First photo is the little shrine I made and second is the first photo I took of them together after putting them into the tank for the first time. They loved canned green beans and zucchini slices, as well as putting their faces into the bubbles from the sponge filter. They always followed one another around the tank, and were seldom apart. Always peaceful and always on the move. Hummus, the darker one on the right in the first photo, passed away first. Tofu passed about 2 months later, I assume of a lonely and broken little snail heart. They are survived by their two much younger nerite friends, Cupcake and Muffin, third photo. They aren’t friends like Tofu & Hummus were, and are very independent.

I found a local person with springtails who helped me decompose their bodies and give them back to the nature, as I’m in an apartment and have no outdoor space to decompose them myself. Highly recommend finding someone with springtails if you need something like this done! The isopods apparently would have munched on the shells for calcium, but the springtails just wanted their bodies. Worked out really well 💜

Her original family just sent me this photo of her and her mom when she was a tiny baby, and it’s identical to how she sleeps with me for the past 2 years I’ve had her🥹

My two 6 year old nerite snails, Tofu & Hummus, who recently passed a couple months apart, are back together again.
