Off-topic rant

CW: a little off topic I guess. But this is bugging me and this space is very inclusive so I feel more comfortable sharing my feelings here than anywhere else.

I really wish to be commissioned for fanfiction. I guess "requested" is the more correct term because I'm not really taking money. I'm literally just doing this for fun, so it's completely free. But I'm not really sure how to market this desire. I want to be requested for fanfiction, and I could literally just get it done in a day or 2 because I'm a pretty fast writer.

I even have very little rules when it comes to what I will and won't write, and I'll write for just about any fandom. I'm genuinely open to anything.

I don't know. I'm just really bored and don't really want to write original works anymore. I still want to write them, but I want to take a little time off to write fanfiction about actual fandoms. I'm not really in many fandoms, and I can't really think of any plots. I would rather satisfy other people's needs.

Genuine question, so pardon my stupidity

How are TransIDs bad but Aldernic terms good? Aren’t they the same thing?

Sorry if this is a stupid question. I literally just heard about both of these terms, and I'm not sure how they differ from each other.

I’m terrified for my 1st ever date because I was conditioned to fear males

IDK. I feel stupid.

Over text I’m (20F) a lot more confident and forget my actions have consequences. So I asked this guy (26M) out, and he said yes even though we’ve ONLY known each other for a couple days. So now we are going on a real, physical date together. By the time we have our 1st date, we will have known each other for a month.

I have a safety plan and junk. But I still feel terrified. He respects my boundaries and doesn’t push me, but my grandmother and mother groomed me into thinking “male = danger” because every day my grandmother would send me news articles about girls who got raped. And my mother constantly talks about how dating apps are a rapists best dream.

But I met this guy on a dating app… but he respects me and doesn’t push me to do things I don’t want to. I’ve noticed 0 red flags in him. So I’m just confused…

My gut is telling me something… should I listen and cancel our date and let my phobia win, or go on this date and get over my phobia of males?

Is it okay to just go by a "summary" of my identity instead of like a billion labels?

So I (20NB) have a ton of labels. Like around 500+ or something like that. I don't remember the exact number.

Anyway, I was on Tinder with this guy (26M), and he's a femboy. He was asking about my identity, and I just said that I'm non-binary and go by she/they and that I'm pansexual, which is basically just a summary of what I actually am because I didn't wanna weird him out and give him my entire Google Doc of labels.

I feel a little weird about this because I don't feel like I'm actually being truthful. So is this okay, or am I just overreacting?

I'm going on a date and I am absolutely terrified!!!

My entire life, my family has warned me against men. All throughout middle school, my grandma would share stories about girls who got raped. My mother advised me to not use any sort of dating app or anything like that because I could be murdered or raped.

And yet, they are confused as to why I have androphobia, which is the fear of men.

But recently, my therapist told me that I need to start exploring my sexuality and to just get out there and make friends or meet people or whatever. Staying inside and not talking to anybody is severely ruining my mental health and is only making my social anxiety worse.

So I downloaded Tinder, not really expecting much, but then I met this guy, and we're going on a date sometime next month, and I'm absolutely terrified.

Obviously, I took precautions like going to a public space and having my phone fully charged and telling people where I'm going and having my location on and stuff like that, but I'm still terrified that he's gonna be a creep or something like that.

My mind is just racing with every worst possible scenario. My social anxiety is really getting to me, and I want to back out, but I'm also excited and I want to go.

I'm not sure what to do. This is my first date ever. What do you think? Should I back out? Should I take more precautions? What should I do, because I'm genuinely just so scared?

I want to throw up. I'm so nervous.

Is aplatonic the right word for this experience?

So I have never once in my life desired to have friends or found interest in having friends. That's the simplest way I can put it.

I have never felt anything towards people who are considered my "friends". And the only reason I've ever had friends was because I had a romantic interest in them. I was trying to build a relationship before we started a romantic or queerplatonic relationship.

But at the same time, I somewhat desire a close companionship, but I'm not entirely sure if it's romantic or not, or platonic or whatever. I desire to be extremely emotionally close with somebody, but not in a platonic way. Like platonic, but a little bit more, where we can do romantic things together, but being strictly platonic If that makes any sense. I genuinely don't know how to describe this feeling I'm having.

I just view platonic relationships as a chore and a burden. It's not something I actively enjoy anymore, nor have I ever actually enjoyed having friends. Ever since I was a kid, having platonic relationships was a chore and a burden and just something that my parents and family forced me to do so that I could be "normal". But I would always ignore my "friends" and spend as little time with them because I had no interest in them, because I didn't care for them in the slightest.

Is this inappropriate?

So I was talking to my therapist about same-sex attraction today, and she said I'm at the age where it's time I start exploring.

And I don't know. It just makes me feel guilty because it feels like I'm using people when I'm not, or at least that's not my intent.

I’m very much NOT attracted to males. So IDK. I’m either lesbian or aromantic. I’m like 80% I’m lesbian because of my lifelong strong romantic feelings for women.

But it feels like I'm just using somebody to explore my own sexuality when that's not my intent. My intent is to see if I can find a lifelong partner within women. If not romantic, then at the very least a platonic partnership.

How do I accept myself?

How do I accept myself as someone who just recently figured out I was lesbian?

Like, I’ve just come to find I’ve never once felt comfortable or happy in a heterosexual relationship, but I’ve felt head over heels for my woman friends and romantic partners.

It now it kinda just hit me like a bag of bricks. I’m lesbian. That’s a huge thing. Especially with my comphet.

Is there anything to help myself accept myself as lesbian? I could use some help…

[Update] I’m coming out today!!!

I came out to my brother and he supported me!

He said he doesn’t care what my sexuality is!

He said he’s cool with me being asexual and genuinely thinks I’m biromantic or lesbian. But I haven’t figured out that part yet. That’s just want he thinks.

But I’m so happy! This went WAY better than I thought it would!!!

I’m coming out today!!!

I’m planning on coming out to my brother today! I explained what asexual meant yesterday but I didn’t say I was asexual. So I’m going to do that today at the car show.

He didn’t seem to HATE the term asexual when I explained it, he was just confused by it. He don’t know NOT being attracted to people was an option.

Any advice for coming out for the 1st time???

My therapist suggested I might be asexual. What do you think?

So, I was telling my therapist about this guy I like. But at the same time, I don’t desire any kind of intimacy, I find sex repulsive and never wish to personally engage in it with another human despite having a sex drive. Sorta the same thing with romance, but to a lesser degree.

Like, I understand when someone is sexually attractive, I have eyes, but that doesn’t mean I want to have sex with them. And if I do, it’s more like an abstract thought than a real desire.

I just simply don’t desire sex. I never want it.

Is my therapist right? Am I asexual?
