Has this ever happened to someone? I lost $3.78 on a sale for item that was $2.99.

Sorry for the bother everyone. I took my cat to the vet today because her ears were very itchy and I noticed some brown stuff inside them.

She's 12 or so and indoor only.

The vet took a sample and looked under the microscope and said there are no ear mites. The vet said there was an infection though and I have to give her drops twice a day in her ear. They also cleaned her ears out.

I brought her home and she's been shaking her head a little or pawing / scratching at her ears the past 4-5 hours or so. It's not continuous, but I notice her ears do bother her. She has eaten and drank a lot of water. Her balance looks fine and she jumped into the window ledge I built for her.

How long should I expect her ears to itch / bother her without touching them? I hate seeing her uncomfortable and itchy like this.

So I just upgraded my Acer TC-885. It originally had 12 GB of RAM and an i5-9400 with a GTX 1060 and 600W power supply.

I changed that to: 32 GB RAM, i7-9700, extra 1 TB SSD SATA, RTX 3060, and a Noctua NH-U9S cooler, and added Arctic MX6 paste.

Computer boots up fine. No issues at all. Looks great!

I run Cinebench R23 10-minute test and it crashes at the 6 minute mark each time. When I say crashes, I mean EVERYTHING turns off. No BSOD. Just complete loss of power. I ran it once with the panel door open and it did work. But the other three times, I got a crash.

The temperatures were very fine at the time of the crash. I had 77 C with fan running at 1143 RPM. I was running HWiNFO 64.

I changed the power settings to 99% and Cinebench works fine, but my score dropped by 17%. I also change PL2 using XTU down to 90W from 122W.

I change it back to 100% and it crashes every time at the 6 minute mark.

I keep the settings on 99% and now a game that I wanted to play (FF16) crashed twice (full computer shut down, not just a game crash) while compiling shaders. The first time got to 40%, the second to 80%, and the third did the final 20%.

I can play now but I don't want my computer to completely shut down in the middle of gameplay.

Any suggestions to make sure this game works? I don't mind crappy settings or 30FPS or whatever. I just don't want my computer to turn off. This has been extremely frustrating for me.

Can I just move PL1 and PL2 down to 60W and call it a day?

For reference, Furmark works fine for me as does XTU benchmark, and Intel Memory Diagnostic Tool for memory. And I've never seen my CPU or GPU get dangerously hot ever when running any of my stress tests. I check them thoroughly with HWiNFO 64.

So I'm designing a vacation through WV for 4 days, 3 nights. I will be going July 30 - August 2.

I've been to most of the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, but WV has been my favorite so far.

I previously have went to Blackwater Falls for a day trip (I live in NJ). It was lovely and beautiful and I use it as my main picture at the school I teach.

I booked a few expeditions this time around.

I will be doing a horseback ride at sunset in Davis on Thursday after flying in to Charleston.
On Friday I will be taking a train through Cass to Bald Knob and driving in the forest roads unpaved with a truck I'm renting.
On Saturday I am doing whitewater rafting at New River Gorge.
Sunday, I am flying home.

Is this a decent trip? I will be doing it alone with a camera.

What are other places to visit in WV for next time or taking a day trip? I don't mind driving. I put about 60k miles on my car per year. I drove to NC and back from NJ one year in the same day.

Anything to see in the southwest of WV or the northwest?

I (40M) just got home (July 4th) to avoid a rain storm at my house / apartment. I live on the bottom floor. I live alone on the bottom floor of a house. I live in NJ in a suburb of Philadelphia. It's an ok town but not affluent by any means whatsoever.

A random couple comes running up to my window and ducked below. I happen to see them right next to my window so I go outside and ask them if they needed anything. It was windy at the time, but not raining, but would start to rain soon.

I'm not originally from the town I currently live in so I don't know landmarks or anything like that in town. They asked me to drive them home. I said I do not feel comfortable doing that, but they could wait outside my apartment / house to wait out the storm. It shouldn't be long because it is a quick front.

Again, I have no idea who these two people were. I never saw them in my life. They were a random couple (I think) who ran up to my house.

Am I in the wrong for not wanting to drive them home? If I could have improved my interaction, please let me know. I feel guilty, but I also do value my safety.

I just purchased FF XVI for Steam on my PC. I also purchased a PS5 controller. I paired the PS5 controller with my computer via Bluetooth.

However, the game only works on the controller when I use a USB-C connection, and refuses to work wirelessly at all.

Is there a reason for this? Is there a way I can play wirelessly on a PC?

I’m currently working with a realtor in purchasing a house in NJ. I am currently renting and my lease ends July 31st. I put in an offer and the seller has agreed to it. I’m 40. I sent an email to my current realtor where I rent from that I will be vacating on that day. I had to let them know by today or apparently they charge me for another 3 years rent where a contract renews automatically. To be fair, my realtor company isn’t wonderful.

My rent is $2k per month. There’s a hole in my ceiling they deem low priority to fix and the pipes freeze every winter for months because there is no insulation in the pipes and they are forced to run space heaters in the basement 24/7 that brings my pseg bill to $870 per month. That’s a lot for a single person along with rent + internet + commuting fees, etc.

I previously purchased a house in 2017 but I sold it in 2023 because of an untenable HOA and the brand new house (built in 2008) was a lemon and had major problems.

This will be the first house I purchase that has current tenants. They promised me that the tenants will be out upon the sale of the house, but I decided to panic this evening because bad thoughts are racing through my mind where what happens if tenants refuse to leave or will I not have a place to live.

The tenants have taken very good care of the current property when I did a tour to buy. They have an aggressive dog they didn’t lock up and lunged at the realtor and growled so I wasn’t able to visit the backyard and shed.

Can anyone offer me advice on what I should do? Do tenants move out usually?

What happens if they refuse and I have no place to live? Where do I put my things?

Sorry, I just ran through every bad scenario in my head and I’m panicking.

2 years ago I took an amazing trip through Alaska through Yukon and Northwest Territories via the Dempster up to the Arctic Ocean + Ulukhaktok then down to Atlin BC and Whitehorse.

It was the first vacation I took in 16 years.

I'm considering taking my second vacation. This time to Torngat National Park.

Has anyone on here been there? Is it is as amazing as the NWT?

I plan on driving from Presque Isle ME to Goose Bay and using Canada Parks / Arctic Kington to plan a 4 day trip in Torngat. Then drive back to Presque Isle.

How is the QC 389 / NL 500 drive? Is it as scenic as the Dempster?

Anything to see in Labrador City as well?

It will be from Aug 12-Aug 24 if I decide to go this year.
