The frames vs prescription dilemma

I need really high quality progressive lenses such as Zeiss premium or Hoya. But I don't want to pay over the top for the frames sold in places that offer those lenses.
What do people do?
I would buy frames online if I knew they would look right and fit properly but those online camera fits just don't work for me.
Last time I needed frames, I went regularly to all the Costco's in my area (5) for over a year before finally settling for one that was less than ideal.
I have a small face and the styles that are around right now are all too large for my features. I look better with rectangular but everything I see is cat eye or round. And no, Costco progressive lenses do not work for me.
I would pay more for frames if I was able to walk into a place where they sat me down and brought me what they believed (due to real expertise) would be the absolute best shape and color

Fire away with any thoughts please ? Thanks

How long to leave system after discontinuing?

I need to discontinue TIRZ to determine if it is causing (or exacerbating) my severe fibromyalgia symptoms and fatigue. This is the only way I can figure out to approach it… To totally get it out of my system and then reevaluate before continuing again. I have emailed the Dr at BigEasy and although the Nurse came back with a pile of questions which I answered, I'm still not getting a response from them. Surely this is a pretty generic question that anyone could answer?

Why does KP Lab not offer a Comprehensive Metabolic Panel?

I didn't know what this lab was until I left Kaiser for a few years where it was routinely ordered by practitioners. Now I am back at Kaiser and I would like to have a CMP included in the labs to monitor my follicular lymphoma. What do I have to ask for?
Why don't they do this?

Thanks

Shall I stay or shall I go?

Shall I stay or shall I go?

I was diagnosed with fibro 20 years ago but always thought it was a misdiagnosis because after a couple of months I had no more symptoms. Fast-forward to June, after three weeks on GLP-1 injections (Tirzepatide), and boom!

I am in so much pain constantly and unable to even exercise, much less walk.

Trying to decide if I should stop the injections or continue. Obviously the stress of starting these injections triggered fibro, but that doesn't mean it's gonna go away if I stop them. And then I'll just have more stress because I'm 180lbs!

But I feel I need to at least get it out of my system so I can evaluate how I feel after that and then maybe start again if there's not much difference?

Any thoughts are appreciated

DUVET COVER CLIPS

If your duvet and cover don't have ties, clips like these work well. I've used similar ones for nearly 30 years that I got at Bed Bath & Beyond.

How to mend this?

Tried stitch wichery plus a piece of fabric but it would not bond.
It is a Tommy Bahama men's shirt and the blue part is where the buttons are.

A thorough checklist for what to do when spouse dies? And what to do beforehand.

California USA here.
One of the things I've noticed is that law firms are happy to do wills and trusts but not do great at telling you how to prepare all of your information so that those left behind know what to do and how to access everything.
I thought I'd see if someone has a really comprehensive list to share before I start creating one.
I'm talking about everything from phone passcodes and general passwords and login IDs, where verification codes are sent for access, how to handle bank accounts that are joint and have Social Security deposited into them, autopays set up for bills, and other nightmares like that.
Everyone knows to get at least 10 copies of certified death certificate, but there is so so much more.

Thanks

Reasonable length of time to wait for CT scan results?

Can anyone tell me what the current lag time is on getting CT scans read and reported? It's not like the old days when the reports were sometimes there before I got home. I had scan Monday but so far nothing. When I had a PET in January it took Almost 2 weeks to get the report and even then it was an email from my doctor referring to the report but the report wasn't even in the system.
The CT was done in Vacaville
Thanks

MRI WITH IV VALIUM?

Or, are there any wide bore or open MRIs in Diablo region?
I have a feeling Kaiser no longer sends patients to an outside facility for head MRIs with IV Valium, for those with extreme panic disorder. That would be me. I had one like that about 20 years ago.

How does Kaiser address patients with extreme panic disorder and claustrophobia who need a head MRI?

Thanks

Zepbound Quickpen -- Medicare Bridge

Has any Kaiser Permanente member here been successful getting Zepbound Kwikpen from Kaiser via the Medicare Bridge program?
Zepbound is one of the GLP-1 drugs Medicare provides for this program but my Kaiser PCP is telling me it is only Wegovy. This sounds illegal?

Thanks

Go from 2.5 to 5? Or less?

