There is a sub group of SEA for substitute teachers and para-pros. You have a right to be a member. Meetings are held monthly where information about contract, training and help with questions re sick time, jobs etc is provided. If not a member or not receiving emails contact SEA- there have been recent email challenges.

I reviewed th eplans sent for tomorrow- 5 classes of elementary music:

K- I have no problem with rhythm & boomwhackers with no plans

G1- no problem

G2 same

the 3/4 class- is tricky the Google dox does not open-- the teacher did not respond ot me re the dox- yes- school is no tout for 2 more hrs- maybe she will write back, but I need backup

same with 4/5 large class, her comments they are rambunctious an dto not use rhythm instruments with them. What do I do?

I had to be gone. I checked Facebook in afternoon and saw a reel with Davinias asking people to get to the meeting. I thought SEa was going to vot eon the TA?

Today we did Spartan.

I try to work out hard. I got 63.5 points. I was #2 in the class of about 25 members. ( cold & rainy day- often full).

In other classes Ive gotten in high 40s and mid 50s.Can we compare points class to class?

( I am usually #2, sometimes 1- in medium classes. Once we are packed- 2 or 3.

SSD school first planned calendar day is Sept 2. That is in 2 weeks.

Today on Facebook SEA is posting that they have Strike Block Captains- still in bargaining process but preparing.

Does anyone have more info on this?

I love ropes and sled. I love cardio.

I loved I think it was Apex when we had 4 minute stations.

I look at the intel-- 20, 30, 40, 50 sec- one after another of 3 or 4 hard cardios in a row.

How did you pace it?

EDIT-- I went with a plan. My studio substitutes out the sled & ropes for tri-bell squat OH press & kettle bell speed squats. It was hard.

I am typing this a few hours after a yoga class from a teacher I have known for a few years. She owns her studio over 12 yrs & is a well-known, highly respected yoga instructor.

Why am I typing this? Today in a hatha class which I have taken many from her for years in a vacation town where I go every yr for a couple weeks.. so I anticipated a set of postures fairly predictable. I took one from her last week.

She had us sitting on a bolster, if needed, with knees flexed feet flat, lean forward and standing up. She then passes out weighted sacks (maybe 5-7 lb) and continue. She had as many as could hold the sacks in front of them and continue. I felt uneasy watching it. A few people were over 70 in the class.

While I have practiced yoga over 50 yrs -in 2015 -2020 took over 1400 classes- power hot yoga, and have my YTT + 200 hrs. It was so uncomfortable to try. Ive been an athlete over 60 yrs- have no cartilage and limited knee flexion. I could not sit on the bolster, got another and had to add blocks. alternated doing malasanas squats at my capabilites. I know myself and my age and capabilities.

She ignored me for a long time and then came back and told me to do repetitive squats ( like one would do in a gym class).

I was smart enough to not do that as what I had already done had put a bit of a strain on my knees. Now, a few hrs later, one knee really hurts. I feel so confused.

With all my athletic training, a degree in Kinesiology and more I feel like this was an unsafe movement to have people do.

My take-away- any people, student, older people possibly mor eoften need to be able to modify or not do what they may feel pain doing. Thank you for reading this.( I will not see her for a yr or more as this is last day of vacation.

In my planning to go on a vacation I called T-mobile to ask how can I use my phone in CR. I was told when here to go to settings, internet,mobile internet then select Claro- which is one of 3. Then I can get and send phone calls and texts. Well- when I did find Claro I get a signal- very weak or it does not show.

What's the deal/

When I go settings I have the option _ network & internet- when I go to that-- I have the choices:

airplane mode

wifi

mobile data

SIMS & mobile data

Hotspot & tethering

VPN

Private DNS.. none of those show claro.

I have tried to text and call in CR & outside- none go through.& I get some message that I cannot do it.

How to decide- stay or go home on the departure date?

This year I was unsure re coming g back to Tama- I had already gone 13 times and also 4 times to other cities in CR.

I only booked 11 days when usually it has been 15 .

Now here I am- only 6 days left- it took an extra day or 2 to get acclimated- to get over stress from travel, to find new things, to get places I need. Now I am in a rhythm- morn workout, do Spanish homework, know where to eat sort of cheaply or to cook. Happy people around me- and a lovely pool to swim in. I even found a better mosquitoe repellant.

I feel bored. I think I will not stay longer. It is a funny feeling- Ive been here so many times- prices have escalated- some 40% in 2 years.

I am in Costa Ric a beach town now. I had a 70 minute connection in Houston on my way. Should be Ok- I do not check luggage.

Well, for first time ever on this trip (14 so far) we were 33 minutes late getting out of gate. All the flight I did the only thing to do- not worry about it. Then we got to gate and we had to wait for other planes etc.

I was 10 rows back- of course the first row had problems gathering luggage. I got off plane, asked what gate to go to and booked it- me and luggage- from Terminal C to last one in E.

I got to desk and was told they changed gates- did not even stop- headed to other. Arrived with no passengers left- they rushed me in. I made it.

I arrived in LIR 2 days ago. This is my `16th trip to CR. I am an experienced traveler. I pack light, have my documents, speak Spanish.

This time after putting bags thr u machine I was questioned incessantly about why I was going, where, Then "sigueme". He had me put my bags on the table and went through the messenger bag looking under everything. Then the suitcase- he tossed things around all while asking more invasive questions. Are you going to move here? No, wwhy not? Why not another city here/ Then 3 times why are you here- same answer " I study Spanish here'. I said something about my hotel- he asked me how many cats they have. I felt very uneasy.

I felt so uneasy I have thought this may be my last trip. I love where I go - to a smallish place by beach- yes, it is turning into a tourist trap a bit. I have friends here who own businesses, teach, chat with etc.

Thoughts? yes, I am older, traveling alone.

I already asked re how the charge might be flagged and a text sent and I need to authorize- I get that procedure.

I used to pay everything in cash but my language school likes charges.

I have lived in the same apartment building over 15 yrs.

I live on ground floor with my patio door opening to patio and an enclosed courtyard. Five patios are on 2 sides of the courtyards. The other 2 sides are very tall hedges and 2 small closed gates.

One couple living on ground floor ( lived here 4-5 yrs) got a puppy this winter. They made a small wire enclosure surrounding their door and let dog in that for awhile from time to time. It has a "pee pad" thing which collects shit which they remove every few days. (ICK).

The dog is bigger now- full grown: its head comes to mid-thigh.. Against all lease etc rules the last couple months they have begun playing catch etc with the dog . This habit is more frequent and takes up whole area. This has intruded on my freedom to use the courtyard. I came home from a walk and the dog stopped me at the gate barking loudly. Last night was the second time I began to open my back door and the dog alone in the courtyard with their patio door closed and the blinds drawn was stopped at my door with the dog barking challengingly.

WTF.

Unfortunately I am a gardener. I have 30 pots of flowers out there which I tend to, water, turn, etc. I am so mad at last night.

I loved last times' Apex?/ when we went straight through for 4 minutes at places and this past Saturday when we had ygig- I had station for self so did igig for 90. It was a blast for the first few and then I had to break.

I am preparing to go on an international trip. I used to call and put on a travel alert. A week ago I called and I asked about that. I was told that they can put a note in . However if the system decides a charge is suspicious it will block my card (decline) and sent a text asking if I made the charge & in 15 minutes I have to respond or car dis permanently blocked.

I asked a few times what are algorithms/ Will this happen in another country to which I have gone 15 times - tho not last year- and used my mastercard? They can't tell me.

I am considering bringing only cash.
