43M — but apparently nobody told my face or my legs that I'm 43 😂

I am 43M, and I genuinely don't feel or behave like someone in his 40s.

One of the funniest things that keeps happening: when I attend weddings or family functions with friends around my age (some are even 2–3 years younger than me), teenagers 15+ will casually call me "bro" and then turn around and call my friends "uncle." 😂

My friends have started collecting grey hair, health issues and the general "I have been paying EMIs since 2004" look.

Meanwhile, somehow I still get mistaken for being considerably younger.

Physically, I am also surprisingly active. I can walk 20+ km with only about a 10-minute rest in between. I don't mean running or doing anything extreme, just walking at a reasonable pace.

Personality-wise, I am probably stuck somewhere around 30. I still get excited about random things, have way too many interests, joke around a lot and generally dont feel like I hav entered the "settled uncle" phase of life. 😄

The strange part is that my birth certificate insists I'm 43.

Marriage never happened either, so I sometimes wonder whether I am actually late to life or whether I simply took a completely different route.

Anyone else here in their 40s who feels significantly younger than their actual age?

And for those who got married/started a relationship later, did you find that being younger in mindset helped, or did the dating pool still make you painfully aware of your actual age? 😂

43M | Kerala | Looking for a partner, not just a marriage

I am 43M, from Kerala, never married, and somehow I have reached that age where almost everyone around me seems to have a spouse, kids, school fees and family WhatsApp groups… while I'm still wondering where I missed the orientation session. 😄

I am an advocate by profession, independent, reasonably well educated, and probably more comfortable talking about almost anything than talking about myself.

I enjoy travelling, cooking (and yes, I am actually a good cook 😜), music, art, random conversations that go on much longer than planned, and learning new things. I can be serious when needed, but I also enjoy a good amount of nonsense and humour.

What I'm looking for is quite simple: partnership.

Not just someone to say I am "settled" with, but someone with whom I can share the little things , cooking together, travelling, arguing about where to eat, watching something stupid on TV, making plans and occasionally making no plans at all.

I'm not looking for perfection. I d rather have someone genuine, emotionally mature, curious about life and capable of laughing at herself (and at me 😄).

I am open to getting to know someone from anywhere in India. For me, compatibility matters much more than having an identical background.

If any of this resonates with you, say hi and tell me a little about yourself. Please give me something more than just "hey" though I promise I ll reciprocate. 🙂

And if nothing else, perhaps we can at least have an interesting conversation. I am a non practicing muslim , so not particular about religion

Single male in forties and wondering if I am the only one who is trying to figure this out ?

I am 43, from Kerala, never married, and I hav reached that slightly strange stage of life where almost everyone around me seems to have a spouse, children, school fees, family WhatsApp groups... and I'm still trying to figure out how everyone got the instruction manual. 😄

I am advocate by profession, reasonably educated, independent, and I have plenty of interests outside work like music, painting, travelling, business ideas, legal research, random rabbit holes on the internet, and occasionally overthinking things that probably don't deserve that much analysis.

I'm not particularly social. I don't go out partying, and I'm not someone who can walk into a room full of strangers and immediately become everyone's best friend. I'm actually quite comfortable with one-to-one conversations and getting to know someone slowly.

At this point, I'm not looking for some perfect movie-style romance. I'd be happy to meet someone genuine, kind, emotionally mature, and capable of having a good conversation someone who can laugh at stupid jokes, tolerate occasional overthinking, and doesn't believe life has to be Instagram-perfect.

I am posting this partly out of curiosity and partly because I wonder how many other people in their 40s are quietly living the same reality?

If you're in your 40s, single, divorced, widowed, or simply haven't followed the conventional timeline how are you doing/dealing with it?

And if you've actually found a good relationship after 40, I would genuinely like to hear your story.

Maybe we r not late.

Maybe we r just taking the scenic route. 🙂

Got blocked on insta, whatsapp, calls - 4 months ago - should I reach out?

In short:-

Girl gave me all the signals that she likes me.

I made a portrait of hers and whatsapped her as a gift on Woman's Day.

I got blocked everywhere.

It's been 4 months. I tried knowing the reason once or twice. Didn't call from other numbers or made fake profiles to stalk her. Kept my dignity.

Now I feel I should have atleast once called her from my other number.

Should I? Or should I just zip-it and move on?

I am getting an oppertunity to leave abroad. And if I leave I will never return to my home country again, will be getting a residence there. After I leave if she contacts me - that would be really bad and would make me guilty forever.

Plz advice.

Do dating apps actually work in India for men over 40?

Hi everyone. I am a 43, never-married advocate from Kerala, India.

I have tried social media without much success, and I am wondering whether any dating apps genuinely work for people over 40 in India.

If you're in India (or have experience dating here after 40), which apps have worked for you? Any advice would be appreciated.
