I just came up with my new name and I do want to test the waters with it (my previous one was too close to my deadname)! I can’t transition for the next 3 years give or take due to situations, so this would definitely help me out in the meantime. Not to mention my first dose of GGD really had me wanting to come back for more so here I am ;-;

As I was working out at the gym earlier today, I was listening to a Switch Stop video ranking every Mario series, and I was surprised to learn there were only 2 Mario baseball games, with the most recent one (Mario Super Sluggers) releasing in 2008. I thought about how Baseball wasn’t in either Switch Sports game, and upon searching online, I found nothing pointing to why.

I generally get annoyed whenever people complain about the lack of Baseball in the NSS series, particularly in the context of “thumb wrestling took its place”. I personally don’t care for golf or basketball whatsoever, in fact I’m pretty sure I only played basketball like 3 times total in the original NSS, yet I don’t complain about their mere existences. Plus, I actually kind of like thumb wrestling as a joke pick. It’s a sport more for the funnies than the sport, which I do appreciate. But I did let my deep seated hatred for nostalgia blindness cloud my vision enough to keep me from asking why baseball wasn’t present whatsoever.

Baseball is one of the more popular sports from the Wii series, incredibly popular in both the west and Japan (even if it isn’t as popular now as it was during the age of the radio), and it’s just a really fun sport to play in general. Length wouldn’t have been an issue for online play, Golf and Bowling both take considerable amounts of time as well. I genuinely cannot think of any reason as to why baseball wasn’t included in NSS or NSSR. Even with Resort shaping up to potentially be the best game in the series from an objective standpoint, and the developers clearly aware of NSS’s flaws, it is incredibly strange that they wouldn’t include Baseball at all.

So I want to come to you guys. I don’t know if this is the best place to ask, but I am curious; why do you think baseball was omitted from NSS and NSSR? I am open to most theories, as I genuinely cannot think of why it wouldn’t be included in the Switch series at all.

I am also not by any means a competitive player, so I don’t know if her kit is balanced or not, I just tried to make something cool that I felt reflected what Ironheart does

Aside from bringing back the RPG battle system, of course. That’s the most obvious answer, and I really don’t want to get 30 of the same comment. I’m thinking more plot, locales, enemies, allies, that sort of thing.

Just a sort of vanilla plus style skirt. It does look just a little stiff but this is my first go at Blockbench animation. Took fucking forever but I do really like how it came out, especially for my first try at any form of animation. Maybe I’ll go back and patch it up later but I’m not sure lol

While this would mean the separation of more unique skins for certain character that rely on them (like Inkling, Bowser Jr. and Hero) and Echo Fighters would basically become obsolete, a more flexible costume system could open up the opportunity for both in-series costumes (like Metal Sonic over Sonic or Scream Tail over Jigglypuff) and crossover reskins (like Minecraft Wolf & Chicken over Duck Hunt or Ender Dragon over Ridley [yes those are the only two I can think of atm lol]). I would imagine the animations would remain the same, just with different models. If this system was implemented, what costumes would you want to see added?

I also think this could be complimented by giving Miis a Tomodachi Life level style of customization, implementing more traditional clothing alongside the crossover pieces. The fact that there isn’t a single “regular” outfit in Smash that I like is a crime >:(

My whole idea for this menu is that it takes you all around the bedroom of the kid who’s playing with all these toys to make all the characters fight each other (main menu on the window, creation on the desk, shop in the closet, etc)

This is a very early idea I made; feel free to ask any questions or provide any criticisms you want, because honestly this looks a little ugly to me and I can’t exactly pinpoint how to fix it

I don’t think the devs expected anybody to take this seriously as a sport. It’s a joke pick, which is a first for the series, but it is admittedly a really good joke pick to start with. I think the people complaining that “you can just do it with the person next to you” are missing the point. Looking at someone playing it at the Japan expo, it looks so fucking stupid and I love it, I genuinely don’t get why people see Thumb Wrestling’s inclusion as a bad thing

Feel free to ask anything about the roster or question all of my decisions :D

I’m binging all the MCU movies thanks to a suggestion from my best friend (my only previous marvel exposure was the Spider Verse movies), and I loved the Tom Holland Spider Man movies. I also really like the Iron Spider suit; the colors are distinct from your usual Spider-Man suit and the extra legs are sick as hell. But looking online, most people seem to be going nuts over the brand new day suit when, to me, it just looks like a regular ass spider man suit instead of a more unique one with cooler colors like Iron Spider’s. I could do without the tech, just the unique colors would be cool enough for me. So why do people like the Brand New Day suit so much?
