MY24 Jogger (incorrectly) reporting service in 1000 miles

I bought my Jogger in Feb 2025. It was serviced Feb 2026 with 13,000 miles on the clock.

Today it is now requesting service required in 1000 miles, presumably because the maximum service interval is either 18,000 or 12 months, whichever comes sooner. The car now has 17,000 on the clock.

Of course, I'm just about to go on holiday, with insufficient time to take it to the dealer to have it hooked up to a computer for a reset. I'm likely to exceed 1,000 miles in the next 12 days.

Looking at the service history and service schedule in the app shows my service performed in February and the schedule has nothing until June 2027.

Anyone else had the car report a service when it should have not? I'm keen to try and get this sorted out ASAP as I don't want to jeopardise my warranty or my extended warranty that I've purchased, which goes on and above the year to year warranty extension that you get with each dealer service for 7 years.

Prices of Mavicas rising absurdly?

I've been buying various types of digital cameras for about 3 years. DSLRs, compact point and shoot, bridge and the venerable Mavica.

My most expensive Mavica was a FD95, from a second hand shop, so it had a warranty (money back if it broke during the next 12 months). That was £25. I've paid as low as £5. Most have been around the £10-15 range.

Recently I'm seeing £30, £40 and even £50 for very average looking models. Clearly some people selling them have no idea what they are. No batteries, charger or disks.

Some of these cameras with sky high price tags aren't even tested. I've omitted the ridiculously priced £400, boxed camera.

I bought a 6MP DSLR with 3 lenses for the same price as one of these. I love my Mavicas, but they aren't in the same territory as DSLRs and bridge cameras. They should be fun and affordable.

Konica Minolta Maxxum/Dynax 5D ( 2005)

I was introduced to the KM brand by buying the DiMAGE A2 bridge camera. It's a fantastic camera, just so easy to use.

I was interested in why Minolta sold up and exited the camera market, and what were their last models.

Meet the Dynax 5D (Maxxum in other markets).

I bought one, in used but nice shape, with 3 lenses, for well under the £100.

It's a different beast to the A2, but I'm starting to love it just as much.

Just some quick snaps from last night.

Ford Group 6 - 1969

Not a collector, so I didn't buy this. I don't specifically remember this model as a child, but it was in very decent condition.

Knight and Lee, Southsea

I've posted some images from this building before, as it transitions from a department store to living accommodation. Its pace of development has been glacial, with the Debenhams store on the opposite side of the road only having recently started its parallel transformation.

This grade 2 listed building (gained in 2021) shut its doors to the public in 2019. During this time it has had a number of different 'graffiti' make overs. These look to be planned/authorised, as they are images rather than tags.

Whilst old buildings sometimes succumb to spontaneous combustion, this one will probably become living accommodation, but I am sure that the existing doors will be unlikely to be restored to their former purpose.

If anything, it's a record of urban development that we all seem to find fascinating, when we come across what would have been called mundane high street images, from the recent past.

Fuji Finepix F450 (2004)

I just recently purchased a F401, and then a couple of days later ran across someone selling a whole host of cameras, one of which was this F450.

He assured me it worked, which I've been told before, but the camera looked good. I was also trying to negotiate a Konica Minolta Dynax 5D into the price as well, but was short on cash. 😭

Long story short, this dinky little camera really is very cute. I do worry that the triple barrel extending lens is just waiting to get jammed or knocked, rendering the camera useless. It did take me a while to find the power button, which of course is the finger grip on the front of the camera. A neat touch.

The controls are a little fiddly, if you have fat fingers. I would imagine the target audience for this camera was a young girl/woman, who had dexterous fingers, with a light touch, and could pop the camera into a small pocket or bag when they weren't using it.

Initial shots look interesting.

Southbank - Kodak DC50 Zoom

Images from the south bank of the Thames, in London. Images rotated, otherwise SooC.

I think I upped the image quality, from those taken on the underground. Certainly the extra light helps the images to be less noisy.

DiMAGE A2 (2004) Festival of Speed

The Singer Porsche exhibit carried on the tradition of putting highly valuable cars, high up in the air, at gravity defying angles in front of Goodwood House.

Lots to see as usual, but where the cars were undercover in the pits, the difference between light and shadow really caused the A2 some problems with dynamic range.

Sinclair Frequency Meter PFM200 (1979)

Looking strangely like a calculator, because it was based on the Sinclair Oxford range, this is one of the more unusual products produced by Sinclair Radionics, just before Sinclair Computers burst onto the scene.

When all you needed was Play. FFWD. Stop & Red LEDs.

Not in the best condition, but classic lines. Large flat tuning and volume controls. LED time display. Tape cassette. Radio. Alarm.

Suitable charger for DSC F1

Anyone got this camera and has managed to charge their battery?

The manual isn't terribly helpful, saying to use AC-DSC1 charger, which from googling seems to say it's somewhere between 4.5V and 6V.

I was planning to use a high current USB charger 5V @ 2.1A. Is this likely to work. Also the battery is probably dead, so any replacement suggestions?

Kodak DC50 Zoom + Tiffen 37mm thread adapter.

I bought this DC50 online recently because it is quite an early camera (1996), with an unusual form factor, but has CF media, so it is quite easy to take images and transfer to the computer and/or phone.

What I hadn't realised was that the previous owner had purchased a Tiffen adapter to allow filters and additional lenses to be added.

The mount is plastic and cross threads at any opportunity to do so. But I've added some sample shots, with and without the Tele converter lens I happened to have close by.

As you can see, quite a bit of vignetting occurs on the wide angle setting. I've not tried the flash bit I expect the lens probably casts a shadow over the background to the RHS.

Olympus C-3000 Zoom (2000)

I've got some of the later (2004) Camedia models, 750uz / 760uz, so it's interesting to see how the earlier (2000) C-3000 compares.

These are all SOOC, taken during the golden hour.

The Great Egg race - TV series

Essential viewing for nerds. Professor Heinz Wolfe was the stereotype mad professor in real life. I loved the challenge to see who could move an egg the furthest on a single rubber band.

Sony F55 (1999)

Goodwood Festival of Speed, Cartier style and luxe pavilion. Lamborghini Miura, in various colours (RGYOBW), BMW M1 and Lancia 037.

All images SooC, but obviously the collage counts as edited.

It's an absolute blast of a camera, with the lens that rotates through 180 degrees, so you can selfie, shoot from waist height and also normal.

Beautifully made in silver metal (magnesium alloy?).

Channel 4, mid 80s, Computer literacy, Milton Keynes.....

I've tried finding information about this, but failed miserably.

I am sure that there was a series, on Ch4, set in and around Milton Keynes, in the mid 80s, that dealt with computer literacy.

It stared a young married couple, he was a bit of a technophobe, she was a school teacher (?) and was quite tech savvy, and her dad was a bit more switched on than his son in law, regarding technology.

It was broadcast on a weekend, mid afternoon, possibly on a Sunday, and dealt with new technology and how it affected everyone's lives.

I have found zero hits on this series, to the point where I think i must have dreamt it.

It can't have been on 5, as it was in the 80s, not 90s. It wasn't a BBC 2 programme either.

Any one remember it, and save my sanity?
