2026 BE AIML graduate with no placement: What path would you recommend in the current market?

I graduated in 2026 with a BE in AI/ML and unfortunately wasn't able to secure a campus placement.

I've been applying for internships and entry-level software roles through LinkedIn and job portals, but the response rate has been very low.

For those who graduated without placements and later built a successful career in tech:

  • What strategy worked for you?
  • Did you continue applying full-time, pursue higher studies, or take another route?
  • What would you recommend to a fresher in the current market?

I'd appreciate hearing from people who have gone through a similar situation and what helped them break into the industry.

2026 BE AIML graduate with no placement: Continue off-campus job search or pursue M.Tech for better opportunities?

I graduated in 2026 with a BE in AI/ML but unfortunately did not get placed through campus placements.

The current market seems very tough. I have been applying through LinkedIn and other portals but am facing many rejections even for internships and entry-level roles.

For people already working in the industry or those who were in a similar situation, what would you recommend?

  1. Continue upskilling and keep trying off-campus opportunities full-time.
  2. Join M.Tech (CSE/Software Engineering/CNE) at a reputed college like RVCE/MSRIT(mtech cse) to get another chance at placements.

I would especially like to hear from:

  • People who graduated without placements and later got jobs.
  • M.Tech graduates who joined mainly for placement opportunities.
  • Recruiters/employees who have seen how the market is for freshers.

What worked for you, and what would you suggest in the current market?

By doing Mtech cse at RVCE/MSRIT/BMSCE get me into a good placement ? Or is it waste of time ?

Need honest opinions only from current or former M.Tech students/alumni.

Is pursuing M.Tech CSE through PGCET at RVCE/MSRIT/BMSCE worth it for placements in 2026? I completed my BE in AI & ML from a tier-3 college.

  1. How are placements specifically for M.Tech CSE students?

  2. Are companies open to M.Tech students, or are most opportunities reserved for B.Tech students?

  3. What was your package and role after M.Tech?

  4. Do you think the ROI was worth the additional 2 years?

Please reply only if you are a current M.Tech student, alumnus, or have direct experience with these colleges.

Anyone else spent all 4 years of engineering mostly alone because of 1st-year branch mixing?

In my BE AIML course, our college mixed students from different branches in 1st year. In my class, there were only 3 AIML boys, while most AIML students were placed in other sections. Because of this, other AIML students formed close groups in their own classes, and when we all came together in 2nd year, most groups were already fixed.

I had good friends from other branches, but throughout engineering I mostly spent lunch, notes, and daily activities alone because everyone already had their own groups.

My question is: why do colleges mix branches in 1st year? Did anyone else face something similar?

My advice to BE/BTech freshers: if you're a local student, try to build strong connections with fellow local classmates from your branch as well. Hostel students often spend a lot of time with their hostel groups, which is natural.

Need M.Tech CSE class timings (1st & 2nd semester) at MSRIT – current students please help

Hi everyone,

I would like to know the regular class timings for M.Tech branches such as Computer Science Engineering (CSE) MSRIT especially for the 1st and 2nd semesters.

Some questions:

  • What time do classes usually start and end?
  • Are classes conducted every day (Monday–Saturday)?
  • How many hours of classes/labs are there per day?
  • If possible, could someone share a timetable or a photo/PDF of the timetable?

Current students or alumni from MSRIT, please help. It would really help me plan my accommodation and commute.

Thanks in advance!

seat reservations are different for each group under sc category this year

Those who hoped to get seat just by seeing previous year cutoff gonna be cooked this year!

This 2026 year will set the standard cutoff rank in kcet and pgcet for next year SC students!

Friend behaves like a close friend but never shares opportunities, only his successes. Why do people do this?

I have a friend from college. We talk a lot, discuss studies, exams, career plans, and sometimes share notes. He talks very warmly and behaves like a close friend.

However, I've noticed a pattern.

Once, he was discussing internship applications with another friend right in front of me. When I asked about it, he just sat there, made jokes, and never actually told me how or where to apply.

Recently, we both wrote PGCET M.Tech CSE 2026 and were discussing counseling, colleges, and future plans. He used to talk a lot about MIT Manipal—its campus, placements, reputation, etc. I even asked him whether he had written the MIT entrance test, and he said no.

Then suddenly one day he shared his admission letter showing that he had secured admission to MIT for M.Tech CSE.

What surprises me is that he never mentioned that he was applying, never discussed the application process, and never said something like "you can apply too." He only shared the result after securing the seat.

This is not the first time. He often shares achievements and successes, but NEVER shares opportunities or information beforehand.

Why do some people behave like this? They act very friendly and close, but keep opportunities to themselves and reveal things only after they have secured them.

Ration shop dealer charges extra ₹10 and gives 1 kg less every month – is this legal?

Hi everyone, am from Karnataka

I wanted to know whether this is normal or if our ration shop dealer is violating the rules.

  1. Every month, the dealer asks for an extra ₹10. If anyone questions it, he says it's for biometric authentication, processing fees, or some other reason. Most people in the village support him and simply pay.

  2. He consistently gives 1 kg less ration. For example, if a family is supposed to receive 30 kg, he gives only 29 kg.(If asked he simply says it's like that only )

  3. He has also fixed a very short distribution period. He tells everyone to collect ration only within a specific one-week period. If someone misses those dates, they face problems getting their ration.

  4. Also when our allotment ration is Ragi+ rice he only gives rice only when questioned no we haven't got ragi take rice only As far as I know, fair price shops are supposed to remain open on notified working days throughout the month and beneficiaries should not be forced to collect ration only within a one-week window.

Is charging extra money and giving less quantity legal? Has anyone faced a similar issue? What action can be taken and where can a complaint be filed in Karnataka?

College says I "rejected" an internship offer and wants ₹4,000 penalty. Did I actually reject it?

Need unbiased opinions from HRs, placement officers, lawyers, and students.

I am a final-year engineering student.

Timeline:

• 9 Feb 2026 – I was selected for an unpaid 5-month work-from-office internship. The company asked me to submit Aadhaar copy, permanent address, and college ID to prepare the offer letter.

• 9 Feb 2026 – I replied asking for the exact joining date.

• 10 Feb 2026 – The company informed me that the internship would start on 16 Feb 2026.

• The internship was unpaid, relocation to Bengaluru would cost me around ₹40,000–₹50,000 over 5 months, and the PPO (₹3.2–4 LPA) was performance-based, not guaranteed. I discussed it with my family and was arranging accommodation.

• 16 Feb 2026 (joining date) – I submitted the requested documents and requested a short extension for joining due to relocation and accommodation issues.

• Later the same day, the company replied that they had expected the documents within a couple of days and had already offered the position to another candidate.

• I accepted their decision and thanked them.

Now my college placement cell (ssit tumkur) says I effectively "rejected" the offer and wants to impose a ₹4,000 penalty under placement rules.

My questions:

  1. Did I actually reject the offer?
  2. Is delaying document submission equivalent to rejecting an offer?
  3. Does it matter that the company never specified a document submission deadline?
  4. Would you consider this an offer rejection or simply a delayed response that resulted in losing the opportunity?

Looking for objective opinions, not sympathy.
