Happy 4th of July

🇺🇸
As we celebrate our nation’s independence, it’s impossible not to think about all that’s happening around the world—political unrest in Venezuela, the Ebola outbreak in parts of Africa, and the ongoing wars involving Ukraine, Israel, and Iran. So many families are living through fear, uncertainty, and loss.
Today is a reminder not to take peace, freedom, and the people we love for granted. May we be thankful for the blessings we have, pray for those who are suffering, and never lose hope that compassion and wisdom can prevail over hatred and conflict.
Wishing everyone a safe, peaceful, and meaningful Independence Day. May we celebrate not only our freedom, but also our shared humanity. ♥️🇺🇸

“A Hoya collection isn’t just a collection—it’s a lesson in patience, a little daily joy, and proof that the best things in life bloom in their own time

Being a Hoya plant lover is about appreciating a plant that rewards patience. Hoyas aren’t just houseplants—they become a hobby, a collection, and for many people, a source of daily joy.

I saved a turtle today

I saved this is a Blanding's turtle. ❤️
This species is endangered in many areas, as it faces threats from habitat loss and is often killed by cars while crossing roads. It is a semi-aquatic species native to the Great Lakes region and parts of the Northeastern United States and Canada.

Getting harder everyday!

My 92 yr old dad has been living with me and he’s the patriarch of all our family dysfunction…he’s always shit stirring daily.

He is entertained with family drama, I refuse to play into his games. I simply tell him daily ( maybe 4-5 times) that if that entertains you -you’re an asshole! He’s response is always -I am an asshole get over it!

He’s has a trust and his entire trust is for one granddaughter. I do not care. I hate the drama it brings into my house when she wants him to watch his spending but I do not care about that either.

I take him to a senior center for 2 full days of playing cards and I take him to the casino for playing cards. It’s what he loves and I’m am grateful he is able to still entertain himself.

I was with my mom to the very end with dementia and I’m riding him out as long as I can simply so I can say I have been there till death with both parents and my only sister.
It’s for me….

I read all these horrible conditions so many are stuck in and it breaks my heart.

I’m so sorry for each and everyone of you stuck in this struggle. This flat sucks!
You are deeply respected more than you know. You are stronger than you know. ♥️

There’s parts of me that will never grow up!

I love this hand-painted details, striped apron, curved legs, bead fringe, and playful color palette make it feel like something that could have come straight out of a fantasy tea party. The exaggerated proportions and artistic imperfections give it that charming, “nothing has to match perfectly” feeling that is very much in the spirit of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
There’s parts of me that will never grow up!

Starters for my niece. Jade and variegated little rubber plant- peperomia. Sharing plant starters with family is like sharing a piece of your indoor garden and a little bit of your heart.

Hoya Crimson Queen hasn’t bloom yet.

I love her! I have her in a west window.
I gave her a trellis recently, she was hanging.
Are there any secrets for getting her to bloom.
She’s 3 years old. I feed her in the summer months and showers once a month. ❤️

Loss my tolerance

I have literally separated myself from a lot of family members who’s brought absolutely nothing to the table but drama!
I just can’t take it anymore, it seems like such a waste of time and attitude.
Yes I’m aware it will be lonely at times and holidays will be spent alone but it positively sounds peaceful.
I’m so tired, I went to a counselor and she told me that I have been absorbing all the years of dysfunctions to make my life appear better. This made sense to me.
I guess what I’m saying is I’m done caring about all the wrong things and people who couldn’t care less.
I’m love my home, my husband, grandchildren and great grand babies,my dog and very much my life. Let them all figure it out.

Ollie-the drama doodle

Our Aussiedoodle comes with a huge personality packed into all that fluffy fur.
He’s incredibly intelligent, emotionally tuned in, affectionate, and always hilariously dramatic about everything — from being left alone for five minutes to announcing that their food bowl is “clearly empty” when they can still see food at the bottom. Lives for cookies and jumps into the bathtub if we tell him he has stinky butt. 🤣🤣🤣

Lil house finch eggs in my geranium hanging pot

I’ve read it takes 12-14 days for them to hatch.
I’ll take the plant down and water it from the bottom until babies are gone. So exciting!!!

Birth of a new leave on my rubber tree

The pink rubber plant (Ficus elastica 'Ruby') is a striking tropical indoor plant featuring thick, glossy leaves variegated with deep green, creamy white, and ruby-pink tones. New leaves emerge in vibrant magenta, requiring bright, indirect light to maintain their intense pink coloration

Philodendron Tangerine

This beauty has bright orange, green, and gold tones and is very similar to the Prince of Orange. We have noticed that coloring on the Tangerine is a few shades brighter than the Prince of Orange, no matter what type of light it is receiving. Like other Philodendron Hybrids new leaves emerge a bright color and slowly fade to green as they mature. It enjoys bright indirect light and a moderate watering schedule.
