I’ve owned 8 cars in 6 months and I don’t know what to do

I’m 20 and work part time about $38 an hour after commission, I love cars they’re my life but I’ve run into an issue. I’ve spent $15000 on purchasing cars alone, I’ve made $20000 take home year to date, I have side hustles and have made money in other ways to support things slightly but it’s clear I have a problem, i still want 2 more cars so I can finish up my collection but that’s another $4500 and probably up to $5000, and I just spend this money like it’s nothing. I don’t have many financial responsibilities and I’ve been wanting to save, I had 1 car for 2 months and was doing fine but then got this car i couldn’t pass up. The things I want to do and do to these cars cost thousands of dollars. I just want to stop being a hoarder but I can’t. I want to have a car for every type of vibe I want to bring but I don’t make enough money for that, have enough space for it and obviously it’s never gonna fulfill me. I just can’t pass up a good deal. I’m not sure what advice I’m asking for but I just don’t know what to do

Officially 1/4 inch lower

Yea so not the transformation I was expecting, definitely a learning experience I think I dropped 1.5 inches but it doesn’t really look like a lot, but hopefully this setup will improve handling a little

I still need to drop the rear

Idiotic wrencher in training hammers it until it works (16 hours for 2 struts)

I got the knuckle hammered on enough to catch to bolt and did it as hard as I could, fortunately we’re back and it actually stayed. All it took was
16 hours
A severely bent strut clamp
Losing my brake line
Redoing and undoing everything a bunch of times
Severe back pain
Noise complaint
2 Dr Pepper and 2 arizonas
My patience
$120
A friend to hold the flashlight
Posting to Reddit 3 times
2.5 half watched YouTube tutorials
Cuts and bruises
Angry neighbors
And realizing that I still need to do the back

Thanks to everyone that helped and gave me advice, I figured out a chunk of it myself but came to see if anybody knew more than I did (which everyone did) but I brute forced a lot of it, I fucked up pretty bad and also didn’t do the wheel speed sensor and brake line holder for where the bolt is but I don’t want to risk undoing it right now but I’ll fix it later. As far as my brakes I have a new line coming in and I’ll post my car afterwards! Sorry for any bother

Was tired and installed my sway bar link backwards now I can’t get it back off

When everything was put together the link gave me no issue but now everything is halfway apart I’m getting all types of issues. Don’t wanna strip it.

Guy in front of me’s car smells like it’s about to catch on fire

All seriousness my car always had a little bit of burning oil smell whenever I pushed it which is pretty normal but I’ve noticed as we’re moving into summer the car smells like it’s running hot or atleast like burnt oil more causally, the cooling system was refreshed before I got it with receipts from the owner but is there some things I should keep in mind? I don’t have a million dollars to throw at it but I’ll invest in my car to keep it running good, let me know! Also thinking about a digital temp gauge because I don’t trust the buffered oem one

The e46 wins

After having the e46 the e36 and the e90, I can say the e46 IS the PERFECT blend between the two. The e36 is amazing but sometimes a little too raw😅 great weekend car for sure a little too fun. The e90 is outstanding it’s like the epitome of luxury but I have to admit it’s not as fun, I can practically fall asleep driving it and it handles outstanding, literally glued to the ground. But the e46 is the perfect mix between the two for me, it’s raw and analog and enough to have fun and it’s luxury enough to not mind daily driving it, it’s beautiful looking (although when I unlock the e90 and the door handles, headlights and interior light up that feeling is so cool) idk I’m just rambling now but I’m very passionate about this car

Selling my tannin red rear seats

Located in California Bay Area, my car unfortunately doesn’t have the foldable rear seats so these are useless to me since I’m not gonna cut my whole chassis for these. Let me know if you’re interested all “damage” is listed, mostly just dimples that’ll pop out with a heat gun and loose seams that need to be restitched. Let me know if you’re local or interested!

Solvent based paint from 1999, can’t respray and clear coat is peeling, what can I do?

There’s some big splotches of missing clear coat in the back, roof and hood. Otherwise it’s good all around. The previous owner said the paint is too hot since it’s solvent based and not water based and I can’t get it resprayed because getting someone to repaint this would cost me an arm and a leg. Is there any solution to this at all?

Top end sound? 94 325is

I’ve noticed oil is somehow getting on the top of the valve cover not sure how but I’m getting this sound in my top end but since and an older motor I’m unfamiliar with I’m curious if this is normal or not. I’m honestly not sure what a healthy motor sounds like or what could be wrong.

Faint whistling sound when on the gas and a check engine for codes that I can’t quite decipher rn but looked like o2 sensors and maybe something else.

Any help would be appreciated deeply

My new (to me) 1994 e36 325is

Lots of work to do, it needs

a full new interior swap
Blinkers
Headlights repolished
Clear coat redone
Suspension adjustments for rubbing left wheel (they’re too big 19”)
Shifter won’t go into first or second for manual mode
If I put it in manual it also won’t go back to auto mode
Blinkers blink absurdly fast
Transmission won’t get out of first when cold (doing a drain and fill today)
Needs the intake assembly finished
Tint redone
Door cards and speakers
Speaker and other similar wiring
And I think the power steering is working overtime

Overall excited to take on this project and put this car back to its former glory and take it even further. Thing feels insanely unsafe and fast going 90 compared to my smoother e46 and e90. It’s amazing (needs to be faster though)

Mirror won’t show the right angles (HUGE blind spot)

I’ve been messing with this ever since I’ve gotten it and it just no matter what I do won’t line up how it should. I just have a giant right side blind spot but the drivers mirror is perfectly fine.

I’ve only had this for 2 days so I have no idea how to fix this and couldn’t find much on it honestly.

My (20) under 10k 3 generation 3 series collection

2008 328i e90 I picked up 2 days ago, 1994 325is m technic I picked up yesterday and my daily project 2001 330i e46

Unfortunately departing with the 328i selling to my friend so he can be a Beamer boy with me (I also can’t afford insurance on 3 bmws at my age)

My daily project I got 2 months ago and have been working on it ever since I just did most of a tannin red interior swap just redoing headliner and rear seats now. Next is performance mods and maintenance (first)

And the 325is I just picked up yesterday, good mechanical condition has a few interesting bits when driving, interior is really bad so I’m gonna have to restore the whole interior but I got it for the beautiful paint and the m technic part

Dove grey -> tanin red conversion

Okay guys I’m not faking having tanin red (necessarily) but when I bought my tanin red interior the back seats wouldn’t fit in my sedan since theirs was a folding seat and mine isn’t so I had to dye the back seats of my car, super happy with how this has come out and I got a few more things to finish

Is this formula 400 worth getting back on the road?

Buying off my coworker, she wants $4500 but I’m still trying to talk her down. It’s out the DMV system, it’s a formula 400, and it runs and drives still. Obviously it’s not in mint condition and a lot of things look not the best, but I’m not all too worried about the radio and cracked dash and interior/paint.

I really want this car but I know it’s gonna be something I’m gonna have to put some money into to get it back on the road.

Haven’t started it yet but next time I’ll jump it and give an update, not sure where the carb is
