I mostly use hardware groove boxes when sequencing, but I’ve heard that Drambo is great so I want to give it a try.

If I’m not interested in building my own instruments in Drambo and just want to use existing plugins, what’s the best way to learn its workflow? Are there any tutorials you can recommend for that?

My interest is in making full tracks and releasing them as part of an album like I would with other groove boxes, such as Elektron devices. Is Drambo the best for that?

I like a lot of the synth apps on the iPad. I want to be able to run audio from the iPad into my MPC, and at the same time use an external MIDI controller to input notes on the iPad apps.

I'm looking for an integrated amplifier, and I've read that the 90s and early 2000s had some great units. I'm only interested in playing music and not any other kind of uses. I'd be ok with a 2-channel or 4-channel and would need to run a sub. I'd have to be able to hook up an AirPlay unit to it for streaming.

If vintage isn't the best way to go, then I'm certainly open to something modern.

I'd like to stay under $1k but am flexible on price.

Why can't I do something so basic as erase a track?

I have the OP-XY with the latest firmware. I have held record and stop down at the same time. I can still here a four-on-the-floor kick. I've held down bar and selected "clr notes." I can still hear it. I've held down bar and "clr all." I can still hear it. There are no notes that are lit up. I restart my machine. I can still hear it.

It's pretty pathetic to have these kinds of bugs on a $2,300 device.

I originally started with the Tracker Mini and thought it was pretty good. Then I got the M8 and think it is much, much better -- pretty much in every way except screen size.

Does anyone still keep both? If so, what's your thinking on that?

I'm just trying to decide whether to keep the Tracker Mini or sell it, and right now my inclination is to sell it. It's very easy to use and has a big screen, which is helpful for these 51-year-old eyes, but I've noticed that I reach for my M8 far more often than the Tracker Mini, which I haven't picked up in a while. But maybe some of you who own both can let me know about some use cases for the Tracker Mini that I may be overlooking.

I do most of my work in Logic, by the way, so the M8 is largely a couch/coffee shop/travel/patio/I don't feel like doing work at work device.

What program(s) do you guys use to store all of your .wav file samples in one place and listen to them in that place?

I've mostly worked with synths before, but now I have a lot of samples that I just want to listen to in order to decide what I'm going to keep and what I'm going to junk. But they're not organized in a single place, and every time I pull one up to listen to it, it opens it up in Apple Music. This is a very inefficient way of doing things.

I just got the TR 1000. How is it possible that in 2026, on a $2,700 device, Roland STILL is not making its USB class compliant???

And we're still doing updates through USB sticks instead of directly through the USB cable connected through the computer?

Then downloading the app requires a cumbersome setup process instead of a simple download.

I'm just astonished that Roland is still so backwards at times. I've always liked Roland sounds, but their poor user interfaces, awful manuals, cheap screens and a series of small annoyances made me give up on their guitar hardware a long time ago. This and the MC 707 are the only Roland products I have now after years of using Boss stuff.

Does the M8 support multisamples?

I'm not actually trying to sample into the M8. Instead, I either want to use my existing multisamples and bring them into the unit, or combine my individual samples into multisamples. I don't see an option in Covert With Moss.

Is this possible? If so, can someone link me to a way to do this because evidently I'm incredibly stupid because I haven't been able to find a way. Thanks.

I’m looking for a portable speaker with the best sound quality. It has to have a battery, but the battery time is not important. It has to have a line in. I don’t care about any smart features. In fact, I’d prefer that it doesn’t have those. I’m willing to buy new or used and don’t have a price limit.

The one I‘m considering now is the Marshall Kilburn II, but I don’t know much about these speakers, so that’s why I’m looking for suggestions.

The TR 1000 is back in stock, and I've been considering it, but not all that strongly. I have the Roland TR-8S and the Elektron Analog Rytm MK2, and I'm happy with both of those. I don't really care about analog 808 and 909 sounds. I was just wondering if there are other things the TR 1000 can do that are special and can justify its substantial price.

Given what I already have and the videos I've seen, my inclination is to say no. But I wanted to get feedback from people who have one to see what their thoughts are on it.

I'm new to the M8 and have spent the past few days learning this cool little device. I'm comfortable doing a lot of things, but there's one thing I'd like to do that I haven't been able to figure out yet, and that is how to fade notes in a phrase.

So let's say I have a melodic chain with four phrases in it, and at the end of the last phrase playing I want to fade out the last note and transition into the next melodic chain. I've been using the FD/FE/FE/FE chain with KIL at all three of the FX slots, and that works ok. But the problem is that there's still a lot of overlap between the last note played and the next ones starting.

Is there a better way to do this?

I recently got the Ableton Move and instantly fell in love with it. It's such a masterpiece of design that combines outstanding functionality with the most logical user interface I've ever seen on any groove box, and I've owned all of the major ones produced in the past several years.

The only thing I wish is that there was an 8-track version. You certainly can do a lot with 4 tracks, but I think 8 would be a sweet spot. I know the Push 3 is out there, but that's a much larger unit that isn't really portable. I tried the 1010 Bento, which has many similarities to the Move and also has a terrific user interface, but that thing is a buggy mess from what is, frankly, a pretty shitty company. It has gotten on my last nerve, and it's still several firmware updates away from being a fully fleshed out device. I'm skeptical that it ever even gets to that point because it's an underpowered device that manages resources poorly. I'll probably end up selling mine.

What I'd love to see is an 8-track Move that retains the same outstanding workflow but more I/O and better battery life. I think something like that would instantly be the best groove box on the market. Basically, it would be something in between the current Move and the Push 3 standalone.
