Elon Musk, long ago, struck a faustian bargain

Elon could've had it all. He was in such a prime position: He was rich and successful, but not enough that people looked into his inheritance money coming from slave labor. He was the king of the people, beloved by internet denizens across twitter and 4chan, people which he identified with. But all this was not enough.

Elon approached the crossroads and beseeched the Devil, "I have got to get even more money." The Devil agreed, but said thus: "You will come to learn there are many things that cannot be bought." Such as a functioning brain, or friends, or happiness. Thus the tragedy of Elon: The world's dumbest trillionaire.

The meteoric rise in political power and capital wealth has done nothing but expose his deeply flawed personality and his mind-boggling stupidity. Much like George Constanza, he does and says everything wrong, and the opposite of his beliefs are true. However unlike Constanza he says and does these things to an audience of millions, and some poor souls cling to his ankles in the hope that some of Elon's success will trickle down to them, if they can just glaze him hard enough. And they may be right, Elon is no stranger to purchasing friends.

I have no goddamn clue you're supposed to use Regent's card creation archetype

Is this the sort of thing where it LOOKS terrible and you never take it, and then try it one time and get an absolute god run that breaks the game in half, then try it again and die to a random Mawler? I literally do NOT see the appeal at all, the very few times I've taken any creation cards have been a detriment to my build. Any time I try to play into it, it feels like the build is working AGAINST me, like I'm the one being played by the game rather than the other way around. I don't GET it.

1: Resource management is ass. All the creation cards cost energy- a resource more valuable in STS2 than it was even in the first game- and gives you cards.. that you ALSO have to spend energy on. As well, most creation cards DON'T have an immediate effect, unlike something like Bulwark which has large block AND forge, or Shining Strike which does damage AND generates starts- no, all you get is random colorless cards, have fun. Also on the topic of resources, your actual deck itself is a resource, and if you invest too much into these cards then you're gonna shuffle your deck and have a jumbled incoherent mess that you never planned for. The only card that I would personally consider taking is Quasar, since that lets you pick 1 of 3 cards and costs stars instead of energy.. but it costs 3 stars, so it's very easy to just NOT be able to play it on your star cycle, which is a whole other point of discussion about how Regent's star economy only works if you have the Orobas upgrade which lets you start with like 10 stars, but that's not related.

2: Planning. Kinda what I just said, I'd prefer to have a deck that I made and planned around, rather than suddenly pulling a whole other random deck out of my ass which may or may not help me in the current encounter. Say I take glitterstream for block and remove a defend so that my deck remains largely balanced, that sort of balance doesn't exist with creation because you COULD pull a bunch of extra block cards, or the inverse where you take celestial might and then get a lot of attacks. Even in the case of cards where you choose one from a random batch, it's entirely possible to find a batch of cards that are simply not useful.

3: Planning again, but like on the micro scale. Say you have powers that benefit you for creating cards, you have Pillar of Creation and all that.. but then they're shuffled to the bottom of your draw pile, and you've already played all your creation cards, so you get no benefit from them! These powers don't work retroactively and they don't even affect the cards you create, they just activate WHEN you make cards! This problem doesn't exist with star cards since those DO things; Glow has card draw, Converge has energy generation, Gather Light has block, etcetera! And sure, you CAN abstain from playing all the creation cards you've stockpiled, which then locks you out of a whole "second phase" of your deck where you've already created all the cards you need, and the whole time you're taking damage and the enemies are getting stronger...

4: RNG. Now, we all know these games are luck-based, I don't think anyone's arguing that by now. You could go into a random event hoping for a heal and get a fight with the Fabricator, you could go into an early elite and find the Phantasmal Gardeners before you have any AOE, you could take a Neow bonus and get a card that's literally just dead weight (such as Seven Stars) and furthermore you could not see ANY star-generation cards for several card rewards. All of these things are known. HOWEVER, card creation is perhaps the worst offender, since you're rolling the dice EVERY SINGLE COMBAT you play this deck, you're just HOPING to get something useful- not only useful to the overall combat, but for the turn you're actually playing- and it's entirely possible to just get unlucky and lose. What if you need block and you get stuff like flash of steel, thrumming hatchet, bolas, eternal armor when you don't have 3 energy to spare, or what about the inverse- what if you pull all these attack cards when the enemy has thorns and/or is hitting you for 46?

I guess one compliment I have is that this type of build is way more feasible in STS2 because colorless cards are much harder to find and about 90% of them are crazy strong, so it's more likely than not for you to pull SOMETHING useable whenever you play creation regent.

All buildings on one screen, no scrolling needed?

I could've sworn this mod already existed but I can't find it on the workshop, and looking it up has also yielded no results. It simply shrinks the buildings on the right-side so you can see them all on a standard screen and purchase any without having to scroll up or down.

