If you liked CM you will like Medium (episodes comparisons and suggestions)

I know people mention SUV a lot, but one show I never see mentioned is "Medium" when somebody asks for suggestions that are similar to Criminal Minds.
Patricia Arquette is the lead actress of the show, playing Allison Dobois, a psychic employed as a consultant for the Phoenix district attorney's office.

I might admit that sometimes it is very easy to understand who committed a crime since Alison dreams of those and some of them are pretty easy to understand before her, but in many cases we have to put all pieces - or even a profile - together and what I love about the show are the dark undertones like season 1 and 2 of CM.
If you have loved the episodes directed by MMG you will love the oniric atmosphere of Medium as well.
Plus, Arquette is just phenomenal in this role!

There are some episode that you might particularly love since you are CM fans:
Medium 1x09 "Coded" - very similar to Criminal Minds 2x01 (The King Fisher)
Medium 1x10 - one element towards the end reminded me of Mosley Lane
Medium 4x03 → Gabriel Olds (Criminal Minds "52 Pickup") is starring in it- the atmosphere reminds me of the tones of S1 and S2 of CM
While writing this I found out that Olds, unfortunately, does not differ from the two characters in real life.
Medium 4x09/4x10Anjelica Houston is starring in it! - very similar to an episode of the first two seasons of Criminal Minds (I won't tell you which one to not spoil it for you, but I am sure you will understand after having watched it)
This also a fans' favourite - including me!
I suggest to watch all the episodes with Anjelica Houston, they are all great!
Medium 5x01 "Soul Survivor" - I loved the plot and the resolution of this case
Medium 5x09 "All in the Family" → James Van Der Beek was starring in it!- I do not think we have ever seen something like that even in CM, but to tell you I was speechless it would be an euphemism!
Medium 5x10 "Then...and Again" - Such a great plot twist

There are many episodes of this show that shocked me even more than CM - 4x09 and 4x10 and the episode 3x08 "The Whole Truth" that I would not watch again>! (it is about a boy who gets abused, but there is a sentence that he says, when he realises what has been happening to him, !<that kills me more than "He was alive yesterday?") and also 1x14 and another one about a little boy being kidnapped (4x01).
I swear, those four episodes were so hard to watch and I would have not expected as I have always been used to CM!

There are many others that are creepy and have the MMG's CM directed episodes vibes, but I have not watched Medium in a while, so I cannot remember the titles or the numbers of those.

Dawson's Creek cast on CM

It is crazy how many actors from Dawson's Creek were on Criminal Minds and tbh, I love that.

- Meredith Monroe played Haley on CM and Andie on DC
- James Van Der Beek was Tobias on CM and Dawson on DC
- Kerr Smith was >!suspected to be "The Mad Butcher of Bakersfield" !<and Jack on DC
- Mary-Margaret Humes was that woman in prison who killed her husband and kids and whom Hotch and Rossi were asked to evaluate for battered woman syndrome annd was Gail Leery, Dawson's mother, on DC
- Jane Lynch was Spencer Reid's mother on CM and Pacey Witter's mother on Dawson's Creek (albeit many people forget she was on DC at all)

I think they were all great but JVD and MMH really stood out in their episodes and Tobias>! is still my favourite unsub!<.

My humble 2 watch collection as a 31F

I know this is not much and the collections here have plenty of watches, but I love them, I love this sub and I love watching your collections!

I have noticed that there are not a lof of women posting in here, so I told myself "why not"?

The Seiko was a gift that my maternal grandfather bought for my mother in the '80s.
I love it because it is very classy and small as well.

The Casio AQ-240E-7A was purchased by me as I wanted something classy, with a screen that allowed me to tell the time easily when working, even if holding toddlers or doing crafts - I am a kindergarten teacher - and that would work as an alarm as well.
I also appreciate it being water resistant.

My wishlist:
-Nomos Glashütte Club Automat Datum
-Red Monkey Men's Classic watch with Walnut leather strap and white dial (I have been looking for it for ages after the male character of one of my favourite movies wore it, but it seems it cannot be found anywhere online and with the brand being from the U.S. and me from Italy, it is impossible for me to look for it in shops :/ )
-Seiko Bracelet 1975 (as above) but in silver

Did anyone live in Wilmington while A Walk to Remember was filmed? What was it like having the movie filmed there?

I see everybody talking about Dawson's Creek and/or OTH, but somehow A Walk to Remember is never mentioned when talking about Wilmington used as a set.
Was AWTR less advertised than the two TV Shows? Here in Italy Dawson's Creek was pretty big, while OTH did not have so many viewers as the former teen drama, while I remember AWTR - one of my favourite movies - being advertised a lot, but many seem to forget it when it comes to Wilmington.

Has anyone met the cast and/or crew? Did the movie ever inconvenienced your daily routine? Have you ever met tourists interested in visiting the movie locations?

I also have another question: Was Landon's house near the houses of Dawson and Jen's? The area looks so familiar in the movie!

Does anyone know what watch is this?

https://preview.redd.it/8zxai6ei7rch1.jpg?width=626&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=db27ff39b4fdd4160712091cf9372855c38b0f68

Hi everyone, I have always loved this watch worn by Landon Carter (Shane West) in the movie "A Walk to Remember" despite me being a woman.
I just have no idea what brand is that and if the leather strap comes with it or it was added by the movie stylists.
Can anyone help me finding it, please?

▲ 28 r/Aupairs

Why are au pairs obsessed with a car?

I was an au pair in London, Heidelberg and Sydney and just now, at the age of 31 I am on my way to get a driving license here in Italy.

I have read so many posts in this thread of hostfamilies saying their APs totaled their cars or that when they interview au pairs they immediately ask for a personal car and when I was in Sydney I remember the au pair of my hostfamily's relatives complaining because the hostparents only had one car each and sometimes she was not able to go to her second job because the hostfather needed it (mind you: we both lived in Sydney and the transport works really well over there. I was in the North-West, pretty far from the Opera House or the beach, while she was in the Inner West, so definitely a more convenient location where everything was closer compared to my location).

I understand wanting a car if the location is rural or isolated, but I see a lot of entitlement when it gets to cars.
Maybe I am biased because I hate driving, I am scared when taking lessons even with my instructor right next to me and I prefer public transport so I can read while getting to destinations and also because it is too much of a responsibily, but I do not get the appeal of it.

Why do so many au pairs want a car even when living in walkable cities or cities with good public transport? How can hostfamilies trust them so easily with their cars or with them driving their children?
