What do you like most about Japan as a travel destination?

For me, it is the diversity of Japan. Four trips so far and there are still many places of scenic beauty and historical sites in Japan that I haven't got to visit.

Which tourist attractions should be more popular than they actually are?

  • Nara, Japan: should be a full two-day experience instead of just a day trip.
  • Luxor, Egypt: the greatest open-air museum in the world. Bar none.

Others?

Matt Durning is prettier than girls

He is seriously the prettiest man on television. His face is so beautiful to look at. His eyelash is so stunning. I wish the actor who played him had been a bigger star after the show.

What are your favorite UNESCO sites in Japan that you have visited?

After four trips to Japan (I and my spouse are saving up for a future 5th trip), these UNESCO sites are my favorite:

  • Himeji Castle (visited in my first trip)
  • Yakushima (visited in my second trip)
  • Kyoto (visited in all 4 trips as there are 17 components of this UNESCO site "Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto" and hundreds of other not UNESCO listed but beautiful temples
  • Shirakawago (visited in my first trip)
  • Hiroshima Peace Memorial (visited in my first trip)
  • Itsukushima Shinto Shrine (visited in my first trip)
  • Nara (first trip)
  • Nikko (first trip)
  • Gusuku, Okinawa (third trip)
  • Kii Sacred Mountain Pilgrimage (Kumano Kodo, Koyasan, Yoshino (second trip)
  • Mount Fuji (visited in all 4 trips, we saw the mountain twice, other two times it was covered by clouds). The mountain area has 25 components. We are UNESCO buffs so we tried our best and have visited all 25 components after 4 trips).
  • Ancient capital of Asuka (visited in our 4th trip).

We would like to see Horyuji and Hirazumi someday.

UNESCO sites that have surprisingly little tourism?

Some UNESCO sites become global tourism hotspots: Kyoto, Florence, Angkor Wat,

What about UNESCO sites that have surprisingly little tourism?

Yakushima, despite being one of Japan's first UNESCO sites, remains a little-visited attraction in Japan.

Lake Baikal in Russia has very few tourists.

Nahanni National Park in Canada has extremely little tourism despite breathtaking natural beauty.

Asuka, the ancient capital of Japan, has just become a UNESCO site. This ancient city was little visited before, but now with UNESCO designation, it might experience a growth in tourism.

The ancient capital of Asuka is now officially a UNESCO site. Can it become the next Kyoto and Nara?

Asuka, a cherished spot for Japanophile and history buff tourists, has been designated a UNESCO site. Do you guys think Asuka can become popular like Kyoto and Nara? Asuka has so much potential.

Momoko Kikuchi's "Tomorrow" in her album Adventure

The last minute of Tomorrow makes me feel like I'm drifting into a dream. The most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard.

TTPD losing Grammy for AOTY doesn't make sense

She had the best selling album out of all nominees that year. Of the all 4 times she had won AOTY before, she had the best selling album out of all nominees in each respective year too (Fearless, 1989, Folklore, Midnights). Yet TTPD lost AOTY to an album that sold just 407k units first week. It must have been one of the closest AOTY vote count in Grammy history, we all know TTPD was second just behind Cowboy Carter. Anyway, TLOAS is 100% locked to win AOTY (why would an album that sold 4 million units first week not win AOTY?), so TLOAS will make up for TTPD's loss, just like 1989 made up for Red's loss.

About the album After 5 Clash not on Spotify

The reason might be:

  • Toshiki has been persuaded by people around me into putting the album on Spotify, but he refuses as he thinks Spotify pays too little and he wants people to buy albums instead.
  • Toshiki doesn't even know Spotify or streaming exists. He is from a different generation.

The only way to listen to the album is either buy it or illegally download it. I chose the former.

The album is little-known but the singer might be a former celebrity in Japan because her mom is former Miss Japan. Wow. And the album is amazing:

Why can't Demi have a hit?

Ariana just debuted at #1 on Hot 100 and Taylor is debuting at #1 next week too. Yes Demi couldn't even chart on Hot 100 despite releasing quality music. It just doesn't make sense. Fast was #115 while Here All Night didn't even chart on Bubbling Under.
