Kidney biopsy

Hi

My eGFR is 60. Nephrologist wants a biopsy due to protein leakage. Is it standard to get a biopsy for a diagnosis? Bloodwork is showing positive ANA and elevated protein levels.

Secondary claim?

Service connected lumbar strain. Recent MRI showed cervical degenerative disease/cervical stenosis and bulging discs.

File cervical as secondary to back? What evidence is needed for secondary claims, besides VA doctor notes and MRI.

Thanks

Biopsy

Hi

I'm supposed to get a kidney biopsy on Monday, but I'm sick. The nurse at the hospital is going to call again tonight to see how im feeling. I'm feeling a little better, but I'm definitely not feeling good.

I'm not sure what to do. Anyone else get sick before a kidney biopsy?

Sick for the last week

I've had some type of infection this past week, and kidney biopsy is scheduled for Monday. I told the nurse at the hospital (biopsy performed), and she is going to call me today to see how I'm feeling.

Does anyone else get sick right before biopsy? Did you reschedule. Ugh

Covid infection

I've been sick for about 9 days. I've had UTI symptoms but no uti. Thought it was a MCAS flare, but not the usual flare symptoms.

I think it might be covid. Low-grade fever, back pain, congestion, and just feel horrible. I mask all the time and homebound for the most part. Covid tests are negative, but it's been 9 days.

Should I ask the doctor for prednisone ? I haven't been sick since 2022, so I'm out of the loop on recent treatments.

Frustrated

I hope this is the right forum to post.

I'm so frustrated. I've been having UTI symptoms for a few weeks, but urinalysis isn't showing infection. I'm still feeling horrible...lower back and flank pain, slight headache, urinating all the time, and fatigue.

High levels of urine were found, so a kidney biopsy on Monday. Could protein in urine cause UTI symptoms?

I called the nephrologist office last week, and they said I need to see primary to test for UTI. Which I did, hence the urinalysis with the primary doc showing no infection. Nephrologist office doesn't want to be bothered. Ugh

Is there anyone else who has had a similar issue?

Face mask during biopsy

Hi

I'm currently taking immunosuppressive drugs and wondering if anyone was able to wear a mask during biopsy? Unfortunately, my immune system is shot. Ugh

Flank pain, feel horrible

I don't have a UTI, but flank pain, irritated vulva area, nausea, and feeling unwell. I'm waking up at night and histamine dump, but 10x worse than normal.

Kindey biopsy

Does anyone in the group have vasculitis? If so, did you get a kidney biopsy due to protein in urine.

Here are my results. The doctor didn't go over the results. He just said I need a biopsy due to protein in urine.

Rated 30% for flat feet

My husband is having issues with his feet. His primary VA doc won't refer him to a podiatrist at the VA, though.

Any idea on what the next step would be?
