How to decide- stay or go home on the departure date?

This year I was unsure re coming g back to Tama- I had already gone 13 times and also 4 times to other cities in CR.

I only booked 11 days when usually it has been 15 .

Now here I am- only 6 days left- it took an extra day or 2 to get acclimated- to get over stress from travel, to find new things, to get places I need. Now I am in a rhythm- morn workout, do Spanish homework, know where to eat sort of cheaply or to cook. Happy people around me- and a lovely pool to swim in. I even found a better mosquitoe repellant.

I feel bored. I think I will not stay longer. It is a funny feeling- Ive been here so many times- prices have escalated- some 40% in 2 years.

I am in Costa Ric a beach town now. I had a 70 minute connection in Houston on my way. Should be Ok- I do not check luggage.

Well, for first time ever on this trip (14 so far) we were 33 minutes late getting out of gate. All the flight I did the only thing to do- not worry about it. Then we got to gate and we had to wait for other planes etc.

I was 10 rows back- of course the first row had problems gathering luggage. I got off plane, asked what gate to go to and booked it- me and luggage- from Terminal C to last one in E.

I got to desk and was told they changed gates- did not even stop- headed to other. Arrived with no passengers left- they rushed me in. I made it.

I thank F45 for all the cardio, the sled pushing & pulling.

I arrived in LIR 2 days ago. This is my `16th trip to CR. I am an experienced traveler. I pack light, have my documents, speak Spanish.

This time after putting bags thr u machine I was questioned incessantly about why I was going, where, Then "sigueme". He had me put my bags on the table and went through the messenger bag looking under everything. Then the suitcase- he tossed things around all while asking more invasive questions. Are you going to move here? No, wwhy not? Why not another city here/ Then 3 times why are you here- same answer " I study Spanish here'. I said something about my hotel- he asked me how many cats they have. I felt very uneasy.

I felt so uneasy I have thought this may be my last trip. I love where I go - to a smallish place by beach- yes, it is turning into a tourist trap a bit. I have friends here who own businesses, teach, chat with etc.

Thoughts? yes, I am older, traveling alone.

My Comcast Xfinity bill usually comes on th e18th or 19th. It did not come yet. I need an address in the uS to send a check to.

I tried the Xfinity chat which was a deeply disappointing ordeal.

it does not understand anything. I argued for about 3 minutes it promised to connect me with a person . Then it said no agents were available.

Then I get a message from Hammat" I have reviewed the chat. You are having trouble with your internet??

I have not used my BoA mastercard in an international transaction. Is there an additional fee?

I already asked re how the charge might be flagged and a text sent and I need to authorize- I get that procedure.

I used to pay everything in cash but my language school likes charges.

I have lived in the same apartment building over 15 yrs.

I live on ground floor with my patio door opening to patio and an enclosed courtyard. Five patios are on 2 sides of the courtyards. The other 2 sides are very tall hedges and 2 small closed gates.

One couple living on ground floor ( lived here 4-5 yrs) got a puppy this winter. They made a small wire enclosure surrounding their door and let dog in that for awhile from time to time. It has a "pee pad" thing which collects shit which they remove every few days. (ICK).

The dog is bigger now- full grown: its head comes to mid-thigh.. Against all lease etc rules the last couple months they have begun playing catch etc with the dog . This habit is more frequent and takes up whole area. This has intruded on my freedom to use the courtyard. I came home from a walk and the dog stopped me at the gate barking loudly. Last night was the second time I began to open my back door and the dog alone in the courtyard with their patio door closed and the blinds drawn was stopped at my door with the dog barking challengingly.

WTF.

Unfortunately I am a gardener. I have 30 pots of flowers out there which I tend to, water, turn, etc. I am so mad at last night.

I loved last times' Apex?/ when we went straight through for 4 minutes at places and this past Saturday when we had ygig- I had station for self so did igig for 90. It was a blast for the first few and then I had to break.

I am preparing to go on an international trip. I used to call and put on a travel alert. A week ago I called and I asked about that. I was told that they can put a note in . However if the system decides a charge is suspicious it will block my card (decline) and sent a text asking if I made the charge & in 15 minutes I have to respond or car dis permanently blocked.

I asked a few times what are algorithms/ Will this happen in another country to which I have gone 15 times - tho not last year- and used my mastercard? They can't tell me.

I am considering bringing only cash.

