After 10 years playing guitar at campfire level I decided to finally learn the theory and I just learned CAGED, which is basicly ways to play different notes with the C A G E D chords by using different frets.
My mind was blown away but then I realised... the classic F and B chords are just a CAGED version of E and A moved a note highier....
My world is torned apart.

I'm afraid of buying a Quest 3s...

https://preview.redd.it/2g6vswrww9ch1.png?width=960&format=png&auto=webp&s=74117771eae2379bed89bb2d099995e920eac482

I love VR games and I really want to play them, but I'm afraid of making the wrong decision there... Let me explain my history with VR.

3 years ago, after I got my first job, I was living with my parents, so it was enough to buy myself some cool stuff like upgrading my PC, a Switch, a new iPhone, a Steam Deck, and also I got a Meta Quest 2 (not everything in the same year), and my biggest disappointment was the MQ2.

I got it brand new and was hooked from the start. I always loved 3D experiences and hanging out in VRChat, creating 5 monitors in a virtual display, watching a movie from the moon, and the best of all was Beat Saber.

But just after a single week with it, I got an unbearable joystick drift, and in my country you can't just buy a new one without paying the price of a new MQ2. But I was really hooked on it and tried to move past it. The second week, the second joystick started drifting and the rumble in the right controller stopped working, making the Beat Saber experience miserable...

I couldn't bear it anymore and just sent it back under warranty and got my money back. I thought of buying a new one, but what would guarantee that my experience with the hardware wouldn't be the same? So I bought a Switch with the money.

After a few months, the MQ3s released and I got the urge to buy it, but that fear held me back since the joysticks, from what I've heard, are the same and the price was too high in my country. This year Valve announced the Steam Frame with TMR joysticks. My problems with VR seemed to have been solved, but the Steam Machine released here for 10 minimum wages, so I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to afford that much, even more now when the MQ3s is selling for 1/5 of that price here...

I don't know if I should just buy an MQ3s and try my luck again or work my ass off and buy an SF, I just know that I really loved the VR experience and I even sometimes pretend that I'm playing Beat Saber while watching YouTube videos of it...

What's your take?

Pc turns on for half of second and turns off

Hello, thats a 5yo pc that I have and given my gf, it has never given problem but today when she turned it on it truned the lights on for half of a second and turned off.

My guess is thats the mobo or font but im not sure.
The only thing I troubleshooted was trying another outlet and turning off the switch followed by pressing the power button to release all energy on pc and turn it back on.

None of that worked. Do you guys know what could it be?

How Tall are the Games in your Library?

https://preview.redd.it/q4jrwymsr59h1.png?width=1880&format=png&auto=webp&s=f3e86def13e270da10953ffb410ef5643b071454

I know the title doesnt make sense but, lets imagine that steam was like a game stop and all the games you have on steam are physical media, a game cover usually has around 0.55 inches (14mm) so, if you were to measure your library collection how large would it be?

I for exemple have 142 games in my library (rookie numbers) so it would be 77.9 inches or 198cm.

I was thinking bout it bc when we look at our digital library it doesnt look so big as a physical media collection and I was surprised of the numbers when I did the math.

Just a fun little post.

I need an extension USB-C for a cleaner setup.

https://preview.redd.it/18cw7xmuqk6h1.png?width=1443&format=png&auto=webp&s=49bf2a7cc85893ca15446e649f9e84be70365f6b

So, I’ve been playing PC games on my TV using my Steam Deck with Moonlight + Apollo. My gaming PC stays in my office, and this setup has been working surprisingly well, but is a nightmare lol.

To reach 4k 60 I use an adapter hub on my steam deck that plugs hdmi, ethernet and also charge my Steam Deck. I also use it as my controller since its amazing for playing PC games.

Tho as you can see on the image I did, I'm very sad with the ammount of cables in the way and weighting my Steam Deck. The solution I found was to get an extension USB-C cable (I need 2 meters) and hide the cable hell behind my TV.

However I'm not sure of which kind of cable I should buy... I am afraid of buying a bad one and losing internet, charging or video data. Since a lot of data is going trough that adapter I need a good one.

Has anyone gone trough that before? Any ideas, recomendations, tips or insults?

Why does the gaming community suddenly act like the Steam Deck is dead?

https://preview.redd.it/j7udt0tako4h1.png?width=1613&format=png&auto=webp&s=1941e40c1200e3d79a49608890c43db1159aae01

I'm not an early adopter. I got mine a few months before the price increase because I needed a new laptop for some programs, and I also wanted a gaming device for a very boring trip I was taking at the time. It felt like a good middle ground.

I really loved the Switch, but I hated its limitations. I was already building a PC library, and with Steam Cloud I wouldn’t need to choose between portability on a handheld or performance on PC anymore. Combined with the mods I like to do... it was the best choice I ever made!

I follow a lot of gaming news sites and YouTubers, and they always had a lot of respect for the Steam Deck, even the ones who didn’t own one. It’s the father of the PC handhelds after all, and it always had one of the best price-to-value ratios, at least before the price increase. The fact that it’s basically a plug-and-play PC was also amazing.

