Drove myself to Tesco this morning

I've been getting my shopping delivered for the last three years as I have poor mobility. I recently managed to get a car but I've been struggling with anxiety over driving as it's been 13 years away from driving. So this morning was a big deal for me and I'm so pleased I managed it on my own

I finally got over my anxiety with driving last night

I haven't driven for 13 years and recently managed to buy a nice car. But I found I was terrified of the traffic and had terrible anxiety issues. So I went out with an instructor and he said I was a good driver with excellent hazard awareness and didn't need extra lessons. But I was struggling to rationalise my fears. Last night my husband insisted I go out for a short drive with him and it seems to have done the trick. I'm not apprehensive now and I just need to practice

How do I get my confidence back after not driving for 13 years??

I passed my manual uk test Oct '12 . Day before the test after a practice drive I wrote the car off doing a u turn. Still passed the next day. I drove for a year then had to scrap my car and stopped driving. Now my mobility is bad so I managed to get a nice car. I went out with an instructor yesterday who said I was a good driver with excellent hazard awareness and I didn't need any more lessons. Just to practice my mirrors . But the thought of driving terrifies me. My husband has been really patient and willing to help but this mindless anxiety is driving me crazy. I'm usually quite confident but driving genuinely doesn't come naturally so any tips are welcome. I can get out and about now and the longer I leave it the harder it will be

I have a Vauxhall astra elite 2015 with a driver mirror that moves by itself

I was adjusting the nearside mirror this morning when the offside mirror folded flat against the car without input from me. It popped back into place but it's happened again . I can't figure out why this is happening and I'm back driving after a few years off the roads so I need my wing mirror to stay put

Billys fish bar has the best chips

After a cancelled night out yesterday we stopped at Billy's fish bar on the way home. I've always liked their chips but these were superb . Best I've ever tasted. Fat, crispy and tasted AMAZING. One portion fed myself and husband and two hungry dogs. And we got home in time to watch a fascinating football match with France . Result

Finally found a decent car

I've been looking for four months for a car. And it's been a nightmare. I finally found my dream car yesterday and in a strange twist it was a neighbour who buys and sells cars. Its a Vauxhall astra that was a company car and only had 26,000 on the clock on a 15 plate. Its immaculate and finally I have my freedom

Giving away poo bags free

Got rather a lot of poo bags that are unwanted to give away. Roughly 500 in a box and about 20 rolls. Bio degradable but not all have tie handles. Either for collection or donation to a charity
