I’ve read through the FAQ like ten times now and I just want to make sure I understand how this works. If I have safer credit building turned on (which I do). Then when I use my black card it takes the money from what I have available, puts it into an account I can’t access, then pays off the “balance” of what I spent over the period?

I really just don’t want any surprises lol. I’ve had the black card for a few months and have been hesitant to use it, then finally caved and used it last night. Is there anything else I’m missing?

Not doing it, just was wondering. I don’t think I’d make ten miles on a bike.

I live in Iowa and we had a chain of gas stations called Kum N Go and Casey’s that both carry goji berry citrus. I swore I heard it was discontinued awhile back, yet we never run out here.

Is it just not that popular and they’re going through whatever syrup they had left? I’m immensely thankful because I LOVE this stuff. Like top 3 dews for SURE. I just don’t want to keep my hopes up and have it randomly disappear on me.

Sometimes I use the power given to me for evil. But usually it’s justified.

It’s Friday night in the capital city of my state. In the summer. That means an automatic full house for the next 48 hours. We have 130 rooms total and tonight was special. Out of the 49 check ins we had, everyone was SO kind and patient. Well…almost everyone.

Check ins start. The first hour is coordinated chaos like usual. Long line but moving quickly. Everyone is cheery and in a great mood! Then the second hour begins.

Almost on the hour, we have a family come in. Father, mother and daughter. The mother and daughter immediately have an attitude. Why? Not sure. I’m friendly to everyone until they give me a reason not to be. They have two rooms. I ask for two IDs. One for the adult in each room. IMMEDIATELY they have a problem. “If I booked both rooms under my name why should we have to give TWO IDs?!”

Because hotel policy maam. She huffs and puffs as she pulls out her id and makes her husband do the same. Then I pull out the paperwork. We’re a bit behind the times so we make guests fill out physical paperwork. You would have thought that I asked them to strip buck naked in the lobby from their reactions.

“PAPERWORK!? you should have all our information from the reservation we made!!”

So I casually look at how they booked. Of course. Spexedia. Spexedia doesn’t send us phone numbers or email for reservations. Not sure if that’s normal everywhere but here we don’t get jack.

After telling them they booked with a 3rd party and that they don’t send us the information, and another two minutes of huffing and puffing, the paperwork is signed.

Mind you the husband has been standing off to the side the entire time not saying a word. As the wife is handing me the paperwork she makes a quip about contacting the manager to tell them this check in process is unacceptable. (I’m the manager LOL)

That’s the point that I assigned both rooms as far apart from each other as possible. As I hand them the card to the room I get a fucking EARFUL. “These rooms aren’t together!? We booked these rooms expecting them to be next to each other!!!”

I look at her deadpan and say, “If you need anything else I’ll be up here until midnight! Thanks for choosing to stay with us!”

Crazy part is that I had one upgrade to give tonight and they were the perfect candidate for a two bedroom. Instead of an upgrade they bitched their way to a downgrade. Fucking people.

I just discovered capriottis last week. Their Philly is literally the most perfect sub I’ve ever had in my life. I had a few beers at grays earlier and started daydreaming about Doordashing a fat Philly when I got home for HOURS.

now I see they’re closed. Please. Someone. Give me the next best. I’m desperate for some meat and cheese

If that doesn’t make sense, I guess what I mean, does anyone here work night shift on call? I started working for this hotel a few months back. The hotel is entirely suites, and they offered me a one bedroom apartment suite to work on call from 11-pm-7am 4 nights a week, and a then also 40 hours a week of front desk on top of that.

I honestly jumped at the chance. And I know that my night schedule isn’t anything compared to most of yall, but the last month has really been dragging on me.

I may or may not end up getting sleep on the nights I work. Sometimes I get zero calls, and sometimes I get 3 per hour or more. Then a few days a week I work 7am to 3pm or 3pm to 11pm. So some nights I’m working from 11pm to 3pm the next day. Thankfully I get weekends off, but during the week my sleep schedule is WACK. I get fully rested by Sunday night when I have to be on call at 11 and then within two days I’m exhausted, and it carries til the weekend.

