When did you know to go to L&D?

Everything was normal - then my 20 week anatomy scan showed a 25mm cervix. 4 doses of progesterone later and not sure if the feeling of fullness is the progesterone or if I need to go in. I also have internal hemorrhoids so always in a bit of discomfort down there.

I had a baby 7 years ago and went full term but I never felt any contractions or pain so I don’t know what to look out for.

My follow up scan is in 3 days but I keep reading stories where this progresses so fast- but how did you know? What did you feel?

Edit: Go in ASAP if you feel this. I am dilated and being monitored overnight to find out if I am a candidate for a rescue Cerclage in the morning.

OBGYN’s in house ultrasounds Out of Network - NJ

I’ve now had 3 ultrasounds at my OB and just got an EOB that all bloodwork and ultrasounds through that office are out of network. I did already call a few weeks ago as they billed one of the doctors visits as out of network too, but that’s been corrected.

I thought that there was a surprise billing law that prevented these types of charges? Office is sending bills, I already asked them about the out of network charges and the person on duty that day couldn’t answer.

Is this on me to pay or is this likely a billing discrepancy?

Do Hemoglobin Variants Impact CBC results?

I discovered late in life that I have an uncommon, non symptomatic variant called hemoglobin J - 25%. Wondering if this impacts results of my regular blood tests or if it’s completely irrelevant? Would a variant cause a test to have false positives or incorrect values? Thanks in advance.

Multiple Call Sessions/Wrong Number Glitch?

I couldn’t get my call to connect today so I hung up and tried again, my husband couldn’t hear me- I could hear him. Every time I tried calling back it would call someone else- always a random number from my call history. One attempt ended up opening up 3 separate sessions of the phone app which I didn’t even know was possible- so there was a session of me leaving a voice mail from my original call, one outbound call to my mom (who let me know I butt dialed her) and one outbound call to a 1800 number who spammed me earlier this week (that call connected).

I restarted my phone this morning maybe 90 minutes before this happened. Was experiencing a glitch with the brightness settings on my phone that went away after restart. Then this.

Has anyone heard of such a thing? I tried looking this up and didn’t find anything similar so I’m not sure how to fix it.

Ceiling box too inset for fixture installation

I’ve installed many lights and haven’t come across this before. Is there a specific box extender I should use to bridge this gap so I can install my light fixture? The box is inset about 1” and the cross bars I usually arent working because they just fit inside of the drywall and sit flush against the box. I’ve seen images where they sit across the drywall to allow for fixture installation but not sure if that’s even safe. Hoping there’s an actual piece I can buy to fill this space safely.

Should we hire a broker? Assets + Build Out + Lease Takeover

My family opened a bakery- built out the space- and have 5 years left on their lease. They would like to exit now but instead of shuttering would like to sell the equipment and assets and for around $75K. Is this something we should be hiring a broker for?

Another beta post. Share your successes please.

5/8 - LMP
5/23 - likely date of conception
6/7 - very very faint line (almost missed it)
6/9 - first obvious positive test with pink - still very faint
6/12 - first beta hcg 185

I will schedule another blood draw for Monday (72 hours) but my god- the wait feels like forever.

I’m convinced this is going to end soon. Is there any hope with this trajectory so far?

Athletic Performance Impacted Extremely Early in Pregnancy

I am maybe about 4.5-5 weeks pregnant- I picked up weightlifting about 4 months ago and have been working with a trainer 2-3x per week. We’ve also been circuit training intermittently. I’ve never been more in shape.

But - I am now completely gassed when I walk up 2 flights of stairs. It’s completely freaking me out. My first pregnancy (7 years ago) I had almost no symptoms until I was much further along.

I’m not finding a lot of information about athletic performance this early in pregnancy being impacted. Is this a sign something is wrong? I won’t get an US for 3 more weeks.

First Response and Easy @ Home Brand, DPO unknown, line progression

Lines are getting darker on the FRER but not the easy at home. Starting to feel PMS symptoms (cramps, lower back pain) so still not feeling this is viable. My LMP was 5/7 and I really think at this stage the test should be very dark, even with my unpredictable cycles.

Easy @ Home and First Response Brand, unknown DPO, squinters

Update from yesterday, including those super squinters with today’s vvvfl. I’m getting chemical vibes, though cautiously excited. I’ll keep posting throughout this first couple of weeks as lines progress or lighten (for science).

My cycle is unpredictable and I’m older (nearing 40). I have one child already and expected to be one and done, but here we are. We decided to see if the universe wanted us to have another, this is our first cycle trying- pretty sure timing was off and we got very late implantation.

First Respose and Easy @ Home Brand, DPO Unknown - super squinters- maybe?

Swear I saw a slight line on the easy @ home so took another test with First Response an hour later and swear I see another faint line! First cycle trying, I don’t track or test for ovulation (I have irregular cycles). Felt like my period was coming bc of cramps and sore breasts but even with my irregularity it’s late.

We did the deed 15-17 days ago so I would have expected a darker line by now, maybe this is a chemical- but also maybe no one else sees it and I’m imagining these lines? Took pics within a few mins of testing.

Pay Cut for WLB - Would you?

This job I’m at- the one I fought for, worked hard for, and prayed for… I hate it. I’ve been here about 3 years. I make around 275K, a salary I really never thought possible with my background, education, skills, etc.

But it’s hard working here. Very abusive culture- not just in the grind but in how everyone talks to each other. I want out, but that insanely inflated salary will disappear. Best I’ve found externally is about 200K. Only looking for older companies with good WLB, sometimes boring business models, in some cases they are fully remote.

I’m married to a high earner we can, in theory, afford for me to stop working altogether, so a pay cut won’t kill me, but it’s hard to think about stepping away from this salary. It allows us to do pretty much whatever we want and put a lot toward savings. But also I hate every moment of my life from 8-6 M-F.

I understand the job market is rough right now too and this is a very privileged place to be. I am grateful to be employed. I just want to be happy too. What would you do?

Anyone Working at a Non Chaotic Start Up?

I’m a systems architect (on a large team that handles all of the internal systems like Zapier, Marketo, Salesforce, Oracle, Docusign, etc). The AI projects at our company are being implemented dangerously and haphazardly. Random teams are taking over swaths of what my team previously managed. Without giving away too much- we have around 1K employees and founded under 10 years ago. Teams who previously came to us for implementation are now implementing themselves with AI slop. None of it works properly and when it totally breaks or fucks something up, they ask us to troubleshoot it. Leadership is divided- each founder manages an aspect of the business and they argue over who manages what- so our team (Business Operations/IT) gets stuck in the middle while they duke it out.

I’m not sure if this is normal- should I stay because this is what is happening everywhere right now? Or is this particularly dysfunctional and I should look for more stability? I’ve worked at other start ups and it wasn’t like this, but AI wasn’t a thing back then either.
