random laufey lyrics that scratch your brain

for me in “lover girl” when the lyrics switch from “i’m working over time to have you in my worlddd” to “im working overtime, you’ve become my whole
worlddd” . like it’s so satisfying to me for some reason it scratches my brain just right

freezing and reheating food

hi what’s the safest way to freeze and reheat food. let’s say i make chicken and gluten free pasta and there’s extra i want to save. i should wait for it to cool down then save it in container in the freezer? then the next day i want to have it for lunch. how long before lunch would i take it out of the freezer, and what do you guys find is the safest reheat method for your MCAS?

also do you guys keep any leftovers in the fridge? even just for a couple hours or over 1 night? or do you automatically put any leftovers into your freezer instead?

is anyone so scared of getting cyclospora

i live in the US and cases are rising so much in my state. i have been avoiding produce and lettuce as much as possible and only having cooked veggies but today i am having watery diarrhea and im so scared its gonna end up being every single day for weeks and scared that i have cyclospora. i know the illness already sucks on its own but i know it would be so much worse with my POTS issues as well. Has anyone here gotten cyclosporiasis?

What are the odds

What are the odds all the OG yellowjackets die and Callie is the final girl? I personally think Misty is gonna be the final girl but i’m wondering if you guys think they might pull some plot twist where Callie is in a final fight and she is the only one left alive.

(sorry if this is a frequented topic, i just recently finished the show and am new to the subreddit)

how much did your sleep improve changing from propanolol to ivabradine?

i have been taking propanolol for a year and it works pretty well for me. but i wake up multiple times a night. i just want to sleep thru the night so i can enjoy my days better. im unsure if waking up during the night is from pots or from propanol affecting melatonin.

also does your heart rate have to very high to be put on ivabradine? or should my doctor be able to switch me from propanolol to low dose ivabradine?

s2e9 i don’t even know if i wanna keep watching *SPOILERS*

i love this show so much and am really enjoying all the characters and plots. >!But Natalie was my favorite and i am so upset that they killed off adult Natalie. I don’t think a character death ever hit so hard for me. It’s one of those things where i’m not even sure if the show will still feel the same for me. i know i will still enjoy it but i will really miss seeing her :( i think it feels extra sad to me because she had just almost killed herself with the gun in her mouth a few episodes prior and lottie kidnapping her gave her a second chance at life. i finally felt she was gonna possibly be happier and be on the right track and not go back to rehab and drinking and drugs. I had so much hope!<

>!i cried so hard at misty saying “i killed my best friend” . i know there will still be a lot of teen natalie which makes me happy and is still giving me something to look forward to in s3&4 .!< Please tell me it’s still worth it to keep watching!

what is most likely to make you flare?

waiting too long to eat/not eating enough? bad sleep? eating but not getting enough salt? not enough hydration? stress? too much physical activity? too much stimulation? temperature changes? too hot? hormonal changes? an injury? etc

for me personally it’s waiting too long to eat or not eating enough is the main thing that’s most likely to make me flare. what’s your main triggers?

possible mcas or histamine intolerance?

hi how do you test for dao levels? is it through bloodwork with an allergist or gastro to see if your DAO is low? i have had POTS for 2 years but was always able to eat whatever i wanted….

but this past year i have gained new symptoms such as severe acid reflux, GERD, nausea, headaches, all greasy or acidic foods make me nauseous with just the smell or one bite. i eat chicken and plain veggies practically everyday at this point after cutting out many other meats and spices. i take zofran and pepcid which helps at times but i am looking into taking DAO and maybe allegra or some type of anti-histamine but i want to work with a doctor to be safe. THANK YOU

repost because it only got one comment before (food anxiety)

feel like i am constantly getting anxiety about my next meal and making sure i have food ready. I never leave the house without eating a full meal first and even then i’ll still pack a meal and snacks. I feel like every 3 hours im eating a meal because i can feel the fatigue and jitters coming. I also have to eat right before bed or else i wake up during the night. if it’s been 2 hours since i ate my body genuienly wont let me sleep i have to go eat and then try to sleep. last night i ate snacks around 1am yet woke up at 4am jittery and nauseous needing food.

has anyone found a way to be able to space out food better or not feel like life is so food focused. maybe i need more filling snack options so im not constantly making full meals?
before pots my life just felt like i was living life and just ate whenever and never had anxiety about my next meal because my body could handle being hungry for a little. now my days are centered around eating, cooking, meal prep it takes over my whole life to make sure i don’t flare or vomit or get pre syncope. it feels like i can’t even enjoy the day anymore or be out for long if activities aren’t centered around having food ready .

is this how it is for everyone with pots or am i doing something wrong 😭? should i be getting tested for something else on top of POTS?

also i am on meds (propanolol and midodrine) and lots of electrolyte drinks & vitassium supplements. i have had pots for almost 2 years now but i feel this aspect has gotten worse

share any wins of the week

Hi! i’m having a rough time mentally dealing with POTS, feeling lonely and just grieving what i expected from my life. Was just looking for some positivity if everyone can share something they’re proud of themselves for this week.

Last night i took a shower and didn’t have a huge flare. i fell asleep at 12am and slept through the night, i didn’t wake up at 3am which is a win for me.

earlier this week i had the energy to take my dogs to the park instead of just my backyard or a walk down my road.

today i exercised, went out to eat with my family, and got ice cream although i had some headache and nausea after, i rested and i am feeling better now some hours later and made myself a healthy but salty meal before i hopefully go to bed soon.
