Judas Priest

Listening to Judas Priest right now. Sin after sin and killing machine in particular. Both super amazing albums, and I don’t understand the under appreciation for each. They’re still acclaimed albums but not like the others. They live in the shadow of albums like stained, class screaming for vengeance, painkiller, etc. these albums are on par and if not better than the above mentioned. Anyway, can’t go wrong with priest and all their stuff is really good. Also Judas Priest is better than maiden, just had to say that. What are you guys’ favorite Judas Priest albums/songs?

Best thrash song named tormentor.

We have 3 songs named tormentor

Destruction- tormentor
Kreator- tormentor
Slayer- tormentor

After listening to all 3 I have my ranking

  1. Slayer- very catchy song and definitely the best vocals of each.

  2. Destruction- great solo and the longest of the two which is why it’s better than Kreator

  3. Kreator- still a good song. Mille’s vocals fit the title perfectly, just not as much good musical content as the others.

What you guys’ ranking?

Best album production wise

For me Megadeths best production is youthanasia. Amazing dry guitar tone with almost no effects, Dave mustaines best vocals, a very deep and sharp bass tone, and the drumming is very crisp and dry is well. I think it’s a perfect blend altogether that captures Megadeths post rust in peace 90’s years. I also have a soft spot for so far so good so what which is usually considered their worst production. I think the rawness of mustaines vocals and the flanger on the guitar makes for an awesome punk infused thrash album. What do you guys think is their best production?

Anthrax 3 singles

What does everyone think of the new anthrax singles? Do they sound like a very good album is coming up, does it sound better than any of the recent thrash albums from old school bands, and how would you rank the singles so far?

My ranking:

It’s for the kids
Everybody’s got a plan
The edge of perfection

What do you guys think?

System of a Down

What do you guys think about System of a Down?
They got me into metal about a year or 2 ago. I started with nu metal, but gradually disowned the genre and listened to more of thrash, osdm, and traditional. I’ve seen hate on soad by elitists, but I’m going back and listening to them right now and they don’t really sound like your average nu metal band. Not really even nu metal at all. Anyway, just wanna know what elitists think.

1985 thrash ranking

Rank these 3 thrash metal albums released in 1985

Megadeth- killing is my business… and business is good!

Slayer- Hell Awaits

Anthrax- Spreading the Disease

The order of the pictures are my ranking best to worst. Hell awaits and kimb are basically tied. Spreading the disease is still amazing but fails to be as thrash as the the other albums.
What are you guys rankings.

Kreator album suggestion.

I’ve been obsessing over pleasure to kill recently and basically know the entire album already. What’s the next album I should listen to after that. If someone could give me a listening order of every album that’d be much appreciated.

Kreator-pleasure to kill

I used to put this album off to the side at first when I first heard it because I though every song sounded the same, so I didn’t care much for it, but man now that I check it out more it’s so damn good. The riffs are top notch better than any thrash albums I heard so far. They sound evil, yet have a sense of melody. The vocals by Mille are very good also, he sounds like a madman. The drums are also very good too, the Tom’s sounds like tin cans for some reason and I love it. The bass cuts in the mix nicely too and is a very good addition to the mix. Anyway that’s my rant about this album and how good it is.

Laaz rockit

What do thrash fans think about these guys, I’m listening to the debut and like it so far, it’s not thrash, more just traditional metal, but I know they are considered a big thrash band. I never see them get mentioned much however and want to know what thrash fans think of them. Any favorite albums/songs?

German thrash question

I’m trying to get into German thrash, and more extreme thrash in general, I’m listening to Kreator and the early stuff rely’s heavy on skank beats as a main core of the song, which isn’t bad but does get a little boring after a while, especially when trying to remember what songs sound like what and what albums I like better than the other. They kinda sound the same. Sodom on the other hand for me blends melody and heavy skank beats perfectly, a good song example is tired and red from agent orange. My main point here is what bands sound more like Sodom in the way I explained, and what Kreator album are heavier on melody and songwriting.

80’s thrash badassery

If anyone was alive in the 80’s which thrash bands were considered the most badass, as in the name, music, and overall imagery of the band.

The first that comes to mind is slayer, metallica, and maybe Megadeth.

I just wanna know how it was in the 80’s/90’s form anyone who was alive and into the scene during that time.

Some that didn’t make the spot but are still good are: tom Araya, Joey belladonna, and Dave mustaine (I’ll always have a soft spot for his vocals because Megadeth is my favorite band ever)

I’m sure this has been asked but does anyone know if there’s an official release date for the vinyl, or how it get information on it?

Chris Barnes

I’m not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not but I’m gonna say it. Early Chris Barnes is a top three death metal vocalist behind John tardy and chuck Schuldiner. His early stuff is insane and very hard to replicate, and he pioneered brutal vocals. But that’s just me, what do you guys think?

What bands are considered the gods of metal?

For me it’s: Black Sabbath Iron Maiden Metallica Judas Priest slayer Megadeth and Motörhead

I know this doesn’t really matter because taste is subjective, but I do think it’s good to set a standard especially for beginners.

Let me know your thoughts.
