Stuck at 1-2 phone sales a week. How do I scale?

I’ve been running an online iphone reselling business for about 2 months. We sell through WhatsApp and social media, mainly TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. We’re currently selling around 1-2 phones per week. Most of our sales have actually come from referrals and people in our existing network. TikTok is bringing us decent traffic and people are messaging/calling us on WhatsApp, but almost none of those leads are converting into sales. We have two people helping with sales/customer service, and one also handles deliveries. Customers usually want to physically see the phone before buying, so sometimes we have to deliver it twice if they don’t buy immediately. I’m trying to figure out where the bottleneck is. Is it lead volume, conversion, trust, follow-up, the delivery/inspection process, or something else?

My current ideas are posting more frequently, creating more social accounts, or adding another salesperson/referral source.
For people who have scaled small retail/reselling businesses, what would you focus on first? How would you find the bottleneck and increase sales from 1-2 phones a week to something significantly higher?

Is it normal for an accountant to ask for my Companies House login?

I have a very small UK limited company with only around £350 in revenue, and I’m planning to use a small Indian accounting company to help me with my first set of accounts and tax filing. They’ve asked for my Companies House username and password so they can log in and confirm some information about the company. Is this normal for an accounting service? Should I be concerned about giving them my personal login details? Is there another way for them to access whatever information they need without me handing over my username and password?

How should I split my extra income between savings and investing?

I have $5,000 set aside as an emergency fund and another $8,000 in savings that I don’t need for immediate expenses. My main salary covers my living expenses, and I make around $300/month in extra profit from a side hustle. My stock portfolio is currently only around $650.

Would it make sense to direct that entire $300/month into an S&P 500 ETF and leave my emergency fund and savings alone? Or should I still be putting some of that extra income toward cash savings? My long term goal is to reduce dependency on my job and be in a position where a job change down the line doesn’t affect me as much.

Cheapest way to file first Corporation Tax return for a very small Ltd company?

My company was incorporated on 13 December 2024, and I need to file my first Corporation Tax return next month. The company has only made about £350 in revenue so far. What’s the cheapest and easiest way to file my accounts and Corporation Tax? Is there any affordable software or service you’d recommend, or is it realistic to do it myself?

Chinese employer wants me to resign after their client left. Is this legal?

I’m on a Chinese work permit and residence permit. A Chinese company hired me directly and then assigned me to work remotely for one of their clients. My six month probation period ends on Monday. The client decided not to continue its contract with my employer after the probation period. Now my employer is asking me to sign a resignation letter instead of keeping me employed. They are not saying they will terminate me. They are only asking me to resign. They also do not want to mention in the resignation paperwork that they lost their client or that the client decided not to continue working with them. Can they legally pressure me to resign in this situation? If I refuse to resign, can they legally terminate me just because they lost their client? Can they cancel my work permit on that basis? I am currently outside China and plan to return soon. Is it risky to return while this is happening, or is it generally safe to go back and deal with the situation after I arrive?

Can my Chinese work permit be cancelled while I am outside China?

I am working remotely for a Chinese outsourcing company, and one of our clients has decided not to continue with our service after my six-month probation period. HR told me they will end my employment contract, but they said my visa will remain valid for now. I am currently outside of China. Can I still return to China using my current visa? Is HR possibly misleading me? Can the company cancel my work permit or visa while I am outside China and before I have signed the resignation documents (离职证明) and other paperwork?

First mini PC for a small home server?

I’m looking to buy my first mini PC (preferably under $300). The main use would be as a small server that’s always on. I’d use it to run Node.js and Python apps, background scripts, Docker, and practice Linux/server administration. I’d mostly SSH into it, but having a GUI is a nice bonus. I’d also like to eventually use it for my small business to host a few lightweight applications and store local backups.

Any recommendations? Are there any models or brands I should look for or avoid? Also, would you recommend buying a second mini PC later for backups, or is one enough to start?

[AU] Remote worker at a small company: probation ended, review never happened, communication is terrible, what do I need to do ?

I work remotely for a small company through an outsourcing arrangement. Technically I'm employed by one company, but my day-to-day work is assigned and managed by a client company.

During my probation period, I completed all assigned tasks and met every KPI that was communicated to me. My manager at the client company has always been difficult to reach, so I developed a habit of posting status updates in our group chat every hour, asking questions whenever clarification was needed, documenting blockers, and seeking approval before making decisions whenever possible. This was based on feedback that I should communicate issues and ask for clarification rather than make assumptions.

My probation period ended about a month ago. Since then, I've been repeatedly following up to get my probation review completed. It took multiple follow-ups just to get acknowledgment that the probation period had ended and that a review was needed. I'm now in my seventh month with the company and still haven't had the probation review meeting.

Today I was unexpectedly called into a meeting with the company owner. During the meeting, I was told that I need to show more "agency" and take more initiative.

What confuses me is that I already spend a significant amount of time trying to move things forward myself. I regularly call people when I need information, follow up when messages go unanswered, ask questions when requirements are unclear, document blockers, and communicate progress throughout the day. In many cases, the main obstacle has been getting responses or decisions from other people.

What also surprised me is that this issue had not been raised for several months. I had not received ongoing feedback that my level of initiative was a problem. Instead, it seemed to come up after a recent issue that management was unhappy with.

From my perspective, I've consistently documented my work, communicated blockers, requested clarification when needed, completed assigned tasks, and actively followed up on the probation review. At the same time, I feel like I'm constantly chasing management for responses and approvals.

How would managers, HR professionals, or experienced remote workers interpret this situation? Is "show more agency" reasonable feedback in a situation where approvals, requirements, and responses often depend on other people, or does this sound like a management and communication problem?

Why would a client ask to change an invoice to “AI 算力服务” and backdate it?

I have a client asking me to change an invoice I already issued. They want to change the description to something like “AI 服务 / AI 算力”, backdate it to 2025, and increase the amount to over 10,000 RMB.

The original invoice was for social media and outreach work. My company is a foreign company outside China, not a Chinese company.

I’m obviously saying rejecting him, but I want to understand what this is usually for. Why would someone need an invoice changed like this?

Advice on Hiring an AI/LLM Influencer?

I’m helping a client find an AI/LLM influencer on X and could use some advice.

What’s the best way to find relevant creators in this space? Should I be reaching out through DMs or email?

Also, what’s the best way to pitch them, and what kind of budget is typical? We currently have about $3500 to 4K for 1 week of reposting/promotion.

Any advice would be appreciated.