But after the price increase, the respect from the gaming community seems to have vanished. I was watching a video from ElAnalistaDeBits comparing the graphics of 007 on Xbox, PS5, and Steam Deck, and a lot of people in the comments were asking why anyone would bother comparing the Steam Deck since it’s “already dead.” I’ve also seen other content creators saying it’s dead and making fun of Steam Deck owners.

That’s very sad because, yes, the new prices make it not worth it for a lot of people anymore, but it still has a huge community. Roughly 8 million devices have been sold, and even though that’s a small number compared to companies that have been selling consoles for 30+ years, it’s still a big enough number to make it relevant.

And all the good stuff about it is still there: the easy repairability, Linux and Proton, the modding capabilities, the trackpads, the OLED screen, the huge community, and the ease of use. And a lot of us got it while it was still at a great price!

But now people treat us like we have the worst device ever, completely ignoring all the good things about it and the fact that many of us bought it before the price hike. I know that here we all know we have a great device and that it was a great decision. For some people, even at the new price, it’s still worth it. But it feels like we lost a lot of the reputation that the Steam Deck had....

Sorry for the long ramble lol, but what do you think of it?

30 Hours In and I Barely Know What’s Going On LOL!

Hello! I started this game about 2 weeks ago and have around 30 hours so far. The game really clicked for me when I decided to leave the main quests for later and started doing side quests, meeting NPCs, and exploring cities.

But because I’ve done very few MSQs, I’m feeling a little lost in the story... and English not being my native language doesn’t help lol.

I stopped at “The Horn of Jwrlm Wydfjnksd” quest, and I barely know anything about the Stormcloaks or the Empire. From what I understood, someone (I think Ulfric?) killed the emperor??? Or maybe I completely misunderstood that...

I don’t know if I’m confused just because I’m still early in the main quest, but it feels strange that I’ve learned so much about the world just by talking to NPCs, while still knowing so little about the bigger picture... especially the ideals of each side and where they came from.

The best help wouldn’t be someone simply explaining the whole lore to me, but actually guiding me on where I can learn more inside the game. Like: “read this book,” “talk to this NPC,” “visit this town,” or “do your F main quests!” LOL!

My old cat wont stop meowing

I have a 13 yo female cat. We got her when she was a kitty and she always meowed super loudly, almost screaming, the the reasons she does that is for food and attention. When we are looking at her she meows loudly but when whe arent, oh boy she meows at the top of her lungs.

She went to the vet multiple times and docs always says shes super healty just a tiny bit overweight but nothing bad.

She was pretty playful for the first 4 years, but she has not been slightly interested in playing activities for almost a decade!

I was out of my parents home for 5 years bc of college but I would visit them every weekend and she would always meowed super loudly when she sees me.

The problem is that my parents were not as patient to her as I am and the would yell at her and sometimes even give a “educational slap” on her, it works for a moment but she never learns and goes back to meowing a few hours later.

I moved out to my new apartment the last week and brought her with me, I was afraid that she would be unconfortable in a new place but shes super happy just to be back with me again. But Ive already got some complaints from neighbours about the sound and dont know what to do…

Also she does that sometimes at 4am wanting to be petted and doesnt stop until I do or yell at her and even then sometimes she continues and I have to give her a little slap in the butt and I hate doing that and im here to learn what I can do. All the doors in the house are open, she could just sleep with me but she want to stay at the office.

Im afraid of having doomed my game

Hello I would like to first explain my experience on skyrim and why I might have F everything up.

I tried the game once on my switch when I was in a boring travel and played around 3 hours only focousing on main story quests and it bore the hell out of me.

Jump 2 years later and im trying it again on my pc and steam deck, done some main quests again and was getting bored so I started just wandering around and doing whatever comes in mind, met some npc, started getting interested on BattleBorns and GrayBeards fights and became a Companion and when I saw I already had 12 hours of game with less main story than my switch save and having a blast.

Naturally I started searching more about the game and saw a video for early game tips, even tho im trying to go blind. The guy in the video said not to be a jack of all trades and focous on only a few upgrades, mainly on the first 10 levels or the enemies will level up with you and you will have a hard time.

That scared me bc im doing just that and am afraid of enemies getting too strong for me to handle bc im already lvl 8. I also dont want to start a new character bc I like the direction this one is going. I also heard that reseting perks is a pain…

So now the Skyrim world that looked so free and full of posibilities is looking rather locked behind good choices…

Idk if im over reacting or if there are solutions if I make the wrong leveling up calls and wanted more experienced takes around it!

Skyrim as a forever game

I heard a few days ago one guy talking about how Skyrim could be his forever game since he doesnt play with any mods and have 6000+ hours into, and a lot of ppl agreed with it.

Im still new to the game, I've ditched the main story and am basicly doing just sidequests and living in skyrim and having a blast but...

What do you do after finishing all missions in the game and level up everything? 6000+ hours without mods seems absurd to me!
