the same with D5 live sync (also now most current version). I haven’t tried a fresh rhino install, but I have updated it since this. Everything else in Rhino seems to work fine.
Let me know if any screenshots would help, I’m really at my wits end here.
