A few years back (around year 2023) I went to the restaurant called Harbour Diner on 330 something James St. North. I passed by it today to see that a new business took over and the front cover is now yellow (no longer blue) and I also see that the new business went out of business as well.
Does anyone know what caused the Harbour Diner to go out of business?
Today, I reached out to Eventbrite staff through their chat to see if I can figure out why some people cannot publish more than one event without their account being automatically "suspended" within 24 hours. Here's a copy of my conversation with one of their staff members. Note the text I highlighted in light blue and yellow. I'm Mike and the staff member's name is Kenneth.
What's crazier is they always want answers from their internal team. Despite Ken claiming their internal team consists of humans, I never receive an answer from them.
So if you use Eventbrite to plan your events, publish no more than one event and take that one down if you want to put up another one.
I have a business where I attempt to run multiple very similar events. The difference is the date.
My website urls are elegantly setup, for example:

http://example.com/event/2026-09-02/
http://example.com/event/2026-10-01/
However they all greatly mention the event name (which is what starts the cannibalization). This in turn causes rankings to drop. If the rankings for each event date is worse than 3, then the rich snippets on those pages may be not processed by google (shown to people).
If I modify each page so that the ones with the date in the URL talk about dates, then the page might not make sense to the reader but it would likely eliminate the cannibalization problem.
How do I go about fixing this so people can see the rich snippets in action with all the pages making sense to the user?
It's quite unreal.
I aim to run events focused around the same idea but the only thing different is the age group, venue, and date.
If I post just one event and don't touch my eventbrite account for a while, they have no problem. But If I post more than one, then within the same day, they delete my account without notice to me. How do I know? because I try to login several times a day and when the account is deleted, they state its "suspended".
Reaching out to them for help makes NO difference because the best response they give is that they'll take it up with their "trust and safety team" and they claim I will get an answer in 3-5 business days which I never do.
If anyone else runs events the way I do (for example: focused on the same idea, but at a different venue for a different age group each week), and manages to keep more than one event up on Eventbrite without their account being deleted within a day, let me know how you did it. thanks.
I recently signed up and posted three events using the eventbrite API because I'm tired of how slow the website is and tired of the thousands of connections that need to be made in order to access a few pages. I'm only using it because that seems to be the only place to get customers.
The bad thing is within hours, my account gets deleted without notice. How do I know this? because I try to login every hour or so to check on it.

Why are they allowing AI to control major actions? Are they trying to follow meta's (instagram's) footsteps? because Instagram is doing the same kind of thing.
I just got an email today (a newsletter) from Hamilton Bike Share, and part of it asks me to take their generic survey regarding the temporary Valley Park bike hub. This is your chance to encourage the SoBi team to add more bike hubs to more places on the mountain.

If anyone wants to play scrabble in-person for free, and you're located in Southern Ontario (Canada), you can do so at certain Hamilton Public Library branches. No registration is required. You just walk in at the start time and begin play. Some players are skilled but they welcome all skill levels. The Turn out at the westdale branch is decent and usually has an average of 10-12 people in attendance.
The schedule is currently as follows:
Turner Park branch (Hamilton Mountain): Every Monday 10 am - 11 am
Westdale branch: 1st and 3rd Tuesdays 1 pm - 3 pm
All events are for people 18 and up.
I was disgusted at the pricing after visiting UPS in westdale because I only needed one document done on sticker paper quickly. While they were quick, they charged a heavy price: $2.50 for the paper, $1 for their service fee and about 50 cents for the color ink they used for the printout. plus taxes. so for one printout it was close to $5.
I thought about Jaden printing but the last two times I inquired about their prices and when I considered ordering from them, they didn't respond to my emails and one time I had to manually go into the store to check on the order.
I remember one time when I ordered a printout on a transparency through staples in the past, they charged me $3 but I had to submit the order online and wait until at least next day to pick it up.
I'm in the west end of the city. Does anyone know any other printing place that can print on sticker paper that's just like UPS but charges less than $5 for the printout?
I would have done the library if they allowed sticker paper to be inserted into their printers but I doubt it. Currently they only allow free printing on regular paper.
At Ontario Speed Dating, we believe everyone deserves to be loved. That's why we have events lined up at low prices, but we need people to run them! Most events include a free drink, and you'll have an opportunity to score discounts when you successfully refer people.
Unlike the speed dating organizers that rely on Eventbrite, We don't have to wait until after the event ends (not do we have to attempt to take out a loan) to purchase everyone's drink!

