So...what was the point of recruiting Adaphne?

So...what was the point of recruiting Adaphne?

After Zokket put up a barrier around the fortress, we went to find Adaphne because she might have an idea how to get passed it. But after we find her, both Adaphne AND Tecknikki came up with an idea on how to get passed the barrier, and then we're given a choice of who's idea we should go with.

...

If we were going to be given a choice, then why did we have to find her in the first place? And it's not even like the game made this a tough decision.

Hmm. Should we go with Technikki, our friend who has been helping us for most of the adventure? Or Adaphne, the self centered jerk who tried to force everyone off Shipshape, after we worked ourselves to the bone trying to save Concordia?

Now, I'm someone who actually didn't mind the pacing of the game. But this is one of the few moments where I would say that this was just padding.

Grant Kirkhope is a great composer, but there is ONE problem...

This guy has made a lot of masterful pieces of music that stand the test of time, but the one problem I'm talking about is with the boss music.

When it comes to boss battles, Grant loves to use the same instruments, and have them be played in a similar melody and tempo. Because of this, a lot of bosses have such similar sounding themes, which makes it hard to differentiate them.

If you played a boss theme from Banjo Tooie, and one from DK 64, and then asked me which one came from which game, I wouldn't be able to tell you. They are THAT similar.

There are definitely some exceptions, like the mini boss theme and Rabbid Kong from Kingdom Battle. But when it comes to the Snow Golem, Phantom, and even Bowser, they all sound too similar.

I'm glad that Grant knows what works for him, but he should try to experiment a little more so we can get more boss themes that standout from others.

Controversial opinion: Sometimes I wonder if I like Mandy more than Jerry.

When I first watched the show, I loved Jerry. His grandfather like relationship with the trio is very sweet, and I like how he can be a bit cheeky at times. But overtime, I started to not like him as much (although, I do still like him) because he tends to do some things that are just REALLY not okay.

I'm sure we're all aware of "The Fugitives" and "Return of Geraldine," where Jerry doesn't seem to understand the legal principle "innocent until proven guilty."

But then you have "Deja Cruise," where he lied to the three about going on a cruise trip, and had them stuck in a time loop until they learned to ask for help.

Then there's "So Totally Not Groove-y," where he purposefully put the trio’s lives in danger, so he can test them to see if they can defeat some giant robot kaiju lizard.

And then you have the big kicker. I don't remember what episode it was. I just remember it being in season 5. But he straight up admitted that there's never a time where he isn't watching over Sam, Clover, and Alex, which is...VERY problematic.

Now let's get to Mandy. We all know Mandy is a humongous jerk. But in her case, I can't help but to be endeared by her assholery. Although, it's normally hard to figure out why some jerk characters work and others don't.

But anyway, she can have some genuinely funny moments, especially with Clover. Their rivalry is classic. (I'm still hoping for a redemption in season 8.) But Mandy specifically works in small intervals. "Evil Coffee Shop Much" shows why an entire episode with her just doesn't work. (Although, I actually liked her in the season 7 finale.)

I'll do some more thinking on this, but so far, both Mandy and Jerry are in equal footing for me.

I made MORE Mario Party boards!

Let me just say, I really enjoy making these, but they also aren't easy to do. So I'm going to take a break. If I feel like making more, it'll probably be in the far future.

What's a minigame you don't like, not because it's poorly designed, but because you're not good at it?

For me, it's Mario's Puzzle Party. I actually suck at this game. When I try to take my time, I lose because I'm too slow. When I drop down blocks randomly to try and get a big combo, I lose because I fill up my grid. I have no clue how to do this 😭

In the Monsters Inc movies, how come the monsters are afraid of touching stuff like kids toys and clothes, but are perfectly fine with touching their beds?

I would like Totally Busted more if it wasn't a three parter

To me, Totally Busted felt like it was meant to be a two parter, but then something happened during production where they had to make a part three at the last minute.

My first issue is with how part two ended. The spies saved their mothers, and they managed to stop Mandy and her friends. It felt like it was supposed to end there, but then the episode threw in a random hurdle with the avalanche, which then ended on a cliffhanger.

My second issue is with part three in general. Sam, Clover and Alex all turned evil and were going to fight each other. This genuinely could have been the best fight in the show. But instead, what we get is some lame middle school style fight where they are constantly tackling each other and dunking their heads in the fountain water. It was so unbelievably underwhelming.

And it's not just that fight. Their mothers were facing off against them, but not only was the fight really short, we barely even got to see it.

I'm not really sure how others feel about Totally Busted, but this is just my opinion.

Island hopping boards are the most inconsistent boards in Mario Party

Also, if you're wondering where Yoshi's Tropical Island is, I wasn't sure where to put it. I'm pretty conflicted on that one.

M(22) Still looking for a woman who will let me worship her feet.

I'm hoping there is someone here who is interested. I live in Nassau County. My age range preference is between 19 and 28. Unless you're free in the daytime, I can't host, unfortunately.

How do the overlords discover what their powers are?

Let's take Vox for example. He's able to transport himself into cameras, and can move through the power lines to get to places quicker. But how did he figure out he could do that. Did it just happen by accident? Did he practice it?

u/No-Mathematician3921 — 3 months ago

Yep. After two months, I have completed my first one EVER. I actually made a post on here a while back, where I had an idea for a Totally Spies movie, but eventually, I decided to make it a fanfiction.

I wanted mention it here first before I put it on the internet, but I was wondering. Do you think I should post it here first before I post it on a fanfiction website? Or do you think I should put it on a website first, then send a link?

I just want to make sure it gets a good amount of attention. I'm very proud of it. And, by the way, I typed it on a Google Doc.

Diamond Depths:

A cavern with a lot of different types of crystals. It's a traditional Mario Party board, and there's a happening space where you get to break one of three rocks. Depending on how many crystals you find in the rock tou break, you will get either 5, 10, or 20 coins.

Frosty Pond:

A snow themed board, since we've only had two in the series. The concept of this board is that the star is frozen inside a Feeezie. To get it out, you have to buy a fire flower from the store for 15 coins to melt it. Then it keeps moving to different locations, inside other Freezies.

Dusty Dunes:

A desert board themed board. There is an oasis where you can go fishing. You have a chance to get 5 coins, a cheap item, a star pipe, or nothing at all. The concept of this board is that a Twistee has the star, and it rolls a dice block as well. You have to chase after it, and when you catch the Twistee, you get the star, with no charge.

Edit: Actually, no. If you catch up to the Twistee, you need to make sure you have 20 coins so it can give you the star.

Mount Mushmore:

An obvious reference to Mount Rushmore. You climb up to get to the star, and once you've made it to the top, you go all the way back down, and have to make your way up again. In the middle of the board, there are two tunnels you can take. One of them has 10 coins, the other has Swoopers. It's a 50-50 shot, and it's randomized every time. Finally, there is a happening space one space before the star. Land on it, and a boulder takes you all the way back to the bottom.

I haven't thought too deeply into how the boards will function completely, but I felt like sharing the basics.
