Cracks in brick on brand new home in San Antonio

Not sure if this is the right sub for this question but I just bought a new build and have only been in it for a month and these cracks appeared, is this normal? Hoping a home inspector will chime in. These cracks weren’t there when we had the home inspection done.

Peri is so weird, I am on my period right now and everything smells so “off”

Specifically, I have this smell of stinky feet that is always in my face 😭 I haven’t had this issue since I was pregnant with my son. When I was pregnant with him 16 years ago my hands always smelled of stinky feet! I couldn’t let my hands get near my face or it would make me sick. Also, I can smell everyone’s scalp including my own and it’s not pleasant. Anyone else have issues with weird smells?

Can you PLEASE help me find a scorpion exterminator!?

I just purchased a new build in San Antonio (I’m not from here, moved for a job) and we have been in it for about 2 weeks now. Well tonight when I was showering, I look up only to see a baby scorpion! I have lived in the Mojave desert pretty much my whole life and never ever seen a scorpion in my home. Does anyone know of a good exterminator for this issue? Also, is this common here??

Perry Homes suck!

We just moved to San Antonio and researched what builders are better than the average and it came down to Perry Homes and Highland homes. Well we went with Perry and it has been a nightmare. They must hire contractors off the street to build these homes cause damn! And I know it’s better to buy a pre-Covid come but with the new builds the builders are offering lower interest rates so financially it makes more sense to buy new but these houses are a damn joke. I am not a professional and I can probably do a better job. SMH.

Engine shaking on 2025 Ford Explorer ST

I was parked, then put it into drive and the whole vehicle started shaking and wouldn’t accelerate. I tried to turn the engine off and it wouldn’t turn off. Got out, popped the hood and took this video. What’s wrong with it? I bought it brand new and haven’t had any issues. There’s only 24,000 miles on it.

What is this?

We are in the process of buying a home that is a new build so it’s not yet finished. I saw this on the air conditioning duct in the attic, what is it?

What was the point of these holes?

(Not sure if this is the right sub for this question)We are in the process of buying a new construction home and we went by there the other day to check on the progress and noticed these holes in random spots. What was the purpose?

Anyone have this issue with the 2026 Kia Sorento EX AWD?

I just purchased this vehicle and I have noticed that there are white particles all over in my cabin. It's on the seats, on the dash, on the middle console. I have black interior so l can easily see it. When I touch it, it smears like chalk. When I searched the internet it says something about corroding or flaking A/C evaporator core causing these white particles to blow through the vents. Could that be possible and has anyone else had this happen?

I don’t want to be an empty nester 😿

I don’t know how women do this. My daughter just graduated high school and soon she will live in a different state than me (for college) and I am just not ready for that. I had my daughter young (18) and it was just me and her cause the sperm donor ran off and disappeared. My daughter and I are best friends and I have been with her every day of her life. We to this day still sleep in the same room (not bed) together (my husband snores very loud). She is out of town on vacation with her friends right now and I walk into this empty room and just think to myself “wow, this is how it’s going to feel every day for the rest of my life”. I feel so empty and alone when she’s not here. I do have a husband who I met when my daughter was 1 and he chose to be a dad to her and he just doesn’t understand how I am feeling, he is a tough man (was in the marines) so he feels things differently than I do. This is the most difficult thing I have faced so far. How do you other mothers do it?

Should this part of my HVAC be strapped to my house?

It’s just sitting on bricks. We will be having a home inspection soon so I want to make sure everything is up to code.

International plan question

My mom and I share a Verizon plan, we both live in the United States but she is going to Argentina for a month so we have to add international package. My question is, do I only have to add it to her line or do I have to add it to mine also in order to be able to message and call her in Argentina and I will be in USA?