I am curious if in some studios there are members over 75? I am substantially older than anyone in the studio I go to. It's pretty fun.

I am 77 3/4. Having a lot of fun. I do have to modify a few things. I step on the low bench instead of jumping on box. But I push the sled with 5 plates and a 20 on it.

Well, it happened. (10 year olds)

I was a substitute for a support teacher so my job is/was to go into other classes and help kids with literacy needs.

2 kids who seem to have very short fuses got into it. The whole thing happened so fast it is not possible to remember exactly what happened.

I was helping someone and some comments went back and forth between 2 or 3 kids. I heard something which made me stand up fast to see one kid hit another, a scuffle, more kids jumped up. I used a firm voice to say stop and told others to stay in seats, ran to call for assistance.

There is that moment when I had to decide if I would need to grab one to prevent harm. I am a long time teacher so in my head is " no hand son kids ever". I know people have been suspended, written up, fired, had lawsuits.. so I did not.

I got an email from a teacher for whom I will be subbing tomorrow that a parent reported finding lice on a child. All parents were contacted Friday.

I subbed there on Friday. The kids were working in groups on projects- heads very close together.

I emailed teacher re how to handle this- what words to say ( G 3). He forwarded to the nurse. She did not respond. I suspect she will not get back to me.

What would you say to kids? I do not want to create drama, nor any "wild guesses" or distracting conversations.

I am back from today where I went to a school where I have not been for years. I signed in and was given a keycard & keys for all necessary; a class list for attendance and a very blurry miniature letters & photos of kids.

I asked for another class list and I was told the blurry unreadable paper was enough. I asked if I could copy the list. The secy sighed and copied one for me.

I've taught for a long time- over 30 yrs. I know when I send in the oNLY class list then I do not have a record of who is in room. We always hope there is not an emergency but, in my training, it is important to know who you have.

I have been to 10 other schools this year- all but 1 other furnish these.

I am ranting. I am trying to decide if I should report this to a union person or the Principal.

What just happened?

I like to look at the screens as I go from one station to another to be sure i am prepared and ready to "hit it' at the first second1
I looked up and saw dots going in a circle and squares!! What is the point of these?

We're here to workout- not get our eyes checked!!!. Preparing for a station so we can use our time well includes being able to choose weights, make space if near another etc.. We used to see what we would be doing as we walked ( or crawled) ot the next station.

I got a 6 page lesson plan and a 48 power point slide deck for first grade.

I had a long list like this for 7 kids:

BHH- remind him to be safe and keep his hand to himself and to concentrate

OOPAKOOPA- remind to keep focusing and not be jumping around

KLPO - be sure he is listening. Tell him he has to sit where you tell him to sit. If he will not sit there then send him to his desk or if he decides to walk around the classroom LEAVE him alone. Remind him about the calm down corner

hUJIJI - is allowed to eat any time in the class and can walk around. Be war eif she gets upset and call **** for support.

On top of that I could not do the power point until I realized that you have to "slide the screen" . And the position of the computer screen does not allow me to see the screen so I was jumping back and forth.

Of course the whole schedule changed-- go to assembly at xyz time- so we did. OOps- we changed the time. We go back. Back to assembly and back.

Later in day there was a big announcement that kids got their shirts delivered and we have to give them out and the entire school meets outside for a big school photo! 700 kids!

We come back in all hyped- of course it is not quiet.

Then pass out and wrap in a small fragile sack- the Mothers Day presents, then cards--- then specials teacher runs in with flyers to pass out.

I get every body to pick up place and then one kids' left. Have to take to office for them to call. I have to wait til adult answers because I speak Spanish and the office staff does not. WHEW

How was your day?

Yeah, I know. It was tough.

I was fortunate- I had the whole station to myself. Good as in I didn't have to wait for a bike etc. Hard because I am a "go-for-it" kind of person and 'forgot" the first couple stations to take a break.

I picked up a one day job a few weeks ago . A teacher was on a medical leave- one day a week at that school. Today the teacher emailed me and asked if I could commit for the rest of year. I said yes. I said she could put me in aesop.

A couple hours later I emailed their secretary sending her a copy of the request email. 20 or so minute slater I got an email from the secretary that they got another sub to complete the assignment!

I would not have known if I didn't email them.

I am scheduled to sub in Art at the same school later in the week. I feel like cancelling it.
