Tips for a beginner

Hey everyone, I was wandering for some tips and advice on Mario Kart 8. When I got my switch 2 I got MK World with it, and enjoyed it for what it was, especially knockout tour. I saw MK8 was on sale and thought I would buy it as it’s got such good reviews and more courses etc.

I have just had a go on it, and I was struggling to win a race. Granted it’s probably my arrogance I went to 200cc, I thought because I could do 100/150 on MKW I would be fine. But it felt so different. I don’t want to say sluggish or less responsive but just different. In MKW I would drift quite a lot but I struggled on 8 to do that. Maybe it’s because the courses are less open? I also used Link, maybe he isn’t a good character to use? I don’t know.

Are there any tips/techniques for me to learn to make it easier?

Also on a side note are there characters etc to unlock or is it all unlocked?

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe aswell as World?

I have a switch 2, and it came with Mario Kart World. I was hoping there would be some DLC announced at the Nintendo direct but it wasn’t meant to be. My son is 8 next week and has started taking an interest in Mario Kart and it’s so much more fun playing multiplayer.

My question is, do you think in 2026 that Mario Kart 8 deluxe is still worth buying and playing as an alternative to Mario Kart World for both offline and online play, and if so why is worth playing? I am thinking of buying a copy of it but wanted some opinions first

Looking at the Mobapad Controller

I am looking to get a pro controller for my switch 2. For context I have an official pro controller, however my son is getting a switch 2 for his birthday and we have all started to play multiplayer a bit more so I thought it would be a good time to get an additional controller.

I was looking at the Mobopad Chitu controller as I believe that is the one they have released for the switch 2, I am wandering how this compares to the official pro controller? The main thing I see is that you cannot programme the back buttons. Is there anything else I am missing?

What are the pros and cons?

Thanks

How do you decide where to play 3rd Party games?

Hey everyone, I have a PS5 and also a Switch 2 and for me I love the combination. When I got my first Switch 2. Being my first Nintendo system the idea for it was to be just for Nintendo games and everything else would be on PS5. However with more stuff coming out on Nintendo, I was wandering how do you decide what 3rd party games you pick up on Nintendo (if you are fortunate enough to own two consoles)

I ask this question because at the moment I’m interested in playing Red Dead Redemption, and the FF7 Remakes as I’ve never played any of these games. In my head I know technically they are better versions on PS5 and I struggle to overcome that. However I do play my switch mainly handheld and although I have a PS Portal it’s not the same. I’m going on holiday next month and the convenience of having a few bigger games for the plane etc on my switch would be handy.

Does the average user really see a big difference between the graphics and frame rate these days or do you need to an employee of digital foundry to really notice a difference.

So yeah, I’m sorry for rambling on, but I’m just curious for people’s thoughts on this. Also if there are any 3rd party games for the switch 2 that you feel have been brilliant and you picked them up on the Switch rather than another console/pc

What games should I buy to expand my switch library?

I have had my Switch 2 for a little while and am slowly building myself a little library of games. This is mainly going to be for Nintendo exclusives, or things that are either on a good sale, or just feel right to play handheld, as I mainly play handheld.

These are the games I’ve got currently, are there any suggestions you would make based on what I have already

Zelda BOTW and TOTK
Mario Kart World
Mario Wonder
Donkey Kong Bonanza
WWE 2K26 (just for handheld grind)
Red Dead Redemption (bought it as wanted to play it when we go on holiday)

As you can see it’s not a massive list but am open to suggestions

Thanks in advance

Live Events needed for Eddie Guerrero

Of all the live events that are active currently which are needed to be completed to get the Eddie Guerrero card? Just so I know which cards potentially I would need to buy?

Thanks in advance.

Bloodline rules live event

Hey, has anyone completed the bloodlines rules match? I’m using a striker card, I can’t seem to pin Roman reigns, as in the pin prompt doesn’t come up. Yet in the match rules it says by pin or submission? Has anyone got any ideas?

Hey everyone, since I’ve been playing my faction for the last three years or so, I’ve really enjoyed it. However now I feel like I’ve reached a point where I’m stuck on all modes, and any advice is handy.

Faction wars - I just don’t really enjoy it. I’m sure once the boss battles get better cards it might have more incentive but for now it just doesn’t seem worth it.

Weekly Towers - This used to be really casual way of getting a pack or some MFP but they seemed to have just made it difficult for the sake of it.

World Tour - Great concept. However I am very early on and stuck, and could do with some assistance. I’m on a handicap match against Sheamus and Drew. Has anyone got any tips for that match? Also reading the rest of the posts, it seems that this mode just gets stupidly difficult and is it even worth it?

Live Events - The part of the game that’s always drawn me in. I enjoy the superstar of the month, and the monthly stash ones (didn’t get anything of note this month) but the rest of it I’m unsure whether to buy cards or not. I have 230k MFP. Would you say it’s worth trying to get all the cards this year, or are you much more selective with the card prices? For example I want the 99 HHH, but in reality with him being a sapphire I would rarely use him in my faction and this the main mode I play.

Sorry, I know I’ve been rambling but if anyone wanted to share their opinions and any tips I would appreciate it