Weeks 1-4 were 1.25mg, and now on 2.5 approaching 4th week.
Thinking about the next increase.
Lost 1lb first 4 weeks then 4 lbs since then. Main side effect is super fatigue the day after shot and daily constipation control challenges.
Wondering how others who started low have increased at week 8?
Maybe go to 4mg instead of 5?
Then the next step would be 7.5?
Any experiences to share?
Thanks

Medicare Bridge Program for GLP-1

I meet the criteria and want to ask my PCP to process the form. If she refuses, can I ask a different Dr like my gastroenterologist? Or, can I challenge my PCPs refusal in some way?
Oh me of little faith -- every request I make of her is an uphill battle. No I don't want to switch to different PCP because I suspect all Kaiser PCPs are like this. Mine is head of dept and responds to emails in less than 24hrs. And she usually comes around if I push.
Thanks

Mattress Topper Recommendations?

We are now on our second new twin xl mattresses for split king bed. Returned Tuft & Needle. Bought Boring. Hubs likes but I don't. So instead of doing the whole return thing again I wondered if a topper might be good? I just need a little more hugging feeling rather than rolling on the firmness.
Thanks

What mattress next?

Going through mattress hell.
Have loved our original Tuft & Needle from 2016 (king).
Switching to split king with adjustable base, so need two twin xl mattresses.
Got Tuft & Needle Mint hybrids which were too saggy and bouncy, waiting for them to pick them up today. We already have their current Original in our guest room and it's too firm (but ok for that purpose).
Now have Boring Mattresses -- the owners are from Tuft & Needle and suggested their AF as close to the T&N Original. Tried last night and I hardly slept -- frequently woke up feeling hot, and it doesn't have enough give -- very hard. My husband was fine though and says he loves it. Sigh
Our hallway currently has our old king T&N and the two T&T Mints all waiting to be picked up.🙄
Anyone here ever found a mattress as good as the T&N original from 2016?
We just can't keep ordering mattresses with free trial periods, then having to return them, waiting for pickups. This is nuts. We don't like mattress stores because the prices are jacked up to pay for commissions.
Help!

Tuft & Needle is not what it used to be

We purchased two twin XL mint hybrids to replace our original 2016 T&N king that we have loved (switching to split king adjustable).
These mattresses were a total disappointment so we initiated the return process.
I just want to give others a heads up that they at first were not going to approve it because we were returning "multiple items" and said their policy is that each household is only allowed one return per calendar year. Had they not agreed to accept this return I would be taking it up with our credit card company. We purchased these mattresses based on the fact that they had a 100 day free trial. That is definitely deceptive advertising

Does injection site make a difference?

BEWL told me to inject just below belly button to right and left, alternating.
I am seeing references here and there about changing injection site and how that can make a difference. What is the strategy there? When would someone change the site and what other site would be used?
Thanks

Can Tirz cause shortness of breath?

Has anyone had it as a side effect? If so, what did you do?
I'm seeing my PCP tomorrow, but hoping to learn first if it is common for others.
I just feel a bit winded occasionally after exerting -- having to take a deep breath. I feel tired and I'm aware that can be a side effect. I am also dealing with the first fibromyalgia flare in 20 years which I can only assume was caused by Tirz, although it happened the day after using the machines at our gym for an hour for the first time, so maybe it was that. Or a combination. Wish my body had AI!
I am in week six, my first four weeks were at 1.25 and now I am at 2.5.
Thanks!

Tuft & Needle return -- any advice?

We are not happy with the new Tuft & Needle mattresses we ordered and have initiated a return online which is what they require. We had to pick three days next week for pick up by a third-party liquidator.

Question: At what point should we expect Tuft & Needle to credit our card back? They are not easy to contact on the phone. We now need to order the mattresses we want which will be from Boring Mattress but hate to do that until we get our credit.

Meanwhile we are on our old mattress on the living room floor 😭
Thanks

What mattresses next?

We have loved our Tuft & Needle original mattress from 2016.
We decided to switch to split king adjustable bed.
Ordered the Tuft & Needle mint hybrid twin xl which arrived yesterday and they are terrible. Wiggly, poor edge support, and poor fabric. Yes they will take them back. All their mattresses say "bounce back". I don't want to be bounced back. I want to feel the way I did in that original 2016 mattress. (Note, in 2016 we first tried to Casper which was awful and they took it back).

Now we don't know what to try. Ruled out are Temperupedic, Nectar, Plum, and SleepNumber. We've checked them at mattress stores and they just aren't right.

Has anyone who used to enjoy the original T&N mattress (when they only made one ) found one that's similar? Their new "original" is not the same… We ordered one a few months ago for our guestroom and it's way too firm.

Thanks!
