Should my paper pulp stink?

I’m making paper from cardboard scraps from the boxes I used to move into my new house. I’m following a rough tutorial and one of my housemates is also helping me since she makes paper. I’ve cut up the cardboard into little pieces and I’m soaking it in water in spare water/soda bottles I cleaned out. But since checking on them I’ve realised either the water or cardboard has this gross soggy smell (I know that sounds obvious because it’s literally soggy cardboard). I’ve only been soaking the cardboard for a few nights to a week. Is this normal?

Calendar and To-Do Apps

Anyone have any recommendations for calendar and to-do list apps? I’m neurodivergent so I really need something to visually plan out my days, weeks, months, etc. and it would be so much easier to have both features in the one app. I’ve tried finch but it doesn’t have a calendar, I just looked at Tiimo but again, the calendar aspect doesn’t really visually display what I have going on throughout the months. I also have memory issues so this is really important to me. Thanks!

What’s the best filter for sailfin plecos?

I need some fishy advice. I have a 130 litre tank for my sailfin pleco (she’s not fully grown yet so this suits her). When I did a clean yesterday I noticed the water level in the filter is VERY high, almost overflowing out of the tank itself. I gave the whole filter a clean and it was so backed up with waste from my pleco (they poop SO MUCH) and no, I didn’t clean the sponges, I know that’s where the good bacteria is. I did however give them a very quick rinse just to get all the gunk out to see if that’s what was blocking the water from flowing.

Anyway, after all my effort, the water level is still pretty high so I think I just need a better filter for fish that produce a lot of waste like plecos. Any suggestions? At the moment I’m just using the one that came with the tank so I obviously need something more advanced. Any advice is appreciated, thanks!!

How do you clean clothes that have touched mold?

Hi, so I’ve been going through a whole mold issue in my house at the moment (I’m going to be moving out as soon as I find another place because the landlord doesn’t want to fix it). At first it was just mold growing on the walls and stuff, typical Newcastle rental stuffs, but now I have this green fluffy mold growing on all my shelves that aren’t lacquered or polished basically. One of these is the shelf I keep my clothes on, so obviously I want to get rid of all the infected shelves and clean my clothes. But is it enough to just chuck them in the washing machine? Do I need to soak them in vinegar? How do I go about this? I have a lot of cardigans and knitted jumpers as well as velvet and corduroy materials that I don’t want to ruin. Please help 🙏

Is this mold dangerous?

I live in a share house (rental) and the landlord doesn’t really want to do anything about the mould in our house besides hand us a bottle of easy off mould and call it a day. I just noticed this today in my bedroom… Id been noticing what I thought was dust but when I took a closer look today, yep it’s mould. But is it the bad mould? I want to move out of this place anyway but should I move out as soon as possible now? I’m basically sleeping right in between 2 shelves that are being infected with this so I don’t really want to put my health at risk :/

Also, please don’t judge me for letting this “dust” get this bad. I’ve been going through a lot with figuring out housing while also losing my job and trying to find another. Please be kind.