What is Warhammer 40K named after?

The titular Warhammer refers to a weapon used by one of the five chaos gods, Corne. It's not just a warhammer— it's a hammer of war— able to literally beat the purity out of people. 40K refers to the forty thousand humans left after Armageddon, a 5 year long war.

how we feeling about haymaker bully club?

I've been running it now and then and I think it's alright? The buff itself is great, it lasts about 4 seconds and goes down 1 stack a time, stacking up to 20% chance of instakill and STAYING that high, nothing reduces your stacks. But that also means it's ONLY 20%. Sometimes I just keep walloping gunners and maulers and haymaker doesn't proc, and I can't help but wonder if there'd be a better use of my blessing slot.

For reference, my other blessing is Thunderous, to soften up the more annoying enemies for myself and my pals

While I love the game, I do have some suggestions...

1: The meta is very clearly and obviously defined. Tomes to build mana, Attractorb to draw cards, and wildcards to extend combo. Is this a problem? Not necessarily. Vampire Survivors was about finding the right combination and abusing the fuck out of it (which can also be said of a lot of games in the genre tbf), and Crawlers is not very different.

2: Some gems are objectively superior to others. Why take colored trigger gems when you can have all them with rainbow gem? Why take kill counter over coin counter? Why take double damage over triple damage? The damage gems aren't necessarily a problem because they both have AN effect that you can stack on one card, but the rainbow gem is particularly egregious. On the note of bad gems, Uncrackable doesn't even work: The description would imply that you can play the card MORE before it cracks and breaks, but all it does is give you a RANDOM CHANCE of not breaking a card when you play it after it's already gotten cracked, which is useless because you already don't want to play cracked cards, because breaking cards also breaks your combo!

3: The game is pretty sparse on content, especially compared to Survivors. This isn't necessarily a problem either because, iirc, this is a pre-release (somewhat similar to Slay the Spire 2) where the game is released in a finished state and then improved over time, which can also be said of Survivors with how much DLC that game has gotten. I'm looking forward to any new additions.

4: A minor gripe but in Survivors the damage numbers were slightly randomized so that there's more going on visually (which was just a visual change and the real damage was unaltered) but Crawlers does not do this, which leads to the game feeling a little unpolished. This kind of thing is very common in the genre, not just in Survivors but also in- for example- Terraria.

5: Scrolling through a giant deck is godawful which is a problem exacerbated by that being the dominant strategy. This is easily my biggest gripe with the game, this is terrible. Since cards break after 5 uses in one turn, the ideal is to build up multiple different strings of combos to play out during long fights (i.e. Whip AND Knife, King Bible AND Cherry Bomb, etc) which means you're gonna have a huge stack to scroll through. It would seem so easy to stack cards by mana cost given that's what the entire combo system is based on, or to even have an OPTION to organize cards in ANY way, but no. They're drawn randomly and if you want to re-order them you must individually drag every single one. Also, having the deck shrunken and then the cards pop out when you hover over them can sometimes result in misclicks, which shouldn't be possible in such a simple game and yet it is.

6: Evolutions have great numbers and often feel great to play but are kinda difficult to build around given how they change mana costs. This may or may not be a problem; it's too early to tell if people will learn and develop around this or if this will continue to be an issue.

(REQUEST) The Creamy Dream

I had a dream where I went to an actual bar we have in town and ordered this cocktail. Later, I tried to do the same thing in real life but I learned that my ID had expired, and I just haven't bothered to try and order it again. While my dreams are often surrealistic, taking place in a world that's almost exactly similar to real life with some dreamworld curiosities, this one stood out because it included something that I never do: Drinking alcohol. Anyhow, here's the recipe.

25% of the glass filled with butterscotch schnapps

50% of the glass filled with cream soda

25% of the glass filled with spiced rum

Add one large ice cube, stir (ideally with one of those bartender spoons with a long swirly handle). Top with whipped cream.

I don't know why it specifically has to be made in this order, but that's what the dream demands

Tortoise kinda sucks on its own but can be a boon for characters that already build strength like Ironclad. Also a good solution for decks with strong defense but little scaling, Silent can sometimes fall into that trap.

Grindstone is a shop relic because most builds aren't gonna use it, however builds that do- such as those who take Tezcatara's soup- gain a lot of value from it. Also strikes, as they are now, really aren't good even if you DO play into them, so this would remedy that

Flame is the one I really thought was cool, it was the impetus for me creating these. The concept is simple: You get multiple ancients that enchant cards, like Imbued or Tezcatara's Ember or Instinct, then you find this in the store and now they ALL play an extra time. This also means that cards enchanted with glitter have 2 replay which is bonkers