I thought of this question because I'm not the only one where the Eventbrite account is deleted for no good reason.
Here's what I read on the Better Business Bureau about a group facing a similar situation:
>Our account, where we post our classes, was temporarily suspended on Eventbrite. We appealed, and they found that we did not violate their guidelines, and our classes were put back up on the website. However, we are still not able to sign in to our account. We are not able to change or edit our classes. People are still signing up for our classes but we are not able to know how many people are coming and when. Our classes are posted and currently accepting tickets without us having access. We submitted several forms to Eventbrite notifying them of our issue, but they have not replied in weeks.
Seeing that Eventbrite won't provide me nor the group with any resolution with respect to the account issue, I'm wondering how it would be possible for one to subscribe to an Eventbrite premium membership without getting their account deleted or messed up. My only guess is that the person has to be friends with an Eventbrite staff member, but I may be wrong. Any ideas?
I've used the HSR's mountaineer service a few times lately which is nice.
For those that don't know, people can go on the bus for free if the origin and destination bus stop also has a sign that shows a bike and a bus in circles on a yellow background. The ride usually lasts a few minutes but it is worth it if you're trying to get up the mountain by bike.
Today was also interesting because the driver allowed me to do it on the A-line route. I didn't think at first the A-line would support the mountaineer service because its an express bus.
I do have a question. Would such a service support Hamilton Bike Share bikes or does one have to own their own bike to qualify for a free bus ride up the mountain?
I ask for bike share because there are no hubs on the mountain (except for valley park but that will end by September) and someone using bike share might need to make a trip to a special place on the mountain that isn't available in the lower city.
I've been using Eventbrite for quite sometime to help people setup real legitimate events with approval from the respective venues.
One thing I've noticed is that when they decide to delete accounts, they give NO notice of the deletion, and the only way to find out is to try to login, put in the code they emailed and see the message that the account is "suspended".
What's worse is that the support team never helps because they send everything to their "trust and safety" team and state they'll have a response in 5 days, but that response never arrives.
A few years ago, they have also deleted other people's legitimate accounts without a good reason.
Why would such a company delete accounts behind people's backs without any reason?
I'm in my mid 40's and it seems once every few months or so including today, I lose a fraction of a molar. And the part of the tooth that was once hidden and the part that fell off felt extremely dry while other teeth in my mouth don't feel dry.
Each time, there is no pain. Over time, the adjacent teeth that once felt somewhat sharp to the touch became smoother.
I researched online. Some people say it may be advanced periodontal disease, some say it may be untreated cavities that ate away at the tooth nerves and another mentioned dry mouth.
I did end up with dry mouth occasionally throughout the year particularly when the hone heater is on with the windows closed.
People suggest I go to the dentist but I think they may have caused half the problems I had now because I had 3 or 4 holes drilled in my teeth with filling put in when I was a teenager for having cavities back then. That filling has naturally fallen out in my 30's. I want to avoid having the dentist use any sort of tools in my mouth.
The only thing I could be thinking is upping my water level because I don't drink a lot of water. I'm afraid of drinking too much because one time I had a constant urge to use the washroom from it, and I'm afraid I'll flush essential nutrients out of me that are needed for my teeth. I use the washroom once, maybe twice a day tops.
I did hear that Vitamins A, D, E, and K help with teeth. Unfortunately I ran out of K and I don't have alot of green leafy vegetables to compensate.
My finances at this point are very terrible and my business is at the point of collapse. I have no dental coverage. so if I wanted dental treatment done, I wouldn't be able to afford it anyway.
Other than looking into upping the water intake, is there anything else I can do at my end (like opt for a special affordable food or drink) to prevent more teeth from breaking into pieces overtime?
There is more information about this on their everyone rides website and it has also been sent to all its registered members (including me) by email. Only caveat: They expect the bikes to be in a defined path on the mountain only.
Then again you can ask the team for special permissions.
I did once before when I wanted a ride to van wagners (east) and home (near dundas) and they approved because my starting point was not van wagners and I returned the bikes every time.
