What company are you using?

I've used Fireman the past few years, is there anyone else you'd recommend instead?

I wanted to share a recent experience I had with a local auto shop. This might be more of a vent. I have two cars and one that I bought new and is my daily driver. It's older now and is currently in a shop for an insurance claim for flood damage. I have a rental so its fine. I also have an older model Subaru with low miles that I only drive for groceries if that. Is it a beater car? Maybe? Its in good mechanical shape a little rust but good enough to use as rarely as I use it. I dont want to sell it, I'm good just having it to use on a rare ocassion. Recently it needed some work, fog light replacement, low beam bulb replacement, flush brake lines. Nothing major. I'm not at all handy, I'm aware that I am not and I'm fine with that. I also knew that the rear drivers side tailight was out. I had tried to replace it but I either had bought the wrong bulb or who knows but the new bulb didn't work. It was enough of a challange for me to remove the screws to get access to the bulk. Just finding the correct size screw driver and then trying to unscrew that tight screw was just too tight for me to loosen but I eventually got it. I put everything back and the following week the shop had it. I've used this shop before and they've always been good and thorough. When they called me with the estimate to fix the brake lines and fog lamp replacement which was too much for me to do, I asked them to fix the low beam as well. I assumed I had mentioned the rear bulb too but I guess I didn't mention that. After I picked up the car from the shop I noticed the following evening that the rear tailight was still out. I called the shop the next day and was told that it was not included in the work order and that they missed it during their inspection. They mentioned I could bring it back and I did, I had casually stopped by a few days later to ask them about something else (realted to the flood damaged car) and about the tailight replacement. I had mentioned that I wasn't able to replace the bulb and it would take me too long for me to do it and if they could do it and what the cost would be. I had the car with me that day and assumed that they would just replace it right the and there because it would take them just a few minutes as he mentioned. I asked the cost and he said $20 or $30 bucks. Now look, I'm not asking about the cost but between having a car be deemed a total loss by the insurance company and having a few small issues with the beater car I was kinda expecting/hoping that they would pop the new bulk in charge me for the bulk and just waive the labot cost because they missed it anyway during the inspection. Am I wrong to think that they shoulda just done it and charged me for the bulb and waive the labor? Yes I know I should be able to do it myself. I can't. I just hate everything rn, no one is helping me.

White Castle or Raising Cane's? I don't think anything else is open. Raising Cane's is a little closer. Although if I bring White Castle into the house someone is going to smell it and I don't want them to know I went there.

My 2017 Cherokee started taking on water whenever it would rain. So much that the parking brake which I always use would not disengage after a rainfall. This ocurred because the parking brake module is located next to where the spare tire is. The water was leaking in from somewhere, sunroof drains, rear seal, something but regardless, theres more. I ended up filing an insurance claim and I am waiting for the repair shop (insurance approved) to finish their estimate. However I have a feeling that the cost to fix everything is going to be more than what the car is worth, at least to the insurance company. Its almost a fully loaded Jeep with the exception of the towing package. According to the insurance company my car is valued at $8100. In order for the repairs to be approved the cost to fix, the water intrusion, parking brake module everything I think might be more than 75% of what the car is worth. This would lead to a total loss. However the car again has most of the premium features, large touchscreen, sunroof, leather, V6, blind spot, no dents, just had a brake job, battery thats 6 months old, premium audio. If they total loss the car and give me $8100 for it, considering the car has 180,000 miles is that a good offer? Besides this I've had little to no issues with the car. I appreciate your thoughts.

I cannot stand the sound of crickets. Especially the ones that are in my window wells. How do I get rid of the crickets. I think the lawn was once and might still be infested with crickets. I never want to hear a cricket sound again.

Explain it to me like I'm 10. When I go to Disney I always stay on property and pick a resort and pay the rate. I usually am able to grab the 30 or 40 percent off offer. How would DVC benefit me? Usually go 2 or three times a year. No less than 2 and no more than 4. Each stay is 5 days minimum and 8 no more than 8 days max. Trips vary, usually one in the spring, summer and then another in the late fall. Make it make sense.

I have a nose hair trimmer that I purchased from Target, I think it's a Wahl and is rechargeable. It has multiple attachments, one for beard, trimmer and the attachment for nose. However every time I trim my nose hairs with it, it pulls the hair instead of cutting. It feels like the hair gets caught and pulled instead of it getting cut. Even if it's fully charged it's no different. I feel like the motor doesn't spin fast enough to do the job without causing me to have a pain in my nose from the hair getting pulled out. This gives me a sore spot in my nose for a few days. Can someone recommend a nose hair trimmer that doesn't suck?

2017 Jeep Cherokee took on water in the rear cargo area because of the rear sunroof drain lines being clogged or disconnected or the sunroof gasket is allowing water in. My question is now the parking brake won't turn off, and I believe it's because the parking brake control module got wet. I've been trying to dry out the cargo area where the module is located and pulled the side panels away to let the air circulate which it seems to be pretty dry now. I'll have the car taken to a shop to pull the headliner down and fix the leak but first I need to get the parking brake off. I found the new module online but my question is, do I need to disconnect the battery before I disconnect or install the new module? Can I just unplug and plug the new one in?

I want to watch tv and not via Xfinity. I want to have Chicago ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, The Golf Channel, ESPN, the Chicago White Sox network/channel which is CHSN, WCIU, History. Ideally, I want to watch Sox games, Bears games, Bulls games, whatever PGA Tour event is on any given weekend. I'm posting this in the Naperville sub because I think an antenna is just out of range of getting Chicago channels but would like to have that confirmed from other Naperville residents. I don't want to have to have multiple different subscriptions to make this happen but I feel like an antenna in Naperville just doesn't work here. Thoughts?

Update...I should say I have a Samsung with the Samsung TV Plus wih an antenna that I can move up to about 10' away but the signal is trash.