Does anyone have any tips for this kind of schedule? I also got promoted to GM of the hotel last week so I’m working the GM schedule on top of my regular hours until I get approval to hire my replacement. I’m tired man. I love this job, I truly do. I’ve been searching for a career for years now and this is the first time a job has felt not only fulfilling, but also not soul crushing. I love interacting with our guests and providing a great experience. I just need some help sorting out the rest of my life.

I recently went to a doctors visit recently to ask about peptides. I got on Mirtazapine a year or two after I got clean from heroin and fent originally just to try to help with the insane nightmares I was having from my decade of substance abuse. I was having horrific nightmares about people close to me dying, violently, multiple times a night.

That was 8 years ago roughly. Not only did it stop my nightmares, but it got rid of my anxiety and low grade depression within weeks. I wasn’t even ASKING for that. It was a blessing I never could have asked for. This drug has changed my mental health in ways I cannot describe. So naturally, I never want to stop. I am fully okay taking this drug for life. In the 8 years I’ve been on it, I’ve never needed a dosage increase. My nightmares have been coming back over the last year, but not enough to increase.

The downside, I’ve gained literally 100 pounds. Well….almost. I’m 5’9 and when I got clean I was deathly skinny and ill. I weighed 125lbs. I looked like I was days away from death. Over the years I have gone from skinny, to healthy, to slightly overweight, to technically obese. I sit at 219 pounds as of this morning. It’s not fast. It’s just very steady. This drug makes me INSATIABLE. I smoke a lot of weed so I know that doesn’t help. But the combo is making me fat as hell. My doctor greenlit me for peptides but I’d like some input if anyone has any here. My doctor said it might take a higher dose because of the Mirt but he is confident it will still work.

Can someone, ANYONE tell me what it’s like to not think about food for more than 2 hours? Please give me hope.

I was trying to order uber eats. I had my 50 dollars in spot me, and I tried to charge just 15 to my card. Immediately my card was declined, I opened the app and it acted like it was the 1st of the month asking me to agree to spot me again. Super weird.

I remember when he dropped his solo album in 2016. That shit literally changed my life at the time. I reached out to him on Twitter in 2017 and we talked for a few months and he kept hyping his second album. He said it was a few years away and I believed him because I figured he was steady producing.

Now here we are 9 years later. Went to DM him on Twitter and he deleted that shit. Can’t find any producer tags from him in the last few years. Last single was released in 2023. Mikey where the fuck are ya???

So I work for this hotel. I live on site as an on call employee. Over the last few months I’ve kind of become so important to the hotel that I can kind of do what I want within reason.

Last week I found a hidden room. I think it used to be a laundry room at one point, but the entrance was quite literally sealed off with a piece of plywood and hidden behind a large shelf. I work alone, so I waited til after midnight and moved the shelf and plywood and went in with a flashlight. That’s where I found 8-10 double 210v outlets. Grabbed a multimeter from the maintenance office and confirmed all plugs are still live.

So here’s my question. How many miners do you think I could realistically get away with powering without a noticeable power bill increase. It’s summer here now, and every room has just started running their AC units. The vacancy of the hotel ebbs and flows between 20 rooms sold, to 100 rooms sold on any given day or night. In my eyes it wouldn’t be TOO noticeable if I plugged 2-3 miners in right??

Noise isn’t an issue because this room isn’t surrounded by guest rooms, and shares a wall with the outside of the building. It’s also in an area inaccessible to staff. I’m not really gonna do this. But god dang if I can’t stop thinking about it.

Before anyone asks. I am the oldest employee here. My manager was just flown in last week and he has no idea how to even use the front desk software, and can’t be bugged to get even come into work for more than an hour a day. We also fired our maintenance man, so no one to worry about there. What do yall think? Bad or really bad idea?

Edit: So I just did some napkin math. A hotel ac/heating unit can use between 2500-5000w. A high end hydro miner would run 5500w max. This is legit just like us booking an extra 5 rooms a night for perpetuity right?? This is starting to seem like a way better idea.

Edit edit: I’m sorry yall, i have no plans of doing this. I just had a really rough shift and one or three more beers than usual and thought this would be a funny post. If you check out my post history you’ll see I just like to get drunk and have fun. While there may or may not be a hidden laundry room, I’m not gonna actually do this. I’m way too appreciative of the opportunities this job has presented me lately and I really like to blend reality into something that makes people laugh. Thanks for attending my Ted talk
