F/30/5’0 [130>108=22 lbs lost] (6 months)

Spent the first 4 months in a deficit, after achieving my goal I have focused on eating at or slightly above maintenance to seriously work on building muscle. Sobriety and getting serious in the gym and the kitchen has done wonders. I’m not over restricting and learning to love the journey and myself.

Progress since April

These jeans don’t fit quite how I’d like them to just yet but almost a size 1 again. Lost over 25 lbs added much more muscle, enjoying lifting 5-6x a week with lower impact cardio. Eating at maintenance right now but I am still seeing progress around my waist line as I added more muscle.

Friday night 5k

Did a little half walk/jog to complete the night. I think I’m really moving past my cravings for drinking but sadly not past my sugar cravings trying to find a balance between enjoyment and control without being overly obsessed. I’ve realized a lot of my drinking came from self hatred and how overly critical I was of myself especially my appearance and drinking was the only time I didn’t feel ugly or fat and than drinking made me ugly and fat. I’m not sure I’ll ever be completely free of negative self talk or body dysmorphia but all I can do is work on it and lately walking has been a great time for me to self reflect and relax wish I could have done it outside but thunderstorms changed that. 155 days sober here’s to many more!

(29) to (30) 152 days without a drink

After years of battling depression, addiction, and terrible self hatred I think I’m actually happy for the first time in my adult life. For years I was constantly struggling with drinking I’d stop for a while and start again I tried convincing myself I could live in moderation and only drink on weekends eventually the weekends would start a day earlier until I was drinking everyday I was sick I hated myself I really had no desire to do anything that was drinking. I had decided I was ok with being ruled by the bottle and that nothing matters. I tried to quit several times even made it 3 months one time but I knew I had a stop date in mind to start drinking again I thought if I wasn’t happier after a month clearly quitting wasn’t the answer but that’s so far from the truth the longer I stay away from booze the happier I am. I’ve learned more about myself and how to enjoy life.

Feel like I’m seeing some real results while eating more than before consistently

5’0/30/135>108.
In April I decided I need to get my life back on track and with a combo of sobriety, therapy, and diet and exercise I feel I’ve done it. In April I started by eating 1200 cals my daily activity was fairly lower than it is currently I got myself back to 10k steps and started re introducing weights with a focus on form and building up core strength. Fast forward to May I added about 50-100 calories weekly after April my weight routine increased to where I’m at right now doing low reps high weights, less intense cardio, and eating about 1900 calories. My main focus is building muscle and reminding myself to not obsess over the scale and appreciating my body for all it does, I think being short it’s easy to get down on how little I had to eat to be thin but prioritizing muscle gains while reverse dieting has really changed for me I listen to my body when it’s hungry and haven’t had a binge in almost 5 months now I think if you have to be in a long term deficit planning diet breaks is key and it’s so important to not try to rush it all I say this as someone who spent all my teens and twenties doing that.

19>30 a lot of ups and downs to get back to where I was

At 30 I’m probably about 5 pounds more than I was at 19. My mid and late 20s were rough my weight went all the way up to 150 at point as a result of depression and drinking. Realized I needed to unfuck my life get my shit together and stop making excuses. The biggest difference is having such a healthier relationship with food, my body, and training. Instead of restricting and binging I focus on an 80/20 diet do training I enjoy and treat myself with kindness. I honestly thought after 27 everything would be down hill and I’d never get back in shape I only got back to being consistent about 5 months ago and went from 136 lbs to 108 can’t wait to see how much more progress I make with consistency.

F/30/5’0 [127 > 108 = 19 pounds lost] (9 ish months) Some back progress

Started with a focus on weight loss currently focusing on gaining more strength while in a minimal deficit. Want to lose a few more pounds and add a little more muscle just being patient and putting in the work.

Do you ever have a great workout and then look absolutely depleted?

Had a really good heavy leg day, and was expecting a good pump and it’s giving absolutely nothing. I was feeling absolutely spent at that the end of my workout so I don’t know if my body was just exhausted or what still happy to be making progress but I was disappointed lol.

First time making lamb

Figured I’d make it easy on myself and by the pre-marinated one, omg so yummy and easy to make. The feta dip is amazing made some tzatziki and a little salad with some lemon dressing I made. Going to put the left overs in a pita tomorrow.

4.5 months of calorie counting f/30/5’0 (135>108)

Started in April eating about 1200-1300 calories every few weeks I bumped up my calories currently fluctuate between eating around 1600-2200 calories a day depending on how much I move. No secrets just lifting, mainly incline walks for cardio, I did get on lexapro to get out of a very serious depression and quit drinking. Calorie counting makes a world of difference but couldn’t have done it without first addressing my mental health.

30f//5’0/109 lbs how to achieve a more proportionate figure

So I recently lost about 26 pounds I still want to lose a few more pounds and although my waist has gotten significantly smaller I am concerned about my proportions mainly the fact that my underlying structure is a wider more pronounced rib cage and fairly narrow hips. My current measurements are waist 24 6/8 and hips 32, I’ve never had naturally large hips even when I was overweight. I have hip dips which at this point I’m fine with it’s just my body shape. I lift 5-6 days a week with a large focus on compound movements and a fair bit of accessory work my cardio mainly consists of incline walks because I feel more intense cardio makes my legs thinner and further throws off my proportions I feel I’ve built out my lats in a way that I think look good and am constantly working on glutes, just looking for advice or tips on what to do to appear more proportional.

April 20 > August 8

Gave myself one full week of eating at maintenance before deciding to reassess my goals. Although I’m happy with my progress I’ve decided I’d like to lose 3 more pounds currently weighing between 109-110 pounds and would like to weigh 107, so for the next month I’m going to eat in a small deficit of 300-400 calories and see what the next month brings my tdee as of late is around 2000-2200 calories depending on my daily activity so I’m going to eat around 1800 calories and as long as I feel good and the scale reflects progress I’ll keep at that. As my goals get more specific so does my process so counting my macros is becoming more important. If I can’t eat at a sustainable amount to stay under 110 I’ll take it as sign that where I’m at weight wise is ok and will make muscles gains my number one priority.
