M8 Multisamples

Does the M8 support multisamples?

I'm not actually trying to sample into the M8. Instead, I either want to use my existing multisamples and bring them into the unit, or combine my individual samples into multisamples. I don't see an option in Covert With Moss.

Is this possible? If so, can someone link me to a way to do this because evidently I'm incredibly stupid because I haven't been able to find a way. Thanks.

Man whose living relies on consumerism complains about consumerism

This hypocrite is why I do not like ANY of these synthfluencers/geartubers/shills (except the Bad Gear guy, who's hilarious and awesome). And people who have parasocial relationships with them are just WEIRD.

They want us to pretend they're not conning us while they're conning us.

Under the notion that a broken c(l)ock is still right twice a day, though, this fuckface did teach me how to use the Dirtywave M8, which I very much appreciate.

I still don't like him.

Sound quality, battery, line in

I’m looking for a portable speaker with the best sound quality. It has to have a battery, but the battery time is not important. It has to have a line in. I don’t care about any smart features. In fact, I’d prefer that it doesn’t have those. I’m willing to buy new or used and don’t have a price limit.

The one I‘m considering now is the Marshall Kilburn II, but I don’t know much about these speakers, so that’s why I’m looking for suggestions.

Thanks.

This great deal makes even Teenage Engineering blush

Look -- you can buy this useless piece of shit for the low, low price of nearly $14,000.

You'll be the envy of the dorkiest, most unkempt, palest, virgin-est dufuses of the music world everywhere.

Good news about future of Maschine

https://community.native-instruments.com/discussion/51121/inmusic-shares-more-about-the-positive-future-for-native-instruments

From the interview: "Maschine has its own path. Maschine and MPC are different tools for different approaches, and they're going to stay that way. Jack is clear that Maschine deserves, and will get, its own focus and investment."

As someone who uses my MPC now more than my Maschine+, I still very much prefer the user interface of the Maschine+ over an MPC. I'd love to see a Maschine+ MKII that can run a hell of a lot more Kontakt plugins. And the Maschine software on a computer is miles ahead of MPC software.

Thoughts on Roland TR 1000

The TR 1000 is back in stock, and I've been considering it, but not all that strongly. I have the Roland TR-8S and the Elektron Analog Rytm MK2, and I'm happy with both of those. I don't really care about analog 808 and 909 sounds. I was just wondering if there are other things the TR 1000 can do that are special and can justify its substantial price.

Given what I already have and the videos I've seen, my inclination is to say no. But I wanted to get feedback from people who have one to see what their thoughts are on it.

Thanks.

Fading notes

I'm new to the M8 and have spent the past few days learning this cool little device. I'm comfortable doing a lot of things, but there's one thing I'd like to do that I haven't been able to figure out yet, and that is how to fade notes in a phrase.

So let's say I have a melodic chain with four phrases in it, and at the end of the last phrase playing I want to fade out the last note and transition into the next melodic chain. I've been using the FD/FE/FE/FE chain with KIL at all three of the FX slots, and that works ok. But the problem is that there's still a lot of overlap between the last note played and the next ones starting.

Is there a better way to do this?

Thanks. I hope this question makes sense.

Hello, I'm an ungrateful dufus

This synthfluencer -- who's not even particularly popular and has an ironic link to one of his other videos -- admitted to doing something incredibly stupid.

He's actually a legitimately skilled keyboardist and has toured with successful artists. One of them was Lauryn Hill, who kindly bought him a Sequential Prophet X. This ingrate then turned around and sold a really cool and generous gift from a legendary artist.

And he admitted this for clicks.

Local man tells me this crap will change my life

I instinctively hate every fucking synth/plugin/music gear that geartubers call a GAMECHANGER!!! or INSANE!!! or UNHINGED!!! Oh, and of course they're giving me their HONEST!!!! thoughts about it.

I'm sure I'll hear some novel thoughts like, "Deeeerrrrrp, duhhhhhh, uhhhhhhh, his job is to sell this."

Great. Just as all these geartubers have a right to hype this bullshit for money, we have a right to make fun of them for hyping this bullshit for money.

How many people would love an Ableton Move with more tracks?

I recently got the Ableton Move and instantly fell in love with it. It's such a masterpiece of design that combines outstanding functionality with the most logical user interface I've ever seen on any groove box, and I've owned all of the major ones produced in the past several years.

The only thing I wish is that there was an 8-track version. You certainly can do a lot with 4 tracks, but I think 8 would be a sweet spot. I know the Push 3 is out there, but that's a much larger unit that isn't really portable. I tried the 1010 Bento, which has many similarities to the Move and also has a terrific user interface, but that thing is a buggy mess from what is, frankly, a pretty shitty company. It has gotten on my last nerve, and it's still several firmware updates away from being a fully fleshed out device. I'm skeptical that it ever even gets to that point because it's an underpowered device that manages resources poorly. I'll probably end up selling mine.

What I'd love to see is an 8-track Move that retains the same outstanding workflow but more I/O and better battery life. I think something like that would instantly be the best groove box on the market. Basically, it would be something in between the current Move and the Push 3 standalone.

"Of course you can trust me -- I've been paid to tell you this sounds great."

"Your synth is always out of tune and sounds like a monster is gurgling his own night mayonnaise."

"Thanks, it's experimental."

Is the MPC Live 3 manual good?

Hello all.

I've worked through the MPC Bible, and it's definitely solid. But I'm a nerd who likes to know everything about a device if I'm going to use it for a long time, which I plan on doing with this. That being the case, is it worth it to work through the entire MPC Live 3 manual? Is it completely comprehensive and easy to follow? Or should I not even bother and just use the manual as a reference at this point?

In terms of my experience, I'm a long-time musician and still will use Logic for most of my work, but I plan on using the MPC for travel and live performance.

Thanks.

Technical support has gotten WEIRD

Is this what tech support is going to look like in the therapy-obsessed AI age?

I contacted UJAM with an installation problem. This ultimately is the communication I got back.

Not only does the U in UJAM stand for you, but the M stands for me, the J stands for jizz and the A stands for anus.

Thanks, UJAM!

(The actual problem, by the way, was fixed when UJAM just resent the damn license authorization.)

Win special prizes

Here's synth Super Shill Dick Shat awarding a very valuable and special trophy at Superbooth 2026. It's obvious that a great deal of time, effort and resources went into this trophy, made of pure Valerian steel and the rarest German plastic.

What in the fuck does this shit mean?

The fucking bad faith gear peddlers at MusicTech are really working hard to keep that ad revenue flowing. I've never heard of an effects pedal -- for nearly $900, by the way, although it's an extra $130 if you want balanced outputs (Enjoy my analog cock, Enjoy Electronics, for pulling some shit like this) -- that will "translate the mechanisms of the human mind."

I thought we were just making music, but if I spend $1k on this useless crap that has TERRIBLE demos, then I can reach a higher consciousness.

Plus it has a leather surface, so this thing is perfect for my S&M hobby.

Now if you don't mind, I'm going to go get my anus masochistically pummeled by my Prophet 7 while I meditate.

Keep buying shit to not make music

Look, he is ACTUALLY making music (allegedly). It only took him three years and all this shit to get to that point, and MAYBE he will start to share the music he hasn't made.

And, yes, this is from Facebook. I know I'm old and Facebook is crap. I'm already ashamed. Let me live.
