How to know which Templar unique units to choose?

The Templars have the largest number of unique units per name, an each age you advance you have three units to choose from- vaguely like the minor god system in Age of Mythology.

But I cannot for the life of me ever figure out which is the most optimal route to use.

I always choose Hospateller Knights- it seems logical because they can heal everyone as we go. But isn't the throwing axeman good? The Chevalier Confrere- what's the point, the Brother Templar is good?

Can anyone break it down?

Offering: English, French | Seeking: Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish

Hi all! Early 30's guy who speaks English natively from the US, I have a long track record of learning languages in a hobby. I'm into music (pretty big metalhead mostly) and I play guitar too, I like learning about history, other cultures, stuff like that. I'm pretty strong in French but want to work in my Spanish, Portuguese and Turkish which are a little weaker.

If you think we'd get along, feel free to check out my profile. Please send me a message briefly introducing yourself and why you're messaging me. I'd prefer people close to my age and older so age 28+. Blank profiles/messages like "hi" with no visible activity or creepy activity will be ignored. Thanks!

Whoa, Crucible mode is really fun and great practice

Every time I turn on the game and see “the Crucible” I assumed it was like an interactive info book of some kind (not sure why I thought this).

Yesterday I opened it and found out… it’s basically a survival horde mode thing with power ups and such? And wow, is it fun!

If you’re bored of or intimidated by multiplayer or want a new challenge, boot it up.

Where would I bring my cougar friend past 10pm in the NOVA area?

I’m a male in my 30’s, but my homegirl is a cougar.

Anyways, Crafthouse comes to mind. They’ve got some heavy food that always hits the spot.

Cougars out there? Don’t be shy 👋 👨

Through a mix of quick and ranked- I’ve now earned Trans-Saharan (Malians) and Transcontinental Empire achievements by winning 20 games with both! Apparently rare achievements!

Was garrisoning in allied buildings and transport ships (silently) removed in AOE4?

Recently I tried two things that I took for granted would be features in the game, as they existed in AOE2- I tried to garrison my units in a team member's keep, and to put my units in an ally's transport ship.

To my surprise, I wasn't able to right click my units in.

Was this feature silently removed or something? I found an earlier Reddit post from a few years ago claiming that it existed (this one here: https://www.reddit.com/r/aoe4/comments/tkf2n4/can_allies_board_your_transport_ships/ ) but can't find it being discussed elsewhere.

Do a lot of people not know about Malian stealth?

I just won a game by sacred sites and I attacked my opponent in the following ways:

  1. Attacked across my wall by charging longbowman with Musofadi warriors in stealth
  2. Infiltrating small groups to take out trade, houses and villagers with Musofadi warriors in stealth and running away if they attacked
  3. Attacking with Musofadi warriors and a forward base via transport ships on the other side of the map

It’s possible that my opponent was just a noob, but I felt like they genuinely had no idea what was hitting them. Do people not know how to counter Malians? Is the invisibility really THAT effective?

Most cougar friendly Karaoke places?

Let’s say you’re a medium ok looking man( as folks here have used terms like “medium ugly”) looking to impress medium attractive + cougars with your karaoke renditions of songs like “It’s my life” by Bon Jovi, where would you go?

Bonus points if it has awesome food and is somewhat metro accessible!

AOE2 and AOE4 player trying to get into the game

Have had AOE3 DE for years- just now trying to get into it. I've got hundreds of hours in AOE2 and AOE4... however... I'm struggling to turn the game and figure out it works. There's this deck system, there's tons of buildings with no clear rock paper scissors pattern between units, there's more ages, and just a huge UI of techs and options.

Does the tutorial help or is there a better way to go about learning assuming knowledge of AOE2 and 4?
